    1970 Super Bee Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/xhYABGvpv9c/v-deo.html
    We find a bullet hole, confirm numbers matching 440 & 4-speed, and find a build sheet.

    Very rare A34, super track pack, R11 8 track, console, ramcharger hood, fender mounted turn signals, vinyl top, front disc brakes, very rare indeed.

    As another person noted, this Super Bee was built on August 2nd 1969 as shown on the fender tag, second line up from the bottom, next to the TX9 code. Very rare Mopar! It deserves a total rotisserie resto... good luck!

    Interesting Note: On an initial run, in August of 1969 Dodge made a large run of promotional ‘70 yellow super bees, to get them into the dealer show rooms - to stir up excitement for the new colors and body style. I own a yellow 70, but built in February, it is not one of those early runs. This car is unusually heavily optioned, which is rare in itself. very cool find !!!
    Thank You for sharing and documenting this on video

      They also put a lot more paint underneath the car than the factory run s. I have taken many of these apart and usually the only thing you see is the greenish primer underneath.

    What a solid example of a true survivor car. I noticed the tool box dents in the quarter panel from hard cornering with a toolbox in the trunk. Very original. Sweet ride for restoration.

    Great save on this car! Hope it gets a proper restoration.
    A friend owns or owned another early St. Louis plant built B-body that he saved from a salvage yard back in the 70s. It had been T-boned, but is repairable. It’s sequential number was even lower than this Bee-1003xx ! That was a Vitamin C Charger R/T V-code car too! It had a leather bucket seat interior so it was probably a R/T SE model. It was a auto/console car with power windows and AM-tape, 6 way seat, C-stripe and the most exciting option was the M51 power sunroof!
    Love your Bee!

    Such a bad-ass find, I would get it running and drive it like that. Only orignal once... Had a Y2 Yellow 69 Super Bee 383 auto on console back in high school, and a 70 FJ5 Limelight Green Super Bee 383 pistol grip 4 speed, both cars all original, even had original paint, but weathered like this car. Its hard for me not offering to trade a fleet of my cars for it... Im glad its in good hands, very cool car!

    A great find. Your car looks to be a dead ringer for the magazine test car and cover car in Motorcade magazine, January 1970. Always interesting to see anything that still has some originality, the details always seem to get lost in restoration. In this case it’s not what it has, but what it doesn’t have, the Bee decals in on the quarter glass, they didn’t come out till well into the model year. Treat that broadcast sheet with great care, it’s so important.

    i bought a one owner 383 magnum 727 323 gear Bee in '73. BEST CAR I EVER OWNED ...no contest ! I had GTO's, (which I loved) Fury's, Belvedere's, Fairlane's, '57 T-Bird, '68 Road Runner and many more. So many I wish I could have kept....you guessed it ..... DIVORCES forced the sales (bet you never heard THAT story before)...lol. Now that I have an awesome wife, I have no money for these precious gems .... Please do a nice BURN OUT with this BEAUTIFUL BEAST in my memory when you git-er-dun !!
    The good news for mine is that I sold it to a MOPAR collector in CT. I had 148,000 on the clock. The buyer didn't believe it was that much milage because I took such good care of it. He said it was in beautiful condition even with 48,000 !! I really loved that car ! My X-wife said I loved it more than her ....YA THINK !! That car never gave me ANY trouble .... she, on the other hand was nothing BUT headaches. Good riddance to that horror show ...LOL !! Enjoy this beautiful car !!

    That's quite interesting. Door tag states August 1969, and SPD on the fender tag is 802. This car was built on the 2nd day of production, August 2nd, 1969. Pilot cars were usually sent down August 1st after a changeover in late July when the lines were stopped for model year switchover.
    Years back, I owned a '71 Dart Swinger with VIN ending in 100331, SPD also of 802. It was a nothing special car, but it was born in a striking color combination: FE5 Rallye Red, V1X Black Vinyl top and H6XW Black & White vinyl interior with bucket seats. From the documents I found with the car, it sat around until MAY of 1972 when it was finally painted GOLD to satisfy a customer and probably clear it off the lot.

    Guys in 1990 I bought a 1970 road runner that was raced every summer, and spent it`s Michigan winters in the garage, it was an original air grabber car, air grabber still worked, my build sheet was in the exact same spot under the rear seat. I sent copies of the fender tag and build sheet to Galien Govier, who knows more about these Mopars than anyone should, he decoded everything, it was a pretty rare car, but nothing like yours, one more option and that would need a second fender tag, this is either an early build for dealer showrooms, or an executive ordered it this way, nobody picked that many options, it was way too expensive back then, on insurance alone, Yeah the Hemi leaf springs were standard I believe when you got the track pack with dana 60, it is a 9 3/4 gear set, they were heavy, but took a beating, this car has an incredible list of options, they just don`t exist anymore. I would bet to the right buyer, like a Jay Leno type of person this is a $200,000 car just the way it sits right now, any millionare would love to get there hands on this, they just are not around anymore, this is highly optioned, a very rare find indeed, if I were a millionare I would come get it right now for 200k. this car properly frame off restored would probably fetch a million dollars easily at Barrett Jackson today, the options make it crazy rare today, if it all checks out, it is one rare survivor, to say the least.

    The 440 6 pack has a Edelbrock manifold and 3 2 barrel carburetors that makes it look like it was modified by the owner, but those were made in the factory like that.
    Now the SuperBIRD was mostly assembled with the other road runners then it went to a shop that Chrysler had a contract with where they added the wing and the other parts that distinguish it from stock roadrunners.
    This Coronet will bring in a King's ransom at an auction.

Since then, how many significant historical musclecars in various conditions have been found, not to mention just your average 50s, 60s, 70s & even 80s rides for example the Buick GNX? And here we are in 2023 & a guy finds one of the first if not the first 1970 Superbee 440 6pak 4 speed track pack off the assembly line? 'Nuff said.

    Even though it has the Y16 Sales Bank code they used to load up those early production cars with a lot of the options to check the assembly line procedures and installation practices to inspect the fit and finish to make changes or corrections for the options later on in the production year.
    Normally that car should have the torque boxes in front of the rear spring mounts and in the front under the door hinge pillar area off of the rocker panel. Same as the Hemi cars had. I've seen them on all convertibles, Hemi, 6bbl and 'most' 440 HP cars. Some 440-4 HP cars have them and some don't. I think the reason that car doesn't is that it was such an early build and the body wasn't designated for the engine when they needed a 'body in white' for the order number or the line worker just missed it. If you've never seen the torque boxes on the rear before it would be hard to miss them. You can't even see the nuts for the front spring mount bracket. Even harder to take the nuts off.

    • @tatortot9817
      @tatortot9817 Рік тому

      Torque boxes were not used on ‘66-70 B bodies, other than convertibles and Hemi cars. The 440 4bbl and 440 6 pack hardtop models didn’t come with torque boxes.
      1971 B bodies did come with torque boxes with the U, V and R code engine options and again in ‘72 with the U and early on cancelled V codes.
      For some reason, all 70-1 E bodies with the U, V and R codes came equipped with the boxes.

    My Uncle had one of those, his was Baby Blue (not Petty Blue) with a White Vinyl Roof, White Interior, and his is the only one I've ever seen that had the Daytona Wing, although only half the height of the D. Wing. Whether or not it was a Factory option I don't know, but it's the only one I've ever seen with it...if memory serves his had the 383, but I could be wrong...

    I have an original cast iron six pack intake that I would be willing to trade for aluminum version if you need one I'm a hot rodder not a restorer so I would rather have aluminum

    • @91saleen92
      @91saleen92  2 роки тому +3

      The car came with a cast iron 6-Pack intake with a date code of 7 21 69. It's not the original one for the car, it was purchased at a swap meet, and I believe the casting date is a little late to be correct. I have heard that some early build '70s came with the Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold because Chrysler had a bunch left over from the '69 run. That would be my preference for the car.

Interestingly, I bought a 70 CORONET 500/ loaded /383 /Turq engine/ @ some $3100… ( dealer next Door to,my Drugstore where I worked after Pharmacy School… Frankly, I drove many, & looked CLOSELY at SUPER BEES/BOSS 429/302/ GTO,JUDGE/TALLEDEGAS/SUPer Bird (( to long and Dramatic, also) ) , were way to,costly for us just out of School. Oddly, took overnight a 1970 DART340/ODD GREEN COLOR:: tuned & prepped by DEALER for “Pursuit”, big tires, DISC BRAKES:: was the hottest / tightest driving..ForD Dealer wouldn’t it let me take a BOSS 302 home for Feat Drive!
