I get the Hopkick nerfs but nerfing shaheen's 4,1 was unnecessary ....and 4 into db2 doesn't work anymore which makes his magic 4 alone pretty much useless
You didnt mention that he got better punishment now, they added 2,3 as 10 frame punish instead of 2,1 and also his f2,3 gives you a knockdown and wallsplat.

Man shaheen needs a major upgrade after this. how do you nerf a character who's already nerfed(after FR update) and he got the most limited movelist in the entire series? How?
Shaheen was absolutely broken in 7.0. He was my highest ranked character and that was 90% just 4,1 spam, which for a time jailed and was -1 on block. He also got a free, guaranteed unscaled ws+3 at the end of combos. Shaheen is yeah a bit weaker than in Season 1, but he's still really solid, and imo a more fun and diverse character to play.
Another big nerf in Shaheen's neutral game was making his db+2 unsafe at -10. In previous seasons you could fish with it and it was pretty easy to hit confirm but now you can't even do the first part as a poke. It feels unnecessary because plenty characters have a safe mid into a hit confirmable high (Lee's f+2,1 and King's df+2,1 for example).
For anyone claiming that Shaheen is dead, etc;. just a reminder that AK got second at EVO Japan this year using Shaheen almost entirely throughout. Nerfed? Yeah. Massacred? Hell no.

Shaheen is so simple, yet extremely fun to play. If you really want to learn how to play Tekken using fundamentals, movement and basic mixups without the need for great execution then he is the perfect choice.

It would be nice if they recolored or redesigned some of these stages. Overwrite the current stages. After every other update or something even Would really be nice...because most of the maps in this game look terrible Seriously some of the worst stages I've ever seen. Playstation 2 fighting maps look better which is just shameful
Hey just started playing the game recently, love your channel man. Any videos of yours you recommend that go over basic fundamentals like footsies, spacing and neutral? I mostly have trouble with reacting to lows and knowing when to block or try to parry. Also when I'm dragunov and do b2~1, 3, 1+2 where you feint sweep into grab, i always get punched when the guy reacts (i was facing a really good smurf with a 100% winrate) when he crouches. So the move seems completely useless and garbage cause the opponent can crouch and block it and launch punish or just punch you out of the grab. It sucks.
SunbroSolaireTV I’m also a drag main, what he did was fuzzy guard the move making that specific move sort of useless against experienced players. However if u do the b,2,1 then do it again immediately after, but do not sweep, it trips them up a little. Usually once u condition them to think u won’t do the sweep when ever u begin to get some pressure on them the b,2,1,3 sweep will hit, u may only get to do it once per match so make the most of it.
B 2,1 faint into the grab doesn't work the better you get. A better move is b 4,2 ~1+2. That string is normally supposed end on a plus frame high, so many people duck it. The 1+2 faints into the ultimate tackle. Not many expect the take down. While of course none of the grabs are guaranteed, it's still viable against experienced players to throw from time to time.
Till his SNK stance is pretty much useless only a selected few will play him. Players need gimmicks, he only relies on fundamentals. (PS: Shaheen main)

@@arcadescrub5138 Claudio has way more character than Shaheen, and starbirst is a great UNIQUE tool. The majority of the playerbase are not pros, they use gimmicks they dont play the perfect way. There is a reason, why the most popular characters have unique moves, that relies on the opponent to know rhe matchup. Shaheens fundamental tools are great, his punishment is easy top 5, only need a couple of moves to separare his char from the rest.(not just a law lee hibrid)
@@diam0ndben but starburst doesn't give itself out for free, yes it's a unique tool but all it does is buff certain moves(season 2 onward) Claudio WITHOUT starburst is no dif from Shaheen, bad lows, decent highs and good mids All characters in fighters need moves to make them "scary" aka require match up knowledge otherwise you just get the "negan treatment"(learning the match up isn't necessary because alot of his moves are visually unsafe) Claudio and Shaheen are basic characters with tools to make one learn the match up but they're not that scary(Shaheen stealth stance,and Claudio's starburst) both are conceptually great but aren't standout in practice
Let's be real here though. Only a small molecular section of the community actually give a damn about shaheen Most other people just don't care. I myself sometimes even forget the man is on the roster lol
Kinda unrelated, but I always wondered something. Why do most Bryan players use that double knee move at the wall instead of Machine Gun punch ? If I’m not mistaken doesn’t it do more damage ?
Yeah he is definitely worse then season 1. He should get buffed in some other way tho. I don't get why his f 3+4 move doesn't hit grounded like Lee. His stance 2 has been buffed with it being save but you don't get anything really good out of it, like there is no good follow up from a counterhit. the limited movelist doesn't hurt Kazumi because here moves have great properties not so much with Shaheen, really cool character that they just abandoned. Probably because he isn't going to be in the next game and with the nerfs the player rate will drop and eventually people will forget him when Tekken 8 is announced.

Kings isn't HC, they can duck or block the high if you delay even on hit (must be counter hit) But yh that is a silly change to shaheen

Pls give Shaheen something to deal with pushback moves. His movelist is just too small.
F2,3 is a reasonably good long range punisher. Works with mid get up kicks, improperly spaced death fists, etc.

in this case it means that certain moves are less effective than they used to be.
like a move that was + 3 on block, but now only + 1 on block
