I have no pity for people who bought fuwalos early. Between them and april, there are plenty of events they could go to to get their momey's worse. Plus, this is a card game, not an investment, especially with how volatile the banlist can be.
Most people who bought Fuwa early probably agree with you. I bought S:P and Engraver early and did not regret my purchases at all because I got a lot of use out of them at locals.
Can we stop calling childrens playing cards "investments"? I work a 9-5 man. Playing yugioh competitively doesnt earn you any money; the least they could do is make their game affordable so that i can play it

I'm just here to play man, tired of being priced out of playing hobbies legitimately because there are dorks out there who feel the need to monetize every hobby out there. Its a similar thing that happened with retro games where prices have spiked for the last decade for no damn reason other than there are dorks who have more money than sense. At least with old games I can just mod most old systems and get the same experience. With card games you either have to limit yourself to fanmade simulators or have your casual playgroups be ok with proxying.
This is why Master Duel is the move. You can pay all of zero dollars to play the game, and even if you did spend money, it would still end up being less than you would get playing TCG
I disagree that most players will find a way. If it’s between rent and mulcharmy play sets people pay rent. It’s too much to ask someone to buy 500$ worth of cards to have them be worthless in a year. Yugioh player are actually insane. There would be more competitive players if there wasn’t a gross greed on Konamis end. Just print things in low and high rarity. Problem solved. Idk why there’s a pay wall on the accessibility of the game. You basically chose to ignore that fact when you say “players will find a way”
@@dpacula63 Not true if you sell them yourself via cardmarket etc.. Selling them to a vendor instead is just asking to be ripped off, that's on you buddy. Most of the time you will break even (minus the shipping costs) or make a negligible loss. Sometimes the cards will even go up in price. Ofc there are also times when card prices crash and you take a big hit. But with a little bit of forward planning you can mitigate that risk.
I WANT to play in major yugioh tournaments, but the unfortunate truth is i cant just pull out a goddamn mortgage to buy engravers and mulcharmies and pay for travel expenses
As someone who stepped away from the TCG back in 2010, I'm having a blast getting back into it even with how complicated things may be correctly. I'm hyped for the reprints and new sets to build some decks to compete 😤

I've been playing ABC since 2016. I don't mean I've put down the deck and picked up another deck and left ABC as a jank casual deck. I've been playing the deck competitively since 2016. Sure, I've played other decks in that time. But ABC has been my main deck. I only put it more the side line recently, like within the year, to play Branded. People WILL find a way to play Yu-Gi-Oh at the competitive level, no matter what.
going in big for cards that can be banned is such a stupid thing. If the paywall was lower would mean it wouldnt suck as hard and that everyone understands the pain of a bn instead of the rich vendors
I still think RA01 will go down as the best "rarity" set RA02 had some great and well needed reprints but the structure and price are not good RA03 had some great cards as well and the nostalgia pool makes it so that every player that has ever cared about Yugioh will want some cards out of the set RA04 looks promising but still, RA01 made the game finally affordable even for casuals. That set is also holding a lot of value.
Konami : What can we do instead of making a better printing system like in the OCG ? I know sometime we will make another product with some expensives cards like this rich players that already pay for the 90-300€ playset will be upset and budget players must wait to get those powerfull staples or archetypes. I precise 2 things : it's nice to me to get good reprints of expensive cards, I just tell this because it feel like an excuse to continue the awful ultra and secrete only that are hard to pull of boosters, and 2 : I am a budget player.
I only agree with expensive engines. Do think they need to make generic engines cheaper like fiendsmith and stick to engines specific for decks. For staples I completely disagree. Impactful staples like the mulcharmy cards inherently make a deck more powerful. And as we all know, the reason cards like those are expensive at all is the TCG puts them in way higher rarities than they should (few was a rare in the OCG). Will players buy them, sadly yes. But unless you are either sponsored or just loaded with money, this effect creates a domino effect of new players not wanting to play, older players either stepping out of the format or for good due to prices being too high, and even watchers tend to get bored when the same people are winning with the exact same cards and decks. Big picture results in less money for Konami.

a trading card game shouldnt be an investment but something everyone can have fun with without going negative 3000 for a deck
