I honestly love watching you guys react to this. I’m 31 and watched AoT (my first ever anime) last year and after finishing, instantly became a top five show of all time for me. This all coming from someone that SWORE I would never enjoy any sort of anime.
@kalina1871 I'm in my 50s, introduced my mother, in her 70s to AoT earlier this year. She also love it. At first, I thought she was just humoring me, but then I caught her watching it on her own in her room. 😁
I enjoy this, the reactions. It's nice and refreshing to see some adults take interest in such a fascinating story. I'm 37 myself and hardly watch anime, but my niece back in the day introduced me to attack on Titan and it's very well done.
I'm 51. There's a lot of great anime. Death Note of course. Frieren. Depends how weird or how normal you like it. I like the weirder stuff. Madoka Magica is a classic. It tricks you. It starts off all cute like an anime for children and then gets really dark. Made in Abyss is the same way but I don't recommend Made in Abyss. It's too dark. Spy Family is really cute. Kaguya-Sama Love is War is a really well written and funny romantic comedy. Steins Gate is about this guy who is Larping as a mad scientist to cheer up a sad girl and accidentally invents a time machine. Gushing over Magical Girls is absolutely the filthiest mainstream anime ever made. I don't know how it got made. The plot is actually pretty funny. Onimai is a trick also. It seems really dirty but it gets more and more wholesome. ReZero, Reincarnated as a Slime and Konosuba are excellent Isekai. The Apothecarys Diary is just really watchable. It's hard to describe.
@Dragon-Believer I'm 51 as well! My nephew introduced me to AoT back when there was only 1 season. I have since introduced my 72 year old mother, who also loves it!
@@almaicardi that's cool. I've always watched anime though. We had anime on local TV when I was a child. There was a show called Star Blazers in the late 1970s. I think its important to note that Eren's dream in episode 1 and Eren's fiery transformation in the previous episode were anime-only additions. The anime studio made a lot of creative liberty changes in season 1 that don't refledt the rest of the story (manga or anime), going forward. Its best not to think about those things as they arent canon and will only confuse you. Might be good to make sure they know that. That said, Eren DID have a dream sleeping beneath that tree during that scene. They just changed the dream. May be worth checking out what the original, canonical, dream was.

Okay, you said the 'No Regrets' OVAs have been watched, but what about 'Ilse's Notebook'? That OVA is also very plot-prominent and needs to be watched before S2 Ep2. Otherwise, they will not get any reaction when the freckled girl who hangs around Christa reveals her name for the first time in Ep2. Also, Hange will be surprised to know the name of that girl in Ep3, but you guys are already on Ep7 in Patreon, and I don't know how you will rectify it. For many, the second season is the best of all, I completely disagree, the entire third season is the best, for me it was what gave the anime its name. ❤
Is it only me or is the translation of the subs kinda off. Idk I watched the French and german subs for AOT when I watched it first and for many things the english version in some episodes is not the same and gives some "false" or innacurate translations and informations (i don't understand japanese enough to know for sure the correct translation) But for example the instant when Pastor Nick talks to Hansi about the titan in the wall. Here it says somthing like "whatever you do you must keep the titan out of sunlight" (which is again confusing for them with their sunlight theory about the titans they already have for so long) In the french/german sub it says something like " whatever you do you must keep this titan out of sight (from other people to see) since it's a big secret that's supposed to be hidden. Other example the beast titan when here he said " oh you use swords so you know we reside in the neck" (which would mean or imply every titan has someone risiding in it's neck "controling" them) Fr/ger version he says " oh so you know our neck is our weak point". I know those are little details but in many episodes the english subs throw me off and confuse me with innacurate informations about the story here (never watched it in english except on this reaction channel). So I would like to know if the english subs are like this in general and it's normal or do they got a bad translation one for some episodes?
Short answer: This English subtitle is accurate. Long answer: What Pastor Nick told Hange was 「当てるな。。。あの巨人に日光を当てるな!」 (Ateruna, ano kyojin ni nikkou wo ateruna!) which means "don't apply...don't apply sunlight to that titan!" because the titan might start moving if applied sunlight. So it's accurate. The next one, what the Beast titan said was 「やっぱうなじにいるってことは知ってんだね」(Yappa, unaji ni irutte koto wa shittendane) which means "so as expected, you know that (we're/someone is) in the nape" and the "we're/someone is" is interchangeable because Japanese is a context-based language and subjects that are known to both speakers/listeners can be omitted and the conversation will still be understandable. What the Beast omitted could be either "we're/someone is" or even maybe "a human is". This doesn't apply to all titans, sure, but I'm sure that the Beast is only talking about specific titans because they're the main powerful enemies. Anyway, this translation is also accurate. So from these examples, the English one is much much more accurate than the Fr/Ger versions.
@ohsweetsummerchild5141 thanks for taking the time explaining and translating all this for me. Guess I will stay confused for all the episodes to come in english if I watched AOT for years with the French and germab subs then ^^' But I see the good side. I Rediscover AOT under a different angle once again haha
@@Kao_Kaou You're welcome. The translations I gave are literal translations, to show the bare-bones meaning of Japanese. @ohsweetsummerchild5141 yeah I know. I watched many different translation since most of the time it was fansubs. Some are really bad but you spot them pretty early and can change for another one. But most have similar translations and for the French one most of the recent ones are all alike. I know for a fact to translate Japanese or Korean to French is not the most efficient way and you get much lost in translation. That's also why I asked, bc I already thought that the French and german translation would probably be a little different and differe from the english one. But was curious and wanted to know for sure wich one would be "best translated"
