The description of "race or class" vs "race and class" always being a discussion in left circles. it's same as now.

Charlene Mitchell is a woman warrior, who I had the chance to meet in the early 90's . She is one of the few Black women who really understands labor and the contributions of the working class. She speaks of Paul Robeson as this larger than life human being, because he was. Mr. Robeson, was a seeker of truth and so is this dynamic woman. Charlene, I have not spoken to you in many years since our paths crossed in Baltimore. But I have thought of you often I know you are still carrying all that knowledge, and hopefully you have written a memoir. Thank you for your wisdom , and spirit that will never die.
