I'm always impress how artists can already picture their art in color. I would make my outline, and feel good about it. But when it comes to coloring... I would turn an A-tier artwork into an absolute disaster and probably was done by some grade schooler who first picked up a crayon.
Something I do to practice is to pick some pieces I really like from artists I look up to and I try to mimic the coloring of said artwork. It's not perfect, but I learn a lot that way! You'll get better with more practice. Keep it up. ✨️ Edit: Also, I do want to add that the art I study from, I don't post anywhere. It's just for me to use as a tool to get better.
i'd say work in black and white and then use a gradient map over the top of it. Additionally you can split different areas into different layers so that they will be in a different colour. Have fun with this
@@YTartschool oh nice, thanks! in future shorts, I'd love to see snippets of that part included. Watching other people draw it is how I realized that saturated line between light and shadow exists in the first place!
@@4tarobyte It generally doesn't exist... Look at photos. It's kind of a made up stylization thing artists do that looks nice but rarely happens in real life (if ever).
@@corasundae Actually, it can! Sometimes you have to use 3d models and or combine a bunch of references to get what you want. You seldom won't find the exact ref you're looking for, so you have to get creative :)
@@swisdom9117 yeah it sucks cuz it’s hard to get good stylised or realistic 3d models without a pc and then switch it to your own style as well. i often end up using my own face but it’s hard if i wanna draw anyone who doesn’t look like me :’)

i like the imperfections of the lines. it has edges and looks janky up close, but when you see the bigger picture, it looks gorgeous. this shows that you don't have to do everything perfectly and correct every detail just so you can do beautiful art. imperfections are what make something natural and beautiful.
Very perspectivized, Very dynamic pose. Amazing job! I'm getting into art slowly and stuff like this inspires me cause I still struggle alot with the basics, but I'm getting better, slowly but surely, and this gives me hope :)
i have been watching your youtube videos years now. I aspire to draw like this one day. Marc mad respect for the work you do and the fact that u teach people so many things.
I love that you tell how long this took. When I watch these timelapses I always get frustrated that I can't get results like this with an hour or 2 of work. Now I know that the pro's can't either.
This song remind me of “master Lou the butler.” That time when I was 11 waiting every single day to read the new release chapter of the manga. It was release on every Monday and Thursday I think, god I was so excited for Luo to expose his true identity I reread it like so many times and now I’m go find it and read it again it’s too good. ❤️
Now I try to imagine if her spine is doing what is supposed to do. I recently started watching shorts of an artist that also shows anatomy. But for me its hard to tell because the perspective is really extreme. A difficult piece for sure.
Never forget, this doesn't take 5 hours, it takes years
uh no. this, the painting, takes 5 hours. the skill takes years.

I suggest watching some videos on coloring. Lavendertowne has some shorts that are pretty informative!
that just means you havent done it /studied enough
I draw almost every day and I rarely get color information from my imagination. I just have to vibe it out.

THE PERSPECTIVE IS CRAZYYYYY🔥🔥🔥
Aw, I wanted to see the part where you drew the more saturated border between the light and dark on the face. It really brings a piece to life!

Storm from x man , tatsumaki from one punch man , uraraka from my hero academia . And a bit of creativity from off angles . Exaggerated poses .

I LOVE your usage of colors. Every painting I see of yours just shows me how much I have to learn. And trust me one day I'll get there!

havent seen something this dynamic in ages! nice!!!
This is why when I get the money I’m thinking about taking art classes, I tried to learn on my own but it wasn’t working.
Wow the understanding of proportions and anatomy are truly inspiring
It's crazy to hear songs you heard for so long but what's even crazier is the power if artists and how they turn papers to posters!
The hand impresses me the most. Very tough angle and finger positions
NAH HELL THE PERSPECTIVE IS SICK
Okay this is a sign for me to start practicing
