    this recipe is spot on. been in the industry for 20+ years here in the states and flour, egg, breadcrumbs is standard. and it's fun because there are so many variations for the crumbs, like you showed! gonna have to give this particular one a go. thanks for the video!

    What I like to do with Chicken Nuggets is to do a Cornflake coating. Especially those slightly honey-flavoured ones and then mix some cayenne in with them and the flour. Makes for some sweet and spicy nuggets! 👍🏻

    Another one of your recipes I tried. It worked really well as expected. Cheap Lay's crisps/chips worked better than the more expensive kettle chips. Since I'm trying to eat healthier I also used Panko bread crumbs and seasoned them with a bit of powdered ginger and smoked, powdered Korean hot peppers, dumped the salt. It was different but just as crunch and very tasty.

    Chicken breast cut into small nuggets. Add egg to one bowl and cornflour+ salt/pepper to another. Dip in the egg first, then to the egg/salt/pepper mixture. Cook on high heat until they turn golden brown/crunchy around the edges and serve with a sauce of your choice. The best chicken nuggets you'll have ever. I promise you.

    I wonder if you guys have Adobo from Goya over there. I personally use Adobo and Paprika in my flour mix. I also just double dip in the flour mixture and milk rather than egg and bread crumbs. It isn't quite a batter so it holds up well, but if you let it sit a while before frying it is just like a batter. Buy some Adobo and give it a try if you haven't before.

    Go to lucky chip in London. They make the best chicken nuggets. They brine free range chicken for 24 then, coat the, then deep fry. They come out so moist in the middle and crunchy on top.

    When you grind the chicken, you can add spice and bind it. It makes it more flavorful. Tbh also using breast makes it dryer than thighs.

    with the mince chicken, you can mince it yourself, and you can add all sorts of spices and seasonings to it, which you can't do as easily with whole.
    plus you should have had 4 nuggets, breast, thigh, breast mince, thigh mince

    Love the recipe Chef and would go for a homemade Nugget any day but here lies the problem and what a lot of ppl rather go for .......4 of your Nuggets for £4.50 whereas £3.99 for a 20 Nugget Share Box from Mc D's. Most Ppl just look at cost and quantity now. Gone are local Butchers and decent chicken for decent prices, ppl just go for crappy supermarket chicken as it's cheap and does the job (me included im afraid)
    Good recipe but I use Cornflakes to make mine ....the bizz

    Technical question: does a chicken nugget need to be chicken breasts in order to be a proper chicken nugget or could it also be thighs as they are cheaper and more flavorful? Would it lose its chicken nuggetiness if it was made out thighs?

    • @santanalz
      @santanalz 6 років тому +5

      If you use thigh, you need to mince it. Otherwise it will be chewy as all hell. This can be a fine option, and a touch cheaper. I recommend you try both side by side, and test for yourself. They're your nuggets! - Signed, a professionally trained chef.

    A) As white-meat chicken products go, these look primo.
    B) As other commenters have alluded to, this is an interesting case of mistaken retranslation. Yes, what we here in Brooklyn call potato chips are called crisps in Blighty, but that doesn't mean that all the things you call crisps are potato chips. Potato chips must contain at least a modicum of potato.
