Hi YTK bro, I have a plan to buy Kia Sonet automatic transmission but I have confusion between 1 litre turbo petrol 7 speed DCT and 1.5 litre diesel 6 speed torque converter.. I heard turbo engine gets over heated very quickly and maintenance cost is very high.. pls suggest me which one is best for long drive and keeping the vehicle for more than 10 to 12 years..

Can you explain about turbo charged engine life, I am asking this as because most turbo engines are 3 cylinder engines I heard 3 cylinder engine life will less compared to 4 cylinder engines.. Turbo charged engine life will long last like natural petrol engine.. And also please explain turbo engine maintenance part also.. Hope you will explain this part also.. Thank you..

Does the Turbo Charger come in to play from the start, I mean whether it works in initial lower speeds or after a certain amount of speeds, eg : some 60 / 70 kmph based upon vehicles.
Initial pickup & mid range will be very good in turbocharged engines
Sir, Turbo activates only in higher rpm. Eg. 3000+ rmp. In the baleno 1 litre turbo engine example, it gives 150Nm power only when engine throttles at 3000+ rpm. Therefore, compared to normal petrol engine, turbo engines give less mileage but they are more efficient and release less carbon than normal engines. Turbo engine weighs less than normal one and thats the reason why it's used in cars like Tata Nexon that has good build quality (1.3 ton). You can feel the turbo activation when you throttle the engine in low gear, high rpm eg. During overtaking or hill drive. Tata nexon (in Sport or city drive mode) turbo activates at 4000 rpm.
@@midhunchakravarthys4819 Thanks for your reply sir. S, I own a Nexon Diesel. But I haven't seen it going beyond 3500 RPM up to 130kmph, since I don't pedal hard. They intimated me the rpm Needle changes to red colour after a particular level and don't pedel hard to such level as it won't be good for your engine. So while driving I had not noticed it. So I raised a bit only in neutral to check it and found it changing to red colour a @ 4K rpm. I had also driven it @ 150kmph. But I would normally drive @ 100 -120 kmph in highways. In this speed the rpm don't go above 3K and also rpm Needle changing to red. Does the turbo Charger work while I drive?
