    Bradley you are fire hose fun to learn from. Your style makes me chuckle inside cuz I know that you have this game flat dicked and you get tickled jabbering about it...You've GOT to be the most up- front and to the point guy on UA-cam. Cool insight on how water clarity effects how close they relate to a brush pile. We do some similar things like crashing Deep little N's and always have a drop shot ready. Love the DD22 as well, especially at night. Good video. 👊

    Enjoyed this video quite a bit right now I'm my home lake of quality Fisher mainly in brush that's what we've been catching them out of I've started throwing the dd-22 crashing brush with it and you ain't kidding that is one of the hardest baits there is to get stuck I don't care if it's rock or wood the dd22 is great for not getting hung. And it catches Biggins

    That squirrel tail worm from big bite baits is awesome. You will burn through a ton of them. That tail is thin and has a ton of movement and it will catch anything. But that tail gets severed easily.

    Great video I hope you continue it to fall and winter! Couple of questions is that a screaming eagle 3/4 ounce spinnerbait or a full size and are you swimming the wobble head or dragging it? Thanks man!

    • @matthewhairell1456
      @matthewhairell1456 3 роки тому +1

      Slow and steady retrieve the wobble head if on rocks or gravel. The bait action and wobble head will do all the work as it deflects. If fishing on a sandy bottom or in brush piles, you want to reel 3-4 turns and give it a moderate pop with the rod tip 6-9 inches. Think crankbait and not shakeyhead.

    • @BradleyHallmanFishing
      @BradleyHallmanFishing  3 роки тому +1

      Mathew is spot on the actions of the baits. Those were full size spinnerbaits but you could definitely use a screaming eagle especially in clearer water or places with smaller baitfish. I start with everything bigger and size down as the week progresses usually.

  • @SSS51706

    Another good. This year I started throwing a ned rig in deeper brush piles. 1/5 oz shroom head and a big TRD or hula stick with 20# braid to a 10# fc leader. Seems like a good combo for me. The lakes in Ohio are loaded with dinks and are highly pressured. Sometimes we have to go deep to get a good one.

    • @BradleyHallmanFishing
      @BradleyHallmanFishing  3 роки тому

      How are you rigging to keep it weedless or at least less snags?

    • @SSS51706
      @SSS51706 3 роки тому

      @@BradleyHallmanFishing I use the ones with the weed guard but still get hung up at times. When I get bit, it is usually on the fall or the first time I twitch it or hop it. I fish around the edges of the pile. There have been times. Have to straighten the hook or break off but not often. I started messing with Texas rigging it without the weed guard and that’s been working better for snags

  • @matthewhairell1456
    @matthewhairell1456 3 роки тому

    I’ve been experimenting the Carolina Rig vs Wobble Head on rocky points off channels and brush piles. So far the wobble is winning on rocks and gravel and the Carolina rig is winning on the brush piles and flooded timber. Fishing 1/2 oz in 8-22 ft of stained water. For both:
    Creature > Worm > Craw > Swimbait > Stickbait
    Colors: Junebug has been the biggest bites but less fish, plum has been the best for both size and numbers.
    A video on pros and cons would be interesting.

    Another excellent video. I live on TB and here we have lots and lots of Crappie brush piles and of course we catch lots of Crappies in the summer. Probably on SR too. So, are you fishing for Bass on Crappie piles or is there something that makes a pile a Bass pile versus a Crappie pile? Occasionally I catch small Spots and big Cats while Crappie fishing the piles and very rarely stick a Black that usually gets off of my Crappie gear.

    • @BradleyHallmanFishing
      @BradleyHallmanFishing  3 роки тому +1

      Always the same piles. Wood is wood man. There’s bass on those crappie piles I guarantee! You may find a depth that the bass prefers more. Crappie like to sit deeper lots of the time and bass shallower piles but they share the same ones as well.

    Great video but you didn't mention my fav technique for brushpiles in 6-14 FOW with 4' or less clarity. I use a 3/4oz jig on 20lb flouro. I face into the wind and get 10-20 feet from the pile and flip it in. I never get bit on the initial drop. They always come after yoyo-ing it in the branches. I think it's the same thing as drop shot but I like my odds better with landing them. It works great on largies and spots. Give it a try on Tbird!! It's crazy how hard they THUMP that jig! I found this technique by accident by getting my jig hung up from casting to the pile. When I went to get it, I started yoyo-ing it THUMP... HMMM.. I call it "tea bagging brush piles" lol

    On your progression, how many casts with the spinnerbait before the crashing Crankbait? How many on the Crankbait before the big bite worm on a Biffle head, and how many total casts before you are moving on to your next pile ? Thanks

      Depends on the size of the pile. Bigger piles would get more cast but usually 2-4 cast with each bait if I feel I have made a good cast and covered the pile effectively.

    what size weight are you using for your shakey head and drop shot. Does it depend on how deep the brush pile is or are you just trying to get it down to the bottom as quickly as possible?

      Depth, wind, and current all play apart in this. Standard would be a 3/16 probably

    Good stuff! Are you using bait cast equipment on your drop shot?

    With the swing head setup and big word, do you slow roll it like normal swing head fishing or do you work it differently when it’s paired with a big worm?

    Always a good vid! Do you ever drop a Tokyo rig, wacky, or Ned rig down into those brush piles? How much length do you usually leave between the sinker and hook on dropshot? My home lake, Lake Monroe In Bloomington, IN, the fish are heavily pressured, spook and suspend like crazy. I have tried a spy bait but have not had much success. Any tips?

      Nope I like the spinning reel very much. Every tool has a place in the boat!

    Awesome video! What do you recommend for the drop shot leader length under the bait (not the total length of the flouro leader)?
