Totally Forgot That I Rented This: Customer Had Been On Auto Pay!

  • So, I'm a bit scatter brained and I'm doing my best to keep up with every little side hustle I have going.
Some of my customers are on auto pay, and if I don't hear from them, their rental becomes out of sight and out of mind. I have been so focused on delivering dumpsters and keeping up with other avenues of my business that I completely forgot that I had also rented a storage container to someone downtown. Talk about a facepalm moment! It's all part of the journey in running a business. Talk about passive income!
Well, the customer called and asked for us to pick up the storage container, so now I'm left with deciding what to do with it next!
In the meantime, I'm also building some storage units at the shop and rehabbing a rental property that hasn't been touched in years. But now that the tenant has left, it's time to dive into that head first!
I'm trying to knock out everything I possibly can before flying down to Texas for the Lonestar showcase, hosted by youtubes favorite dumpster guy - Josh with ‪@AmericanAFDumpsters‬
Hope to see some of you there!

You should look up the lifting strength of your chain when it is used across the container being lifted in the middle like that. Because the strength is greatly reduced in that position. I think it's 1/3 as strong but it was along time ago and there was a lot to learn so eg 6ton chain can going only lift 2ton. And around the corners through the corner casting reduces the chain steghth as well. If you do a dogmans course you will learn all that stuff. Its a real eye-opener how much strength is reduced or increased in different positions.

With the straps for holding the container on the trailer, roll the end up, the throw it up and away from you. With a little practice you can get it every time. Renting the containers sounds a top idea. Renting rubish bins, yes maybe more money in the short term. However with the containers, low purchase price, drop off, collect rent every month for 2, 6 or even 12 months. No tip fees to get caught out on. I have not a lot of idea what rent on one would be. But say $100 a month. 50 is 5 K a month. One person could run that. The people that would use them is endless.

👍 doing good work in this video. I like that you know about the twist in the straps😊 You could have put three twists in one on the roof too Not a big deal unless it's driving you crazy when the wind is smacking the strap against the metal 😮. And since it was on video good job putting that third strap on! Makes you look really good 🎉. Way to go 💪

Well im new to your channel but have been shopping around and looking to into setting up pretty much same way you are. Nice to see someone doing it successfully. As for the sea cans. Get a torch cut some windows and build it out with a walk-in door mount a window unit preferably with heat and ac, a desk maybe even toss in an office chair and a couple other chairs you're now renting it out as a mobile job site office. Or add fittings for hooking up a couple of tanks put in a 3/4 bath and you've got an office with indoor plumbing/emergency shower office for placed dealing with chemicals.
Build a roof between use for parking as you thought. 2 units with a roof and set up like studio apartments you've got a place for the mothers with covered parking. Or a unit your wife uses as her "crafting area, and a man cave.. possibilities are endless.

Where could I buy one of these to live in me and my family have been wondering where to get them were all welders and builders so we could do a lot with them thinking about burying some

After a lot of researching I really suggest not burying them! A lot of people have done it and you really don't want to! But you can usually find these near a river port!

You're welders, so. The support for these is in the 4 corners the corrugated walls and roof actually don't have much structural integrity so cross stacking when full or burying them requires reinforcement to the corrugation. Why the ships generally have them stacked corner to corner. Trains haul them with 2 20s under a 40 so the support is still on the corners.
