The should be circa 1997 or 1998. I was there for this show and the interviewer is one of my friends sister. I paid $6 to see nothingface and stuck mojo. It was a really badass show.
I’m jealous lol I was born in 96 and the music in the scene that I love today was at its peak back then I really wish I could’ve experienced it at this age there was a lot of great underrated talented bands back then
Though Matt Holt might've thought about Nothingface's music more non-chalantly, the truth is, the lyrics and thematiciscm of the band is striking, especially in terms of the modern day situation (both politically and personally). Realistically, (especially their later work) you can see the music (especially in terms of tonality & lyricism) draw new parallels with the direction of american government. The olddity in thius, however, is that thematically, the same can be said for how the lyrics from several of their albums also apply to people personally. Disillusionment with the adult world, the pain of this realization, the abrasiveness of this exposure, all draw a parallel to the American political world, which is mimicked in the music of this band. Though HELLYEAH, is what helped Tom Maxwell gain success, he realistically probably also knows that Nothingface was both him and his group's opportunity to truly send a message out to the world that didnt in vole just saying "Drink Coors Light!, Get Pussy!". Given what I havce gathered from his personality from both videos, other peoples career stories, and common sense, its obvious at his age he seek was gives a check. Music (tbh) is brutal. do what you need to do to survive. The young do so-so in this field, but wealth only comes to the populists, those who just aim to strive for what sells. Though some miht badmouth him, remember, this is his career (with few benefits btw), why would you blame him for seeking an opportunity that leads to success. At a certain age you learn "you either grow up, or you die"
"olddity"? you're a reprehensible fraudulent wannabe convoluted shit stack. "thius"? so many spelling errors in this ,that your dribble can't be taken seriously. 4 people might have, but it sure as fuck isn't going to be me. i can somewhat understand what you're trying to say but it's all so pretentious that what you've wound up doing is sounding like an unintelligible "intellectual" that is just down right loathsome. "You either grow up, or you die" ?!?! hahahaha! you're suck a fucking tool. GROW UP. lol.
Very well put thought. It's ironic, however, how Nothingface disbanded in 2003- just when they started to, step by step, reap fruits of all those endeavors they put in their art throughout the years of band's activity. Holt and Maxwell were hellishly opposite elements-whereas one suffered of severe self-doubt and inner demons, the other one was eager to obtain laurels of fame eventually, and could've be enraged over thought he was too good for "club touring band" with loyal yet still not stadium gathering fanbase. In 2003 NF might've hit the target had circimstantial factors played others, as well as interpersonal inner collisions within the band they failed to get over. In the end it's always just the way is and not the other way around. Nothingface sadly ended up never realizing their enormous potential. P.S. I still think Hellyeah's debut album was really good, after that they might've just end the thing. Maxwell , tbh, is hell of a guitar player who wasted potential he endowed with on such a lame act as Hellyeah.
