That bathroom is beautiful! And the toilet seat idea is awesome! It brought back memories of when I was a kid in Chicago, there was a small shop on Damen & Addison that sold unique toilet seats. There was another little shop up by Ravenswood Hospital as well. They had the coolest see-through toilet seats with flowers in them, others with nautical stuff, Hawaiian theme, just all kinds. They were just so cool! This is really a great idea you had. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I'm super excited to see this process! I hope you will show a lot of it when you put your video together. I can tell from the comments that I'm not the only one who can't wait to see what you decide. I think the seat would be cool as a river scene with frogs and fish and moss like you did for one of your last charcuterie boards and then the lid could be full of leaves and twigs and moss... Maybe some bones in there too. 😅

Reminds me of the 'Evan & Katelyn' video where they used thermochromic pigments and they got a seat that would leave prints when it was used. I believe they fitted it in a guest bathroom, which I thought was a hilarious idea. 🤣🤣

Great job! I can’t wait to see the final results. Your bathroom is decorated really cute. I was thinking baby bear paw prints in your resin seat would look cute with the rest of your decor. I’m sure you have all kinds of ideas tho. I was wondering do you think you’re going to need some type of a cradle surrounding the mold? So, the weight of the resin doesn’t distort it? There’s a foam that’s used for modeling and dioramas, it looks pretty easy to carve. Although, I haven’t ever tried it.. so maybe it just looks easy.😅 There’s a channel.. I think it’s called Mini Bricks? Anyway she does incredible dioramas and she uses it a lot. She has a tool that’s basically just a heated up wire but, it slices through that foam like butter. You did such a great job of pouring the silicone really thick so, maybe it doesn’t need anymore support. Thanks for sharing this massive mold project.❤
This mold is extremely heavy so I don’t anticipate it getting distorted but I think I need a plan b just in case! 😁

I let the bloom move for about 2 hours till it can't move anymore then turn on the heat mat.

I wonder if you could have used a high gloss spray to coat the lid & seat before molding them so the mold would be shiny? I've never made a mold, but it seemed as if that would've been easier than having to top coat a surface with curved edges.

I usually use UV resin when I want to get something shiny before I mold it. But not on this scale.
Hey Michelle, I've seen Pouring Your Heart Out use a super thin coat of silicone on the bottom of full molds to shine them back up again. You could check it out. It'll save on resin. Also, did you try putting a little bit of resin in your elk and then add your glue to the rest of your resin? I'd love to know if that works.
Yes you can do that but my mold has a curve to it so it won’t work properly 🫤
And I haven’t made another elk yet to try that 😑

I love your bathroom, but it's funny how it's not a beach theme since you live in FL! It would be cute with twigs and rope in it! The only toilet seat I can think of someone making was Evan and Katelyn and they used the thermo pigment stuff like they used in mood rings! Too funny! It'd be hilarious to have a sign... Won't the toilet seat bend when the heat of your bottom hits it??? That's what happens with my hair sticks. They bend when they are next to my head. Are you using some special form of resin? PS, you can use silicone putty to attach the toilet lid, etc. It's reusable.
This thing is extremely thick so I don’t think there will be an issue after full cure of 30 days. That’s why I returned the one from Amazon it was way too thin!

You said something about a beach scene. I think a forest scene would look better. Your bathroom is pretty rustic. Beach scenes are not rustic.
I’m doing rustic for my house, when I mentioned the beach scene it would be to list on eBay not for me 😊
