Breathe through your mouth. Protrude your mouth like a pot. Don't breath with nose because it's very risky if you don't know to clear water in nose by blowing air out.

For who don't know- you need to have lungs filled with air to float. Its not special technique just breathe in and hold your breath. Incase you are swimming, breathe out when your head is above the water and quickly breathe in again.

@@ow_suWhirl your arms and collect water and kick your legs some. Try laying on your back, don't pick your head up.
The swimmers who "don't do much", yet stay afloat, have chill and precision aswell as habit to not be bothered with water closing in on their face, you need practice and then belief you have the breathing down. You should have most of your head underwater, and practice unpanicked half breaths, if you have water with good visibility, you could also try to sink under the surface with a friend, after acclimatizing.
Breathe in, relax for a sec, sink under, then float up pushing on the water, use shallow water, and oush on the dirt/ground if can be-this shiws you that thrust isn't that hard to come, but keeping your mouth clear of water isn't effortless, aswell as let's your skill and confindence in breathing and your timing grow.
The line where you can float, can be oretty shallow and daunting for a new swimmer for sure.
Being fit and lean is good, but you do sink a bit more if you are really lean, and being built compounds it. Some people can sink in fresh water with full lungs. You will almost surely stabilize with full lungs with a tiny bit of forehead/ head top above the water, or when you are fully submerged. You have to bring the few extra weight units up yourself to have the lift to stay above the surface. Feel for the water resistance and try to match your efforts with a sustainable breathing cadence. Will be floating and swimming around in no time. Any sizeabke bit abive the surface is superbly draining. If you keep more than a half if your head up, you will be exhausted in under a minute almost no matter your physicality if not used to it.
Once underwater with a full breath, calmly collect yourself and using the water pop out and take a breath. Go easy, and do it safely, though, Have a friend with you for mire safety and chill.

I panicked hard yesterday and the lifeguard saw me. I think by some superpower I read his mind, “I’m not getting her just because she panics, she needs to pass that”. I almost lost hope when I saw his face. And then like what felt forever, I panicked, told myself “it’s either this or get back up and float”. So I gained control of myself and floated. I think that lifeguards don’t rescue you immediately. They rescue people who are ACTUALLY drowning. A phase where the person is no longer to get themselves up, and too long down underwater will cause their lungs to fill up. They don’t just jump in the water for us nut jobs who panic at every little thing. Also one big lesson I learned yesterday that it is crucial for our own survival instincts to overcome the panic and start strategizing. So I’m thankful that lifeguard let me to my devices lol.

"The Panic" 😅😂 Thanks for these techniques dude! My son and I go swimming regularly at our local spa, so I decided to check out some cool "tricks" or "challenges" that we can try next friday. Here in winter time Finland it's great to go from snowy outside (- 15°C to - 30°C), to a warm and "sunny" spa, get the heat up in sauna,
shower and walk to the pool house where water and everything is warm and there's glass walls and ceiling so that you can see outside wheres lot of snow and icicles hanging from the rooftop and the glass ceiling is covered with frost. For Those of you, who live way more to the south and don't have snowy and cold "real" winters, I highly recommend you to try it out if and when you get the chance. Have a great one dudes!

If you breath normally and not panick, you will float even if you don't do anything, like lay on the water, just keep your body straight and relaxed and not sinking your butt.

Step 3: Once you reached it, do the flutter.
Step 4: Now you did the flutter, *Now do it 999x faster*
Step 5: Now just practice till you can float peacefully!
    (WARNING: VERY HARD AND TIRING)
This next idea is called a “fish dive”
A dive you do while in water!
Step 1: go to a beach or pool.
Step 2: Go to the water:
Step 3: Reach a point which is enough!
(Reaches up to shoulders or neck)
Step 4: you located your dive zone? twist your feet together then..
Step 5: Dive and spread your arms straight!
(You can get pushed by the wall for a lil’ boost!)
    Congrats! more coming soon..

Tried em all. I sink every time. NO, I'm not panicking (right away anyways). I was cursed with the inability to survive in water deeper than my height.

I remember last summer my cousin convinced me that he taught me how to swim in 5 minutes and to try to reach a rock in the middle of the river. I thought I had it, panicked, and drowned my cousin till I got to safety, he’s good though since he knows how to swim lol

Definitely was the Michael Phelps of panick yesterday. I thought I knew all the drop off points in the pool to be prepared to swim. Sank like a rock as the bottom unexpectedly dropped off 😂

I barely move, just calm. And float naturally

I am a competitive swimmer and I don’t move at all. I sink Easily in water if I don’t move at all but I can just tread it right to just look like I am floating

You should add "The mystery", whoever uses this technique is seen once and that's the last time they are seen

    My personal excperience:
•The flutter: 10/10! I use this all the time
•the dolphin: 2/10 never tried it but it looks stupid and exhausting
•the frog: 7/10 my mom uses it, idk how to do it i dont use it but its many peoples favorite and i like it, its useful to people
•the egg beater: 6/10 it is fun but i cant do it and i always end up doing the panic one instead
•the panic: 1/10 me everytime i try to do a trick and i fail, i dont reccomend

I only know how to travel some distance by swimming don't know how to float passively in the same place without using legs.
