Thanks for sharing this hack. Especially for the examples of which patterns will work for adding sleeves. I’ll have to give this a try! 💕

Thanks so much for the instructions. I was wondering about the ins and outs of adding sleeves and you explained this very well. God bless you.

Thanks for sharing! It looks simple. I thought it would be more difficult than this. You make it look easy. Thanks for sharing

Great pattern hacking!!!!! I will also add, I've made that bicep adjustments so many times. Its standard adjustment, usually by 1/2" every single time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you are measuring the length of the armhole, you should be measuring along the stitching line, not the cutting line, and those lines on that commercial pattern are the cutting line, are they not (?) - which (usually on a commercial pattern) includes the seam allowance - right?

I got all confused about adding and subtracting seam allowances :(

Sorry to hear that. Basically, I am just letting viewers know that they should account for seam allowance for the bodice pattern and sleeve pattern. You don't need to do this IF the length of the sleeve pattern and the bodice front and back are the same length. However, if you want to know the exact length of the armhole without seam allowance, you need to subtract the seam allowance for that info. For example, if the total length of the armhole is 20" and seam allowance is 5/8", your finished armhole length is now 18.75". That may be important information. In my case, my armhole measures at 19". This tells me I would need to add just a little more length to the pattern for ease. I hope that makes sense. The short of it is, in most cases you want to know how much seam allowance you're working with to get the right length for the front and back bodice armscye, and accommodate for wearing ease. Hope this explains it.
