- In this video I will show you how to connect a BLUE YETI SNOWBALL ICE usb Microphone to a MacBook. This will work on any MacBook, in the video I use a MacBook Air M1 which only has USB-C ports so you will need to use an adapter. I also show you how to get audio on the MacBook for free and how to improve the quality of the audio.

I have a blue snowball Ice mic and a Macbook air. I see the red light when I plug it in but in the 'system preferences>sound' tab the mic doesn't show up and the microphone doesn't work

@@steven7889 Have you tried turning off laptop and then plugging it in before you switch it on? That usually works for another I have. Otherwise, let me know what worked for you well on a Mac.

Hi nice video. Can you advise me because when I record from the macbook when i upload to UA-cam and put my phone to landscaper sound is all muffled and cracking, but fine on portrait do you know the issue? Thanks.

I am using the same laptop and mic and when it is up 75% i get an awful constant humming noise

That's interesting. I did everything according to your instruction but I could not find my mic. The only one important thing that you didn't mention was that the mic is in the Input tab :) :) :) When I opened System Preferences, Output tab was open and I didn't notice that. It took some time for me to notice that :)

HOW DO YOU MOUNT IT IS IT MOUNTABLE
mine was working fine just last week, but now it's plugged in and the light is on, and no matter what I do it doesn't show up, I tried both of my snowballs and both light up red. I'm at a loss
