I think you cannot change unless more introspect yourself than blame your ex.
The key part is what you said at the almost ending part. Your relationship with your parents since your childhood reflected upon the relationship with you and your partner.
There is a Canadian friend of me who has a Japanese partner. She can deal with him greatly. She has never complained about how poor he shows affection in their relationships.
Because the Asian people especially Japanese people don’t hug or kiss or other things in the public or even at home doesn’t mean they don’t love their partners or don’t care their wives/ husbands.
If you and your partner care each other, even shy Japanese person shows their love in the way they do.
like holding hands while walking or say goodbye sweetie, come home safe when you go out, like that.
So, marriage is hard, but that’s why it takes so much time until someone meets someone and get married.
You cannot just act immediately, like, “Ok, I have been dating with this guy for one year or some years, I like him, let’s get married.”
Once after married, you have to discuss all the matters with your husband, not only happy moment but also harsh time.
When your husband lose his job, sometimes you have to buckle yourself to work as a breadwinner.
You have to teach him how to clean the house and choirs if he has never done them.
You are his wife, and when you get kids, you are to be a mom, and sometimes embrace all your family with your big heart like Ave Maria. I’m talking about what you said “I felt like ending up becoming his mom. ”
Oh yes, of course, you have to act like mom sometimes.
Marriage needs a lot of patience because you live someone who are not originally your family.
Next time, you take your time, and know a new guy taking a lot of time. And also, show your love in a peaceful way. Love him kindly as much as you can. If he is the one, he will love you back.
For your ex, H, please don’t say many negative things.
    Just let it go.
He also moves on. He also considered well, and he did his best. Maybe you thought it was insufficient for you, but he did as much as he could, I think.
It was just you guys didn’t work well…

Kayla thank you for being so open and honest and real. I love your energy and the confidence you have in yourself. You are this Amazing Person and Spirit that when I watch your videos I get this energy to make myself a better person. Your ex wasn’t the person for you and anyone that takes the force around you and manipulates it is just taking the essence from you. I love how you Value yourself and how you have grown and your smile 😊 now is real and genuine. I am one of your biggest cheerleaders and I appreciate you. ☺️

You’re probably too young to understand, but there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. Sure, the next guy might be better than your crappy ex, but there will always be new problems. Most people, as they get older, learn to compromise. Those who can’t do that end up getting divorced over and over.

Good luck Kayla. I was watching Haruki’s channel sometimes when you two were together. I am japanese and let me say you two are very young and naive. I felt a lot of your energy on his channel that you do not want nor like that moments. I felt your energy towards to him often and me and my husband( american ) always talked about how immature guys . I am so sorry but we knew you guys are not going to make it...He sounds very self centered and childish. Everyone need to grown and learn . And Grow together is the best thing we been married 17years.. Its rough but when he realized that he needs to change he always do. Thats why Im still with him. But anyway...hope you enjoy your journey and respect yourself first and SPEAK OUT for yourself.
You seems healthier and happier now!!

AND WHAT WILL (YOU) BE BRINGING TO A RELATIONSHIP? I am wondering why someone would want to be in a relationship with you. ❤❤❤

This guy didn’t grow up that time when he wanted a mom around him. When he grows up he’ll understand what love language is his.
I’m sorry you had to deal with that ❤
