If one storm is much stronger than the other, the smaller storm usually rotates around the larger one. But when bot storms are similar in strength, they tend to orbit a common center between the two. If the two storms get to within 190 miles of each other, they'll collide or merge

What do you mean by absorb? That it gains the strength of, or is somewhat strengthened by the smaller one when it consumes it?

They are both spinning in the same directions so they spin around each other until the leave the pull of each other, unless one is much weaker then it would suck up the smaller one, but it wouldn't get stronger the smaller one would disorganize it's own circulation and take the circulation of the other stronger one.
