    Surprisingly, Charla dropped one gem in this interview when he said gospel artists feel like people are playing with God when secular artists make that one gospel song or album.
    The word gospel literally means "good news". And unlike rappers who can cosplay as gangstas, gospel artist require conviction.
    To be a gospel artist you MUST be a practicing Christian. That is why people get mad when Kirk Franklin cusses and exhalts himself more than God or when Deitrick habitually cheated then got a woman pregnant twice without being married to her. Or her twerking on him in a see through shirt.
    Gospel artists are held to a higher standard.
    If you are loving foul but singing about Jesus then you are in the BUSINESS of gospel music but dont really believe the words youre singing.
    I think Deitrick Haddons "I Need Your Help" is one of the greatest gospel songs of all time.
    But he says and does things that make me side eye if he is truly about this gospel life🧐🤔

    I always love D Haddon because he owes his stuff. He does not blame other people. His transparency has played a huge part in my freedom to be unapologetically me as I walk through this journey called life with God.

    I’m gonna look HARD for Pastor Deitrick’s contribution that goes unnoticed… The sound changed with The Clark Sisters FIRST, and then Kirk Franklin. Everyone else was riding the wave…. I’d like to learn what I’m missing.

    The problem with TBC is that they are celebrities (minus Envy) so they no longer feel compelled to actually research an artist.
    If you can only name 2 gospel artists that is a problem Charla!😒
    And Jess being ignorant and shading female gospel artists didn't help🙄
    What about Juanita Bynum, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and resident old mean girl Kim Burrell?

    • @management570
      @management570 Місяць тому +2

      @@Bmf214 Jess basically said she liked male artists because she wanted to be prophesied to, she realized how sexist that sounded and tried to clean it up by naming one female artist. In my opinion the comment overlooked women who are gospel singers and preachers and are just as capable. I would add that persons list Shirley Cesar, Dorinda Clark, and Jekalyn Carr.

    Say what you like this is one Gospel artists who is not ashamed of the Name of Jesus. The vast Majority of people in the church leave Jesus and the gospel out of the conversation especially in secular interviews. So much of Dietrichs work has the message of salvation, souls and sinners. On one album he even talks in tongues.
