Peacocks started their summer in Korkeasaari Zoo. During winter they are in their indoor enclosure, but during the summer they can roam around the island free.

Loved seeing these at Korkeasaari. Lots of baby peacocks were there when I went too.

The free peacocks are one of my most favorite things in Korkeasaari. Watching them hang around near and among people is something I enjoy watching. Happy to see them out and about again! :D

Why use "starttaa" instead of "aloittaa". Just asking. From a foreign learner of the Finnish language.

This video was named by my previous coworker, so we can only guess the reason ☺ Starttaa is deriving straight from English "to start", aloittaa is more like "to begin" - it has a small difference in nuance. I think that starttaa has a lot more speed associated to it than aloittaa: for example, when a car race starts we might say "kisa starttaa" or when a car is turned on and begins to move is "auto starttaa".
