8:40:37 The slimy god/monster thing is actually the Yellowbrow boss that you fought earlier, the monk that sat beside him at the end is Jinchanzi, he is the previous incarnation of Tang San Zhang, y’know the monk guy that was Wukong’s “sifu” that he had to protect during the journey to the west. He is actually a real historical figure who really completed the journey to the west in real life to collect Buddhist scriptures by literally walking all the way from China to India, the guy was an absolute mad lad. Anyways, Yellowbrow and Jinchanzi were actually disciples of Buddha himself. Yellowbrow had always been disagreeing with Buddha’s teaching where you have to give up your lust, your greed, your desires and all that sinful stuff, according to Buddhist teachings, the human nature is kind, but Yellowbrow heavily disagree on this, he’s an advocate of sins. So he formed some sort of weird rivalry with Jinchanzi, to prove that humans are driven by greed, lust, and all that Buddhism bullshit doesn’t work. The animated cutscene shows one of Yellowbrow’s attempt to prove his point by incarnating himself as this creature that can create jewels and do all those miracle shit, which later caused the citizens to be controlled by greed and do horrible things to him, thus “proving” he was right as he told Jinchanzi, that human nature is evil. But Jinchanzi called BS on Yellowbrow’s “proof”, saying he deliberately made himself so tempting to human’s greed, so it doesn’t count, further calling Yellowbrow out for being a “human nature is evil” theory fanboy, who only cares about winning in his arguments. During Yellowbrow’s monologue cutscene right before the first phase of the boss fight, he told the Destined One about the story of him and Jinchanzi were both disciples of Buddha, and he told that later Jinchanzi were reincarnated and have three disciples of his own, that three disciples refers to Wukong, Bajie, and another guy that I think you won’t see in this game, his name is Sha Zheng.
Was it Yellowbrow's intention to end up the way he did? The individual who stabbed him first seemed like he got possessed and got pulled forward.
@@cart172 He was definitely happy with the result when the humans loses their minds and started all that plundering and orgies around his body. He’s making himself a big ass target by having his body literally bleed gold and jewels, and his body fluids can make mortals young and beautiful, so yeah he definitely intended it. I think he used some sort of subtle powers to fuel the guy’s greed and desires, once the guy take the first step, others will follow.

@@cart172 Judging by his face, it seems that he took the form of a soft shell turtle, without the shell. It is an entirely original story made up by the devs, it was never in JTTW
