Now do these transfer cases take gear oil or transmission fluid? I mean I should be able to use my sniffer on this one but I like to buy stuff ahead of doing the job instead of running my ass off during the job.
Every single on of these videos skips over how that shift arms comes apart and then I am factually searching is there an inner seal and outter seal??? I mean every geedamn one of these videos skips right over the shift arm seal or seals.
The shift arm on my 1356 has about 15/16 bolt is why I am asking I have not seen a 1356 like the one I have in my 88 F150 that has the nut on the shift arm itself to the trans.
Thanks to you're video I was able to verify if I put everything back that right way😊
Excellent video. Couldn't ask for a better step by step rebuild.

Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is expected to be used.
the shifter retaining bolt is an torx bit not an allen key
The shift cam is locked together with the linkage with an Allen key. That's what i found, you can glimpse it in this video, or in Ep.3 at 1:08.
@@UnauThorizedMechanic no, it's a torx

Every fucking video skips over how that shift arm comes apart... Sheesh...
My video clearly shows how to remove the shift lever from the shift cam.
