    I'm always impress how artists can already picture their art in color. I would make my outline, and feel good about it. But when it comes to coloring... I would turn an A-tier artwork into an absolute disaster and probably was done by some grade schooler who first picked up a crayon.

    • @Kimchi.Juseyo
      @Kimchi.Juseyo 3 місяці тому +176

      Something I do to practice is to pick some pieces I really like from artists I look up to and I try to mimic the coloring of said artwork. It's not perfect, but I learn a lot that way! You'll get better with more practice. Keep it up. ✨️
      Edit: Also, I do want to add that the art I study from, I don't post anywhere. It's just for me to use as a tool to get better.

      i'd say work in black and white and then use a gradient map over the top of it. Additionally you can split different areas into different layers so that they will be in a different colour. Have fun with this

      @corasundae 2 місяці тому +2

      @@4tarobyte It generally doesn't exist... Look at photos. It's kind of a made up stylization thing artists do that looks nice but rarely happens in real life (if ever).

    • @dazuru6407
      @dazuru6407 2 місяці тому +8

      @@corasundae Actually, it can! The term for it is "subsurface scattering", and you can google images of it to see it being recreated in life, such as the edges of ears and hands when backlit by a light like the sun!
      The density and opacity of an object or being changes how light will pass through it, and since skin is not completely opaque, if it is lit by pronounced lights, it will produce this effect!
      Of course, it is more subtle in real life, but it does and can happen.
