"Honestly, if you are looking for a three-row SUV, I would probably go with a ... minivan." This man speaks truth. The new Toyota Sienna is fantastic. Actually designed for hauling families, not pretending to be an off road adventure truck.

@Jose Carranza Polio Yeah, the Odyssey has the Sienna beat in every category except reliability. You can't go wrong with either though, both are great family cars.

My family had an MDX and the 3rd row was used, probably, once in its entire time with us. This was evident when I went to vacuum it out prior to putting it up for sale and there was bunch of trash underneath those 3rd rows along with debris from years of neglect. People want these features as a just in case, but end up barely using them.

The new MDX kills this RX350 dead, to be honest. Acura's V6 feels and sounds less anemic (likely due in part to the new 10 speed), and the new MDX doesn't look like a snoozefest to drive unlike the Lexus. Also, SH-AWD is far superior to the system that Lexus uses on the RX. I prefer Lexus over Acura, but not in this case.

I just bought a 22 350L over the MDX, based on my preferences. My priority is value luxury: ride, quiet, and audio. For those I trade torque, any pretense of sporty handling, and packaging efficiency vs the MDX.
I picked the L version for its better ride and cargo room with the third row stowed, not for putting humans back there. I suppose someone could lie sideways.
Thanks for another great review, Chris. Always nice riding with you.

Cmon Lexus.... 2021- and no updated screen. Those bezels look horrible, and they aren’t even trying to hide it with a darker UI. I’d probably buy a Toyota minivan before I spent 60 grand on this

Oh man that infotainment screen looks atrocious. I love Lexus but they really make themselves hard to defend sometimes.

I don’t know why they shrunk the screen in this model. It’s crazy!

  • @OSTKCabal

Lexus needs to send their entire interior team to learn from the Mazda MasterClass for a few weeks. Quite frankly, the compact Mazda CX-30 has a nicer-looking dashboard, arguably as good of materials, and a screen that actually fills out the bezel at half the price of this thing.

I have the AWD system in my RX F-Sport, and it’s quite good. The system lags behind because of the non-aggressive OEM tires they fit to these, but I’ve never felt uneasy from its performance.

I’m a Lexus guy, and I can honestly say that this is the dumbest implementation of a 3rd row I’ve ever seen. Who in Lexus thought, yes, this is practical?? They should have just taken the Highlander and souped it up a bit. Job done. The classic RX is fine for what it is, but this is a big fat L.

That standard 8" center screen & the Hague cluster display look so laughably tiny 😂😂! The optional 12.3" touchscreen that comes in one of the packages should really be standard at this price point. Come on Lexus stopprice gouging your customers now. You really couldn't make a 10.25" or 12.3" touchscreen standard for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, & Amazon Alexa 🤦🏽‍♂️🙄? In addition just rid of the touchpad bc it's pointless. Touchscreen systems are much better unless you can just make it a scrolling wheel like the earlier versions of the Lexus infotainment system before the touchpad & how the iDrive controller is, as well the previous MMI & COMAND scroll wheel was. Or fix the touchpad method & make it work better for CarPlay, Android Auto, & your own infotainment system interface the way Acura implemented the true touch 1-to-1 positioning

That dashboard is hideous! It's ridiculously long, and the overall look is not cohesive and dated. It honestly looks like a design from the late 90s and early 2000s minus the screen. Between that and the stupid side rear window. Alone would keep me away from this. Normally I like Lexus however, this needs an emergency refresh or a new design.
