I tested an Autel Max4T last year and was reasonably impressed with it. The flight time was good, it had the first version of firmware and I didn’t have any flyaways or loss of communication. The controller as you say is large and heavy, which makes it a strain to hold for a long time even with the neck strap. The zoom is insane and when from 300ft you see a small white spot on the thermal and then zoom in with the RGB camera to see a hare munching on some grass is crazy. The fact that the controls become less sensitive when zooming in is a great feature especially at 160x zoom. The wheel controls on the controller I found not to be in a comfortable position. My only concern with Autel and I have had a Evo 2 Pro and an Enterprise, is the firmware and support. It isn’t good. For this reason I went back to DJI.
We were too overall but the slight issues we had feel like it let it down. Agreed - the camera capability is fantastic but we are also in favour of DJI but it is great to get hands on with other kit.
Nice honest review, including the negatives. Interestingly, I have the exact same disconnect issue with Evo Lite+. Makes me not want to get another Autel drone, which for me is a shame as I think the Autel hardware is better than DJI.
Interesting! I just thought it was an iffy controller / drone but flew another MAX 4T a few days ago and had the same issues. Shame that it happened to yours too. Autel seems very promising but woth these flaws I’m sticking to DJI.
Interesting as I just got a MAX 4T. Looking forward to additional videos and to see if these issues will be addressed by autel. **Interesting that Autel does not provide flyaway protection for these drones like their other lines**. Wonder why???
@@buzz_drones great! Looking forward to it. Any other videos planned for the EVO MAX? I’ve subscribed and will keep posted. I’ve dropped a lot of money on this drone, hopefully it pans out. Was thinking of doing some videos on it, but I’m not much of a videographer, more like a watcher. lol.
@@AREyouAFRAIDofTHEdark1 The next video planned would be about the issues found and any resolve to them along with remembering to grab the camera data to pop on the video! haha fair!
Totally, has so many good features. Was in a bit of a rush filming this and forgot to get recordings of the screen and the footage off the drone 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Like the look of the controller, as you said connection bit of a problem. Say you had just found a missing person look for location then RTH happens before you get the long lat😢
I’ve heard other operators say they’ve not had an issue but I have raised this up to Autel. Indeed, wouldn’t be ideal but as soon as you regain connection - just punch back out 🤟
A little update for my Autel MAX 4T. Overall I haven't really had many issues. One issue was the controller screen flickering however it did not affect video being recorded. I have also experienced a poor connection issue twice where the drone would have slow response to controller input. As for the fly away issues some have had, I haven't experienced that. However, I will add if your battery is dying and you have it set to rth at a certain height, it will fly up to that height BEFORE returning home. That RTH height, must be set to a height that is safe and realistic.
Thanks for sharing! We can assure you all pre-flight checks were conducted as usual, including RTH height etc and the battery was near full as we had not long taken off :) Very bizarre experience!
Another thing worth mentioning, I’ve noticed twice that when taking off the aircraft was unresponsive on right control stick only. I’m not sure why, if it was maybe the obstacle avoidance kicking in or what but it would only go up and down not forward, left or right.
Funnily enough, I've had the same / similar problem! Once the world goes back to normal I''ll be getting another MAX 4T to do a video with - be interesting to see if there is the same issues.
Mine flew away on 11-11. Message said gnss spoofing. I had 21 satellites with Rth set if connection was lost. Ive been a pilot since 2016 and fly several times per week. I've never had a flyaway! I sent data in to Autel. They didn't find anything wrong. A terrible loss of confidence even though i enjoyed it for 3 months. I have an RC and charger 4 batterues and case for sale.
I have a few questions... I see this video was from 6 months ago. Those flyaways you experienced...have they been resolved? Did that unit have that big update from 11 months ago installed? Has Autel been of any help?
Sorry for the delay in replying! Nothing as of yet, this kit was on loan to us for testing / this video and the kit was all up to date as we did all of that prior to us taking it out on the ground. Autel was initially but not heard anything since nor do we have this drone with us anymore. We should be getting hands on another one soon, so no doubt we will do another review / update :)

Looks lke a good bit of kit in the right application.

Can you make 360 panorama with the drone?
Don't think it does as this is an enterprise aircraft so isn't geared towards that application.

@@Gopeople Seems like a common issue then? Were you near anything that could have interfered with your signal, such as masts?
@@Gopeople wow. Hope you had insurance. Sorry to hear!
Hi, no, I was in a remote area of desert 2 miles from homes.
Thank you.@buzz_drones
