Wow. That interior is a serious departure for GM. Very nicely done.
Agreed
Yet all the haters who think GM is still unreliable junk will attack us with pitchforks 😂
I think the interior looks absolutely gorgeous, much better than the old one, and I love that steering wheel design, reminds me of older Buick cars for some reason. As an avid Lexus fan, I have to say as much as this hurts I think Buick may have done a better interior than Lexus. Hopefully we get a TX refresh soon, that adds some real wood trim and more interior colors
It’s okay 😂. You can say the tx is worse than GM now.
@@naveenthemachine the TX isn’t worse, it still offered more compelling powertrains, probably better NVH, definitely better predicted reliability, and hybrid/plug-in hybrid powertrains, plus things like heated and cooled second row seats
@@alwaysiyi272 I don’t think its compelling in any way
I wouldn’t call any of the powertrains compelling. The base turbo 350 is as slow as a rav4 or corolla yet it starts at $55K, more expensive than an MDX. The 500h is barely faster than a base ford explorer 2.3 but it’s significantly more expensive at $70k. That’s very similar in price to an xc90 PHEV. Yet the 500h gets lower fuel economy than that Volvo and has significantly less power and significantly worse performance. The 550h+ is also incredibly expensive at $80K. That’s what a well equipped xc90 can cost. Not to mention that you have to spend over $80K just to get a v6, let alone a naturally aspirated v6. It’s not like the v6 in the tx is the same twin turbo v6 as the tundra or LS. The tx basically uses the Camrys 3.5L v6 yet you have to spend over 80K just to get that one thing. You can get a naturally aspirated v6 in the competition for significantly less money than the tx.
The tx also looks ugly vs other SUVs. Unlike a bmw XM or M3, styling is not subjective as it doesn’t make up for it by excelling in every other way. And don’t even get me started on the interior. The Tx and to an extent the RX both have the worst interiors in the segment. Cheap materials abound, no leather doors or dash or airbag cover or acres of wood trim. Combine that with useless tech that nobody asked for like the touchpad hud or electric door handles or the complete lack of physical controls, lack of features, no 8th seat, and again a very steep price tag, the tx is a flat out nonstarter.
@@naveenthemachine
Keep schooling these Toyota/Lexus fanatics who keep praising the sub-par Lexus TX. 😂😆
@@TheBjjones agreed. They have no idea 😂
Aside from the all-screen dash, I love the interior design. The white and blue upholstery looks very classy. Far more luxurious in appearance than Lexus. As for the exterior, the rear looks nice and inoffensive. On the other hand, the new Buick corporate face only looks great on the Envista. It was taken from one of their concept cars, which is very sleek. Trying to apply it to boxy front ends doesn't look great.
Same thing I said. We just got an Envista, and I love the way it looks. Not loving this look on the Enclave. Interior is pretty nice. But Lexus had the same issue with their “spindle grille” being applied to larger cars.
I can't believe that Buick is making multiple SUVs that I think look nice.
Buick is getting on their A game. Nice SUV!
The blue interior is extremely modern and beautifully executed! Love it!
Does this mean Cadillac is about to go absolutely crazy with their interiors and overall design. Bc if this is Buick Cadillac better bring their A game
They are the Lyriq is stunning, the celestiq is nuts and their upcoming evs like the escalade iq look incredible
Beautiful interior. Loving the blue. I can't decide between this one and the 2025 MDX 😊
4:57 Buick is really only making the drivers side front window auto up/down? Holy cost-cutting, Batman!
It's a pre-production model stuff like that isn't official until it hits the dealer lots
Most GM models have auto down for passengers, but not auto up.
@@chudson4500 Yeah that’s probably not it. Like the guy below me alluded to, most GM models (including premium ones like Buick/Cadillac) only do auto up/down for the front and auto down for the rear to cut costs. This is just shocking to see Buick remove auto up from the passenger side front window, but again: cost-cutting.
@RCtennis3811 lucky my 16 CTS had auto up and down on all windows
We just got a 2024 Envista and it has auto-down windows for all 4. But not auto-up for any of the windows.
I love it. I think it looks clean, modern and the interior looks comfortable. It’s definitely something I would put on my list.
3:59 I have been waiting for this for a while now. Welcome to the bright side of things. Head-up display is the right way to say, in fact all manufacturers refer to this feature this way in their documentation. You were one of the last holdouts with your continuous use of HEADZUP display. Welcome, welcome. All joking aside, I appreciate your consistency in your reviews. You are quite thorough and have set the bar high for all other reviewers.
This is very nice. Don't think I'd get a white interior though
Except for the piano black around the cup holders, that is a really nice looking interior.
agreed - the piano black looks horrible with the white/blue interior. I would definitely get them wrapped - or painted. The interior IS nicely designed, however.
Excellent job Alex & this is my good choice.
What kind of kids are you going to put in that Ivory White interior? It's just me and the Mrs, and I'm wondering how much of a challenge it's would be for us to keep it clean!😂 Awesome job Buick!
Needs a hybrid engine for fuel economy and power.
Wow, that Avenir interior and exterior styling is handsome 👏 😍 Very nice redesign, Buick 😊
As far as I’m concerned this is the best looking entry in its class.
I think the design of the screens Buick is using on this and their other vehicles, is really kinda cool. It has a 50's/60's flair somehow.
I am impressed, I always had Buicks. I would love to purchase this, but the biggest drawback is, no hybrid. I’m so disappointed!😢
Interior is really beautiful!!
Alex, thanks for your reply. A few additional questions. Does it take regular fuel or premium? I have recently test driven the QX60, MDX and Palisade. What would be your preference among those vehicles? I know u have not had a chance to drive the Buick. The Korean twins Telluride and Palisade have updated versions coming out later this year. On track to replace one of our vehicles in the next 12 months. Enjoy your youtube reviews!
Beautiful exterior and interior.
Landscape LCD, column shifter, very very nice simple-clean-elegant dashboard layout. No oversized/overstyled air vents. Great!
- - - - - - - - - -
Center console layout is also very good,
back to front: large storage box, side-by-side cup holders, phone holder/wireless charger.
Plus extra cup holders in the back end for rear passengers.
This is a very good layout that's essentially similar to the one in the Cybertruck, and some other EV's.
hopefully the shiny black plastics don't go into production
I never thought l would be impressed by a contemporary Buick....but this is a stunning vehicle inside and out. Those taillights on the Avenir are works of art! I do also like that it's made in the US, not Asia like other Buicks.
B-pillar mounted bottle holders would avoid any spilling drinks and be out of the way, since, you know, they're stationary.
They really should make a luxe top trim Avenir with just 4 seats shoved as far apart as possible if captain's chairs are going to be standard anyway.
Looking super nice, hope it’s made here in the USA beings that it is a Buick if not then the MDX will be in my garage this summer.
If only they could make a sedan with this new design language
In looking at the exterior I first thought I was looking at an Lexus TX. In fact the length is about the same though the Buick is wider. I have never been excited about the look of Lexus so feel the same about this Buick (I currently have an older Enclave). the interior is nice though not sure I like the screen. it just looks kind of weird. But if diffently think it looks much more classy than the Lexus TX
At first I thought Alex had mis-titled a Lexus TX video. The front ends look surprisingly similar!
@Threxx
Except the Enclave's front end looks more refined & elegant.
Great review, Alex. I must admit, this vehicle was well done. If it is reliable, this will be a big seller for Buick. Nice to see Buick making a comeback in the industry.
is the super cruise section still heated?
I have some shiny black plastic on my 18 month old BMW and no scratches!!!
Damn! I’m not a SUV kinda of guy but WOW that interior is gorgeous!
I did not see any USB ports in the front only in the rear. Aside from that I love the interior.
Alex you mentioned driving the Traverse by the time we would have seen this video. Do you know when you’ll be able to share that Traverse driving review video?
Alex, are fog lights available on any trim? Same for power folding mirrors? Initial looks from your review its looks appealing.!
It does not look like any model will get fog lights
@@AAutoBuyersGuidewell that's a bit of an oversight!
No PHEV or HEV for a new vehicle in 2025? Does it use leaded gas as well?
Messed up the rear wiper location. Finally has a proper gear selector.
I think it's a very nice vehicle. Buick did a great job 👏 👍 🙌
Is this slightly bigger than a Lexus TX? Seems like it.
I love that blue! Honestly this dead horse needed something! But they didn’t do the bare minimum for once. Now did they do that ethos when it comes to transmission is the even bigger question
Waiting for the reliability report after few years
Absolutely gorgeous exterior reminds me of porsche
My very first car was a 1993 Buick Regal GS, 4 door. I paid 20k for it all in. I was 24 years old. That vehicle served me well for about 8-9 years before it started experiencing all sorts of electrical issues. Loved the car but it became dangerous to drive when the engine would just suddenly shut off driving on a highway at 55 and I would realize it as the gas pedal suddenly became unresponsive. Then I would look at dash and see red lights and have to throw the car into neutral and try to restart it. Donated the car and bought a 2001 F-150 Super Crew Lariat trim, 36k out the door, after 9/11 attack. Still have that vehicle today. I am suddenly 55 years old! Ouch!
Probably obvious answer, but I'm gonna ask anyway: does putting a steering wheel cover on affect the driver monitoring system?
More two-tone interiors please!!! Even if it's gray on slightly less gray, I'd choose the two-tone over monochrome every time.
Yes it would
Looks surprisingly nice but will it be reliable?
Overall, very nice exterior and interior design changes. I like that Buick got rid of some of the bubble look, especially between the C and D pillars. Big improvement. Having said this I'm not quite so enamored with the front grill. It reminds me of the new Grand Highlander and TX. I have a 2019 Enclave and have always appreciated it's well-done front-end design. The new look is just too much grill
It’s a nice redesign taken from the new Acadia, but I didn’t like the shark eye lights on the Jeep Cherokee in the past, not doing anything for me now too. Parents had the previous generation model. Hope the new engine is better on fuel, that previous V6 was worse that a v8 truck on fuel. Hope they also decreased the weight, as the previous generation went through discs, brakes and shocks after only 2.5 years.
For everyone shocked at the interior, Buicks always had colorful, attractive interiors until the mid/late-90s. This is a return to what Buick traditionally was.
Wow a Buick that looks nice
Great idea putting the turbo v6 back into it.
That’s a turbo 4 cylinder not V6
Lincoln nautilus taillights, pretty much identical.
I said the same thing.
Buick just deleted the Surround Vision Recorder feature from the new Enclave. Too bad cause this really differentiated the new Enclave from the new Acadia and Traverse.
Curious if in 2-3 years these will be PHEV
The Chevy traverse 2024 looks great as well with the same engine/transmission and overall size. Why would I buy this one instead? Trying to understand the value proposition that’s all. Thanks.
That is an attractive and spacious car .. sure there is no hybrid but there is value in all of the other places
We love it
Again, Alex knocks it out of the park.
Nice!!!!!!💯💯💯
The rear window is super tiny.
If they had a PHEV option, this would be at the top of my list to check out this fall. Unfortunately, it's GM, so ixnay on PHEVs.
Bravo Buick ❤
I think the position of the headlights and DRLs should be swapped. Otherwise, great design.
White seats and carpet? Lol good luck with keeping that clean.
The outside is giving grand highlander
General Motors will celebrate our world's 125th anniversary since from 1908 to 2033 made in Detroit & all around the world!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍
Outgoing model looked better outside imo. Buick's new corporate front end is at its best in the Envista but doesn't quite fit well in other models. Love the blue-ivory combination inside. Definitely more luxurious looking than the drab and dour interior of the Lexus TX.
I agree, the TX interior feels really good, material and quality wise, but, with the lack of wood and color, it definitely doesn’t look as good or premium as this Buick. No doubt the quality would be better
@@alwaysiyi272 Lexus definitely needs to rethink its interiors. Better for them to combine this gen's tech with the warmth of the previous gen interiors.
@@mark_uthat will never happen. Lexus as a brand is dying. They are where Infiniti used to be. Lexus is becoming more irrelevant and objectively nonexistent
@@mark_u
As long as Akio Toyoda is still in the fold at Toyota/Lexus pulling the strings, that will never happen.
Beautiful MCR designs!! GM needs to invest more marketing money into Buick and all models will sell like hotcakes!!
Did you forget the XT6?
Don’t like it at all! While I am a previous owner of an Enclave, this one gives me zero inspiration to look at. The proportions are off. Hood and nose dive for sporting intentions only to meet a box rear at the A pillar. This went from top 2 on my 3 row SUV to not even considered.
We need more 100miles PHEV battery With high speed nacs /dc charging
I like the colors but the lower interior/seat back color should be dark. After a year of use, the lower sections will look very bad from wear and tear. I wish manufacturers of family SUVs would understand this.
...or teach kids not to eat/drink in the vehicle. (They're most likely overweight according to govt. statistics and not starving)
@@davidgrisco1939it's not the food that's the issue, it's their feet.
Where’s the rear window shades!? Huge miss on a vehicle of this price!
Nice ride. Should’ve left the V6 in there. And, would like real “steam driven” gauges along with push buttons on the dash. Is this Buick’s last hurrah in the USA? Note their sales are dropping here and are buttressed - for now - in China.
If they updated the V6 perhaps, and I think sales were dropping because they decidedly lacked updates and competitiveness in the past few years. These new models seem to bring them back to an extent though only time will tell if their target demographic takes.
This turbo-4 makes more power/torque with improved fuel economy
@@ALMX5DPHe meant sales are dropping in China. That's mainly due to domestic Chinese brands becoming more popular and offering more EVs. Buicks sales in the US have been steadily increasing.
@@CrazyWeeMonkeyin theory. Reliability remains to be seen.
Great looking vehicle but channeling the TX and GHL a bit? The "grand" departure from Buick's traditional look a bit obvious. Still handsome though, even arguably better execution than those "others."
Nits:
- No bench available
- White or very light carpet a big no. Most manufacturers have long since figured this out, including on otherwise light interiors like this. (Even Porsche oddly (bizarrely) had white and light beige/tan carpeting on its 911s back in the day, a real pain to keep clean more than a day).
- It also looks like, with that copious headroom in the back (3rd) row, Buick would have the space to jack the bottom cushions another inch off the floor, and maybe with a touch more up-angle than what we're seeing on the video, and still have headroom to spare.
- At least in the camera view of Alex in the 3rd row, the actual functional see-thru portion of the rear window is quite small (despite external appearances) looking to be caused by the excessive the wrap-around of the D pillar structure. This, in combo with the small side (rear quarter) windows possibly resulting in or exaccerbating a claustrophobic feeling back there? With that kick-up rear side styling, which is otherwise quite attractive, there's not much they can do about that side window, but maybe they can work on that rear window/rearward visibility? (yeah, I know, 'there are cameras for that these days'...).
- Edit - as others gave mentioned, also not a fan of the all screen business...but if we've gotta do it, at least it's curved, and this Jetsons style has a bit of flair (I'm trying!)
- Still not a fan of the alternative shifters, would still prefer a console like the Cadillac at least...but column a better solution than the fakakta dial-o-shift and button push-pull jobs.
When I saw the spyshots, I didn't like it. After this video, it's gorgeous 😍. ST AWD for me.
Wow. If this car drives as well as it looks, Buick might just be able to move past its old fart image and into Lexus’ space.
Interior looks great. Exterior looks kind of half baked.
Nice interior. Agree that it does look better than the Lexus TX interior.
Exterior looks like a stretched Chevy Trax. Just not attractive at all.
Would probably still go Lexus for its implied reliability.
Interior screams Lincoln...which is a good thing
Just ask the Genesis GV80
The grill on the front end looks bad. Its 'ok' on the ST model, but terrible on non-ST trims.
Lexus TX?
Lexus TX who?
I thought the tx got wiped out of existence since it’s just uncompetitive in every way
Unfortunately 4 banger in place of v6.
OMG, No super light carpet please, otherwise, great
GM cars are well priced and have good features and designs both on the interior and exterior. Reliability is a concern though
So the new buick looks like a toyota/lexus
The new Lincoln looks like the old Buick.
Boy these car designers are really pushing the boundaries of fimiliarity.
The Avenir is nicer than the Traverse RS but the Traverse RS is nicer than the Enclave ST...would be a tough choice
Honestly dont understand why anyone would buy this over a minivan or bof suv.
난 최근 뷰익디자인이 GM을 통털어 가장 진보 됐다고 생각 했었는데, 이건 너무 멀리간 느낌이다
the avenir needs more blue on the inside. I will NEVER like a combination of gold and silver - they need to make it cohesive. Also - the lower portions of the floor and carpet should be darker - maybe this is where they could bring in more blue. Beautiful car, however.
Love the car. Actual light switches. Love the shifter. I wish there was center console drawer for the back. No bench seat? That sucks. White interior is a no.
Cadillac Super Cruise? try GM it's found in all of GM's brands now and was only just introduced in Cadillac. GM's going to have it in everything except maybe it's lowest priced vehicles.
Dumb move from GM. Should only be kept in Cadallic and high trim Full SiZE SUV
When manufacturers make such nice interiors, I think they need to realize how dirty their customer’s houses even are when you are catering to people with kids.
Looks really nice minus the ugly front grill. Looks like a copy of a Lexus or Honda front end.
4 cylinder? Won't last, super cruise? You have to pay extra for. Cost more, get less!
These car manufacturers keep designing more and more elaborate grills with total disregard for the ability to clean them. Yikes.
I wonder if Buick design is done by GM Korea. Buick design is as good as Hyundai's better designs. Very impressive.
Buick design would be handled more between it's two main markets. US and China.
Nothing about the st is “sportier” different color taillights don’t add anything to it.
Looks nice - interior looks like they copied the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy we have!
I am waiting for the Palisade redesign. Your Palisade Calligraphy trim has more (minus the Super Cruise), than the Enclave Avenue trim. Still missing ventilated 2nd row seats, and heated 3rd row seats. Hyundai Palisade has the turn camera blindspot mirrors, etc, for around $8,000 - $10,000 less at both these vehicles top trims. Heck even the Santa Fe has partial power 2nd row seats. I have a 2020 Palisade SEL with 2 upgrade packages.
If Buick sells this to undercut the competition they’re going to gut Lincoln! But I don’t get why anyone would get this over the palisade telluride except because of dealer access, like in rural communities this would kill the ford/stellantis/chev options!
