Yo, I just started making beats this year and already have placements, and I'm working on a bunch more. And it's pretty much due to everything I've learned from this channel. Really appreciate yall boys at IMR. Yall really don't have to do this, and yall could definitely charge for it. Yall are doing a real good thing, man. Keep it up.
lmfaoooo nigga i know. thats why i'm saying they're doing sumn dope. i'm not saying they should charge people. i want them to keep doing what they're doing.
SideShowChu Bruh, how did you get placement. I have been producing for a year and have improved so much. I just pretty much need help working with the professionals.
They get paid for uploading content on this channel. That's how youtube works. Get a huge following, upload good content, get a lot of views, a lot of thumbs up, a lot of comments, then you get sponsors. They're getting paid for posting this stuff. And that's what's dope about it.
First time hearing you on the tutorials and I automatically like you the most. Very knowledgeable, professional and giving tips that most other people wouldn't think of giving, very valuable information in this video.
You make the best tutorials on Internet Money, I know it's long since you posted this but thanks a lot, I'm just starting and this one really helped me
KC Supreme and Trav are really really good as well. Also check out Rio Leyva, he's got a lot of good stuff and advice. A bonus to check out would be Illangelo (The Weeknd's producer), he doesn't do tutorials, but he streams his sessions and just talks through the whole thing and what goes through his head and why he does things.
Audio engineer Seth Firkins (Aka the person who mixed DS2 aka the best sounding album in Hip Hop) says he doesn't use side chaining unless if something is seriously wrong with the kick and 808.
Eynoux Adjoumani I thought i discovered this too til i realized the compressor i was using internally sidechained the lows. So it comes down to finding the right compressor I was using one of the Antress Modern ones.
I’m only 15 and I’ve been making beats for bout a year now, and this video helped a lot with my mixing and other things, my other beats are not mixed well at all, and now winced I watched this video, I wanna try sum different, appreciate the tutorial bruh, keep it up🔥
Pushing a kick (or any sound for that matter) that's already clipping into a limiter on the master is going to completely change the tonality and punch of your kick right off the bat. Experiment with how it sounds with/without the limiter on there to be sure it sounds how you want it to, you can always push the overall volume up later in the mix process if you need to. Just a heads up for people who might not know that.
I appreciate you explaining the why part of mixing as well because sometimes without understanding the reasoning behind something, its meaning becomes lost in translation, so to say. Glad you're back doing tutorials and looking forward to much more, LeauxFi.
dope tutorial (i was in the periscope)! One suggestion tho, for a video this long it may be helpful to have like timestamp links to each part of the video
This Was Dope! I never thought about turning it down n I've been told over n over old habits die hard but this was just a review for me to make sure I've been doing my beats right and I thought I was gonna know everything n for the most part I did but the turning down think really made me check every beat I have on my phone lol great tutorial bro u got the juice 🍇🍇🍹
Mr. Bourne Productions I personally do that myself. That's a good habit in my opinion and it saves time in the long run. What I do is I mix while I'm making the beat, then when it's structured I go back and tweak the eqing etc. I did while I was in the process of making the beat to get it how I like it.
And then again after that "since the lote is so low" and thats when i almost died laughing... Its fine tho, great tips, great tutorial, great everything.
Great man , should get 12 but still I like that you teach how work the software and not just copy ..Ive been looking for best videos to learn .thanks man
Yo can you do a tutorial on how to get rid of the pops when you're trying to use Gross Beat? Mainly half speed setting. And I'm not talking about pops from bad sampling.
Josh Kelly use the bottom portion/volume section of gross beat to cut off pops where your markers are placed. Just turn the attack and release all the way down.
Aye yo this tutorial was A1. Definietly learned alot! yall keep up the good work. Video suggestion: -could yall do a vid explaining how to start selling beats? I get we should go upload to youtube or beatstars or something but im confused as to how it works after that. Do u just upload and hope that someone finds it and buys it?
i understand what your saying, i checked out the ambient melody tut by nick, but what im looking for more is how to create the actual sound from scratch

Take note of how good the track sounds BEFORE any processing is applied. Pick good samples/sounds
because garbage in = garbage out
I was definitely taking note of that
They say sound selection is crucial
Bro the beat sound perfect befor the mixing haha
Nick mira sounds different today
he dont like his voice so he pitch shift it to sound more manly
@@Mahxie lmao
Mahxie he mixed his voice😂
I always felt like I wasn't doing enough with my mixes but you definitely demonstrated that less is more

Audio engineer Seth Firkins (Aka the person who mixed DS2 aka the best sounding album in Hip Hop) says he doesn't use side chaining unless if something is seriously wrong with the kick and 808.
rip seth
808 District RIP SETH
is it the best sounding album in Hip Hop ever? or this decade?
The truth of the matter is you don’t need to sidechainna compressor to create movement. The right attack and release will do the job
Eynoux Adjoumani
I thought i discovered this too til i realized the compressor i was using internally sidechained the lows. So it comes down to finding the right compressor I was using one of the Antress Modern ones.

This mic quality has my ears in love.

The leveling part of this video is amazing. Is a great quick start to mixing. Thanks so much.

What exactly is side chaining, I don't fully understand
Question, I personally EQ every single sound of my tracks as I'm building. What do you think about that workflow?
Mr. Bourne Productions I personally do that myself. That's a good habit in my opinion and it saves time in the long run. What I do is I mix while I'm making the beat, then when it's structured I go back and tweak the eqing etc. I did while I was in the process of making the beat to get it how I like it.
