    I can relate to not posting on social media and being a solopreneur. I don’t have a family but I work M-F with kids so they really zap my energy especially my creativity. Learning how to create content and post it has been another issue but I’ve gotten better. I’m in no rush and do what I can when I can.

      Watching kids in great numbers can be an energy drainer, even 1 sometimes can take all of your energy. What works for me when I have time is doing batch videos. I have a few videos that I've done and have yet to edit, this summer has been very busy in my house.

      No problem. I've had to learn to stop stressing and work at my own pace. Sometimes I post every day and sometimes it may be once a month. If I have time for social media I post and if I don't , then I don't. I will say using a social media scheduler helps if you can get the content and photos done ahead of time you can drop them into the scheduler to post daily for you. I use Metricool , they have a free package you can start with. Best of luck to you. 🥰

    Hi I have a child with autism and just trying to start a scrunchie business and I do only with fabric waste. I go to the local tailor and get the fabric scraps and use them. So there’s not really repetition in designs but I love it to stop fabric waste. And I only sew during the first half of the day say 3 hours. And like you said I’ve kept Monday for cutting, Tuesday to make the tubes, Wednesday to rope in the elastic and Thursday to hand sew to close them. I like to that as I don’t like to show the stitch. It looks neater for me atleast that way. I love your videos, I’m learning a lot about elastics and everything through your videos! Thank you!

      Congrats!!! It is quite challenging doing everything by yourself especially having younger kids too. When it comes to your Etsy shop have you tried running ads and promotions? Also, make sure you are using good search terms for the items you are selling. Great photos go a long way too. Make sure your listed items are pictured clearly and have good lighting too, just a few tips that could be helpful. Best of luck too you don't give up.

    If you can not afford to do custom fabric I know Joann, at least our local, does remnants for up to an extra 50-75% off. For around a yard or less, so there are easy, quick and something you can use to test out sizing and fabric types.

      I’ve bought remnants from Joann’s before. They also do custom printed fabric as well, which I think is pretty cool.

    I'm still working on the "logistics" like, how do you know what yo charge for shipping? How is that worked out. Especially for large orders with many items that require a large box. How do you charge a customer for shipping when u don't know how much they will buy? A video on shipping would be AWESOME!!!❤❤

    • @OMGScrunchieClubCo
      @OMGScrunchieClubCo  Рік тому +2

      Hey Girl, Hey!
      For my website I use Shopify. In Shopify, you can put the weight of each item and then the shipping is automatically calculated for the customer. You can set your shipping location to be Domestic or International. I ship with the United States Postal Service so as customers add scrunchies to their orders the shipping rates adjust. Not sure where you're located, but I live in the U.S. and I ship free in the U.S. and charge everywhere else. My scrunchies usually weigh less than 1 ounce so they aren't expensive to ship, so for people local, I figure why not ship free. I also use lightweight poly mailers. Since scrunchies aren't expensive to make and can have a high profit margin free shipping or a set flat rate shipping (ex. $5.99) may work too. It's good to know your cost of goods if you go this route so that you know exactly how much it cost to make a scrunchie. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 🥰

I'm in Texas for now but moving soon and it's something I can do even on the road so USPS is all over the states so that is awesome to know that it's all about the weight of each ítem. I was wracking my brain trying to figure it out. Lol thank you!!!❤️🙏

      The "Don't Start a Scrunchie Business" video actually doesn't encourage making scrunchies. It talks about adding other items in addition to scrunchies to your business. The title name is more of a "clickbait", to get views to explore why I'd say that in hopes of them thinking bigger than scrunchies only.

    Regarding being a soloprenuer, have you even considered paying a contractor to make your scrunchies to free up more of your own time? I think it would make sense. You can get very affordable labor in certain countries. Someone told me about this option years ago when I was designing accessories.

    • @OMGScrunchieClubCo
      @OMGScrunchieClubCo  Рік тому +3

      Yes, I've thought of that, but I don't want to share my measurements with anyone I don't know or trust . 🤦🏾‍♀️ I was hoping my daughters would be interested in helping, but they are only interested in doing photoshoots for me when they have time. They aren't into crafting and sewing like I am.

    • @InspiredByEbonyLove
      @InspiredByEbonyLove Рік тому +2

      @@OMGScrunchieClubCo There are or were so many contractors in Los Angeles. But the prices are lower in places like Vietnam. There is another young lady who is in the same field and her parents help her. I just think contracting would improve your life. Maybe you could bring someone in your studio to help them. One to cut in batches, someone to see & install elastic. Consider this. When people buy your scrunchies , they can deconstruct for the math anyway. It might be worth a try to delegate some things .
