Most of us didn't just "stumble" across this video. There are 336 of us who seek out the outdoor adventures on your channel because it's quality stuff. You show us techniques that allow us to get the maximum benefit from our gear. Plus there are old timers (like me) who can't get out in the woods anymore because of physical limitations. I depend on people like you to film with your camera so that I can at least experience a little bit of the outdoors vicariously through your lens. Thank you, my friend.
Thanks for the great video, and a huge thanks for not ruining it with crappy background music while you're talking. I don't know why some people are compelled to add annoying background music throughout the video.
Scott I just recently found your videos and enjoy listening to you as you take the cooking kit through its paces. You also have a nice piece of property. The little practical tips you share, like waiting for the fire to die down a bit before cooking your eggs, is very useful.
I enjoy my Firebox products very much. My personal orders of operations are: Coffee, then muffins, then sausage, then eggs, then more coffee. That uses the fuel most efficiently I believe. Love the video, have a great day. 👌🤠👍
Hey! Very good first use of a folding firebox and I especially like the application of the Swedish fire to the firebox. I haven't tried a folding firebox yet, But plan to soon. I have used the wood gasifier stove and quite like it. Good presentation! Thank you!
I ended up buying almost every single thing on the website over the past few months in 4 orders. I've gotten 2 family members the G2 5" stainless steel. I initially bought the Large cooking firebox pan. Even as just a single camper, I really wanted the larger pan so I could do full one pan meals like Steve does with potatoes, fish, and veggies all in one. Also, the option for baking in the pan with the plate as a lid was a must. I got both a shallow and deep plate. The small pan will not manage well for larger meals or more than one person, probably overflow. It would be perfect for a more lightweight backpacker kit though. The large baking and cooking kit would take up a LOT of backpack space. I wouldnt really be doing more than 2-3 day trips with it, unless I was heading settling in somewhere. I'm sooo freaking happy I went with the large pan, large cutting board, large baking stone with a universal handle, and the baking kit. I also got the gas burner, gell, and liquid. My pocket bellows, cutting board and all my tongs, seasoning shaker, spatula, coal and baking racks ALL fit into a easy perfect puzzle and right into the sinch sac. Now heres my main reason for responding. I went for the large Billy pot because my first baking kit bundle came with the small pot. I was absolutely heart broken, because I could only fit the cup, gel and liquid burner into it and not much else. I could NOT fit my coffee kit, my steel baking balls, Trangia gas burner and a couple other things - I can't quite remember. The lid and top pan would NOT fit the small pot with all my accessories and go into its sinch sac. After getting the large pot, I was pleased literally everything fits into it and the pan bag. This way I have only 2 green sinch sacs and not 3-4 to try strapping or shoving into my backpack. Both green bags with literally everything I have on the site besides the small Billy pot... it all fits into a Walmart grocery bag with enough room for probably a 2 litre bottle to fit. It would pretty much fill most a small day bag. With the large Billy pot, I was so happy to have the steaming pot for green beans and broccoli while the water is boiling below with potatoes to mash or corn. It comes together smoother. Seeing Steve's video with the 14lb roast chicken absolutely had me. Unfortunately there's no way the small would manage fitting most roasts or loafs. I also got the large lid hole drilled for the thermometer and the therm to fit. Really for me it was fitting everything into the pot like I saw in his videos. But if you think you'll be doing really simple stuff like rehydrating foods, just boiling water, soups stuff then don't worry about the large and all the baking accessories... but I couldn't be happier thinking long term and having almost every option in a perfectly compact kit. The lightweight camping chair, small folding table and windscreen just has mee looking like a king at the truck yard and truck stops xD
@@Derek_Monk Thanks for the detailed reply. My use will be for motorcycle camping so weight isn’t terribly important, but packability is. There are so many great products on Steve’s website, I could easily buy them all, needed or not!
I picked it up off Amazon (Lodge carbon steel) but you can find it at like a Bass Pro, Runnings, Gander, or similar stores that carry outdoor (camping and hunting) gear.
if you are going to do a bit of baking id get one of those silicone cooking pads instead of the rocks or in use with them as that will distribute the heat all around more vs just from the bottom. i dont have the baking pan to test it but i know how well the even out the heat, just dont let the silicone get over 500deg or have the flames hitting it which wouldnt be an issue inside the zebra pot. im curious if it will distribute the heat evenly enough to not even have to put coals on top but just cook from the bottom and have it radiate the heat like a convection oven. if it works like i think it would it might save you the weight of the rocks if that is an issue to someone.
Thumbs up for sure. Awsome video. I just wished it was longer. Not often do i stumble on to these types of videos and watch them like i did yours. You could have made that video a 30 minute vid and it would have been awsome. But on a scale of 1 to 10 i give your a vid a 9.5. It would have been a 10 at 30 mins. I really enjoyed the vid bro. Im gonna subscribe but you gotta promise to make longer vids cooking and camping. Im sure you watch firebox steve. He is freaking awsome. I love the family thing and the outdoors thing and the camping and hiking thing. He gets it all. But i really enjoyed your vid. Bacon is played out and i dont have top teeth anyways i love my bacon chewy but i love my breakfast sausage even more and i was super stoked to see you cook that. With bomb ass eggs and a super soft moist muffin loaf. Wow!!! Great vid bro. Hope to see some longer ones cause from i saw you for sure know what your doing out there.
Looks great I I don't waste my time with small stoves grates and fire pit a pan or two and Dutch oven . cook anything needed . that way I not spending endless hours in wood proceeding or start serveral diets just to cook
Hey Scott, nice video! I'm curious your thoughts between the Emberlit stove and the Firebox? I have the Emberlit and am thinking about a Firebox as they look so handy and multifunctional. Let us know what you think between the two!
BWizzle I’m glad you liked the video. I have another one on my channel about the Emberlit Fireant which I think is a great little stove. I don’t have the larger emberlit so I can’t compare to the firebox. What I will say though is the Firebox is a really great stove and some of the best money I’ve spent in along time. I’m sold on the versatility even though it’s a bit heavy. More of a car camping / canoe camping type stove but worth every penny!
You deserve a big like for the Swedish fire torch formation inside the firebox. Those thicker pieces probably burned a lot longer than the twigs most people use. No need to keep feeding the fire every 10 bloody minutes. Fantastic idea. Thank you for the great video.
Cool video, I've been wanting a good carbon steel pan... I use a medium size cast iron pan right now. It works great... just wanna try out a carbon steel one. Much lighter n I heard they cook about the same. Good lookin fire n ur new Firebox stove, she did well for u! I have one too, I love my stove! I was thinking about getting the Billy pot, just hvn't done it yet. Keep filming! I sub'd!
cillaloves2fish thanks!! The skillet is worth every penny. Light enough for short hikes or canoe camping and it gets lots of use at home as well. Thanks for the sub!
Great job on the video my friend. Loved it. Also I like what you did with your channel. You have my subscription would love to have your support as well. ATB Joe 😎👊🏻
Why in the world did you cook the eggs before the muffins? This was the wrong order of best utlilizing the heat of your box stove. Cook the items requiring the most heat first, then eggs, which require less heat last. Good luck and thanks.
CHemWasp Schumann thanks for watching. Sometimes a person just wants what they want. I wanted egged and sausages before making muffins. Way she goes. Take care.
pesto12601 don’t be nervous. All in good order. Maybe the camera angle makes it look like something to be nervous about but I assure you it’s not a thing at all. Thanks for watching!

William Burr thank you sir! I appreciate your comments as always!!
The pot as an oven, never would of thought of doing that, Very Awesome 👌
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing and god bless
Well done Scott.....you are right, sometimes a person just wants what they want when they want it. Thanks for sharing and keep on showing us more.
Thanks for the great video, and a huge thanks for not ruining it with crappy background music while you're talking. I don't know why some people are compelled to add annoying background music throughout the video.
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks Terry!
Thanks. I've been looking at this stove!
one more cup of coffee! yep!! nice video, it didn't drag, good pace. thank you.

Great demo of some great Firebox products!
nice operation - I liked the "oven" / firebox combo

Just got this stove - it looks awesome. Which size Billy Pot did you use?

Those stoves are so pretty when they are new. I love mine.
Great video thanks for sharing !
Love your videos, nice and peaceful out there.

I really enjoy your videos.. keep them coming.. Thank you for sharing..
Nice video, thanks!
Thanks Jim!
Cool video love the Firebox stove practice makes perfect
Thank you for the video Scott!
Great product Steve!
Excellent video Scott
Stumbled across your video and it was great, thanks for your time and I subed.
Awesome video. Can't beat coffee and eggs in the wilderness.
Wild Stuff Media glad you liked it. Thanks for stopping by!
Love your set up.
I’ve used that pan on that stove a good bit, so here’s a tip. Off center it a bit away from the handle. If it tips, it’ll tip toward the handle.
With the Fire Sticks in X support configuration I always have the loop at the top, it seems more secure.
Great video that’s a real impressive stove Thanks for sharing
Thanks Jerry!
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Probably enjoyed it more if you’d have shared your muffin though 👍
It was a good stumble!!!
Great video, but where did you get that steel pan?
I picked it up off Amazon (Lodge carbon steel) but you can find it at like a Bass Pro, Runnings, Gander, or similar stores that carry outdoor (camping and hunting) gear.
Very enjoyable 👍
Nice job.
Thanks Bernie!
Great video mate, loving the channel. Just subscribed from a fellow UA-camr 😉👍
Just getting my first one.....whoop whoop
You’ll love it!
That is good to know because that is the size of our fry pan and I wanted to be sure it would work on the fire box before buying it.
Frazier Douglass It’s like they were made for each other. Great size for that stove!
Thanks!
Great looking breakfast indeed ! Nice stove,
Atb John
the mi woodsman thanks John!
In my opinion each Man should Know How to set some fire and relax out From the Daily Matrix. Its a Very good therapy
Nice video. Looks like you've put quite a bit of sweat effort into your camp. The firebox is a great stove. cheers.
Dan Smith thanks Dan!
Enjoyed it, thanks.
mmmm, that looks so yummy.
Love ur channel bro... more videos please !
Hey thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I’m due for a video in the very near future.
Did you consume each food as it was finished cooking, or did you wait to eat until all things were cooked?
I baked the muffin after I ate sausage and eggs.
the only way to use the firebox is with the air damper. It is why I have one
Nicely done video. You mentioned fat wood in the middle to fill the space with the big pieces?
Yes I used some fat wood to get everything else burning.
enjoyed that. really cool camp, and looked like a pretty good meal. too bad we never saw a shot of the finished plate ;)
TikkerLoS you’re right...I should have gotten that shot. Next time I will.
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks Jerry!!
man you need a higher sub count, great videos
Hey thanks! I really appreciate the comment.
Check out the IRIDIUM stove......its great for trips like this......
I have the same exact wood stove. I haven't used it yet though. I also have the bushcraft essential lil bushbox stove.
5”Firebox probably my favorite stove to use.
Just came across your vids, instant subscribe, question what haversack is that?
he there, just found your channel, have a new sub 😉👍🏼
I appreciate that JP!! Subbed back.
NICE...THANKS
Nice video. What size is the fry pan? 8 or 10 inch?
Frazier Douglass thank you! The pan is 10”.
Great video!!!!! What kind of camera are you using on this video.
Sma Maceda thank you! I used an iPhone 7 Plus for this video.
I have the same kit and skillet and love it! Great video - subbed your channel. Cheers - Luther

What a beast of a stove. Been wanting one for yrs. Where did you buy your Italian ruck? Nice video's.
DrDennis77 I got the ruck on eBay. I think I paid $30.

Where did you get your skillet?
I bought it off Amazon. Lodge 10” carbon steel skillet.
Jeff Cheesman I like that skillet too

You might need to chop some more wood 😃
So relaxing to go camping getting away from electronics sucks my wife doesn’t like camping good video though
Thanks Ricky. Sounds like you need to do a solo trip. Good luck!
Scott S. Outdoors yes your right I think a solo trip will do to get away from society thanks 👍🏼
Love the video, but please (all clip makers) stop begging for Likes. It gets old.
Let me guess, the real purpose of this video is to make hungry___ weelll it worked!
Great vid! I find lifting the pan off the stove time to time, helps with the high heat. Cheers!
Don't know why you never just used your firebox as your contained fireplace instead of making a new one
Take care.
Might be just me.. but the thought of that firebox near all those dry leaves... makes me nervous!
pesto12601 don’t be nervous. All in good order. Maybe the camera angle makes it look like something to be nervous about but I assure you it’s not a thing at all. Thanks for watching!
Funny how you all rate the Firebox, yet you all seem to use the Swedish method, because its over priced crap, a mettle box with holes.
Thanks for watching bud!
