  • So, after fighting off an abundance of unwanted snow, we ended up having an interesting 24 hours!
To start, we received a call for a junk removal quote. Boyyyyy was it a project. A project that would take a few guys and a lot of dumpsters.
We arrived at the apartment building, and it was clear that it hadn't been taken care of for quite some time by the previous owner. We could see junk piled up in the windows and even spilling out onto the balcony. It was a mess! We knew we had our work cut out for us just to get in. It looked like the city boarded it up like Fort Knox.
We found a way to carefully pry open a window and squeeze our way inside. It was a tight fit, but we managed to make it in.
Once we stepped foot inside, we were greeted by a sight that can only be described as a junkyard. The place was filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of random items. It seemed like the squatters had been stealing and hoarding everything under the sun. It was a challenge just to move around.
After gaining access to a couple more units, we called it a success. It allowed us to quote a portion of the job for the customer, as this is set to be a multiple stage project. There were some interesting finds inside the apartment. Who knows what else we will discover.
After that call, my brother reached out about getting his delivery truck recovered off the side of the highway. It fell victim to the icy roads and nearly flipped. It made for a very sketch recovery. but in the end, everyone was safe and accounted for.
Owning a small business can be fun, but some days, it can look like an absolute dumpster fire!

A job like that i would just say you can't venture a guess what it would cost, you'd have to do it per load at whatever your full load cost is per trailer until it's empty or they hit their spending limit. Plus whatver you charge an hour per person on top of that

Your pile of snow with the gravel in it will look like a solid pile of gravel this spring when the melt comes on. On that day push it back into the driveway and let it finish melting there. Way less shoveling. You are going to be amazed how much stone you plowed up. As for the apartment clean up. I would bid it by the dumpster load. Only you know what your dump fees and labor costs are going to be. It's hard working for friends. You don't want to over charge but also you can't afford to loose money ether so charging by the load would be your safest bet.

That hoarder house looks like a $30k cleanup. Would like to see a video with a ride along with Caleb, that would be great! You did some amazing snow plowing in the skid, it's hard to get the depth perception from the camera view, but you were getting up tight to cars and tight turns and all looked you're a seasoned pro in that skid now! Keep grinding, really enjoyed this video, always great to see what you encounter on a daily basis! Enjoy the channel Clayton and all of the best, stay warm! BTW, does it stay pretty warm in the skid cab when it's that cold, just curious? Thanks, Brian

That was a good mix up of video. And I would definitely find some people to help you do that other job or contract it out yourself. Lol I can imagine all the needles and crack pipes and everything else in there. With you doing all the hauling and all that that's probably a $5,000 job probably. And a dangerous one. Heck you would have to pay me every bit of $200 just to try to remove that toilet lol notice I said try. And glad to see another video. And yes there's always somebody and we're shapes than you and I had to realize that when I just went through a hard time myself with my anxiety and depression. Just like there's always somebody bigger and badder .

    Dude:
Cannot decide whether to call you Freaking Crazy or Brave for crawling into that FLOP-House 😏
My best estimate for junk haul away would be at least 1k per room (at least for that first room) maybe less for that second room…..
But I am sure that toilet and other furnishings need to be trashed as well …. So…..
Your buddies definitely will need to fumigate that place ….. as well as tear almost everything out and remodel……😉
OKAY, your brother is crazier than you! Crawling into that truck, when it still is not fully on the ground!
    🤪
A little ride along and discussing may be interesting …. But wait until spring or sometime!
HOPE this arctic blast does not cause too much damage for you!
Finally, those extra touches you did (neighborhood cleanup, chunk of ice from road)😅
Just shows you are “good people”.
And more people in this world need to be like you!
