Its just something about this version...every time I hear this, it automatically takes me back to a time when hip hop was really crazy and branching out...glad we was around to witness this greatness...I truly appreciate Hip-Hop...
I appreciate what hip hop was. I don’t appreciate what it is now. I guess I don’t appreciate what hip hop did?? I don’t know. It’s one of life’s greatest confusions for me. Born in ‘81. Lived in Harlem till I was around 10. Moved out of NYC, but never stopped being heavily influenced by hip hop and the culture. Throughout the 90’s, it just looked like it was going to get better and better. And I had my ears pricked to it. And then, at one singular point in time, I started to see something change. It was like seeing a storm cloud on the distant horizon. I think that was around ‘97 or ‘98. Maybe it was just going to be a wave of whack emcees that got steam rolled eventually. And like so many, I kind of ignored it. It’ll pass. But it didn’t. It infected the entire scene. I know good shit still gets produced to this day. But everything about the culture feels different now. It’s not a counter culture. It’s not a refuge for people with nowhere else to go. It’s as mainstream as it could possibly be. And it’s as exclusive now as it used to be inclusive. If you knew, you knew. But now? Well… let’s just say it’s not like that anymore. Not by damn sight. And so my feelings about hip hop can be summed up pretty damn well by this song. For the record, I love hip hop. The real, true SOUL of it as I came up with it. But it’s a very bittersweet thing, just like the harmony of this song. It breaks my heart because, whereas it used to fill it to the brim, it leaves it hollow and wistful these days. Nostalgia can be a bitch I guess. Especially if your memory is of something you very deeply loved.

No matter where hip hop goes, it will never have that feeling of NYC summers. Steven Rice Most definitely...and I would say that Mobb Deep touches a track gloriously; shout out to Queens. Great collabs...sorely missed from the state of Hip Hop today. The positive, all-inclusive vibes are gone, unfortunately. 😔
Best music ever. Now it's just... straight up shit. 80's and 90's best music ever. The world was so different back then. Nowadays people are social media & cell phone robots. I remember taking the #116 bus from Carteret, NJ to Port Authority, NY. Then making my way to 145th & St. Nicholas and chillin all day in the city with 5lbs. Of trees in my Jansport backpack. Damn, I miss those days. Not a care in the f'ing world. I was 15 back then, around the summer of '93.

We maintain the same frame of mind
Elevation, spark an L
Yo Start the circulation, 360 degrees of rotation
Stimulation, as the earth rests my physical creation
Slip into a hallucination
Situations, got me thinking about my life seriously
Keep it real continuously
Before I slip into blackness I prepare for combat
Protect my dome cause that's where my home's at
Crack my windows inhale as the mist blows
Build up my mental destruct all my missed boos
+King Kyng -TOTALLY AGREE..ALONG WITH METH..THIS IS ONE OF MARY'S BEST CALLABO'S
Correction its " as the herb bless my physical creation" on the last verse its "construct on my physical" much props for effort though. One love
Jesus, reading this just took this song to a whole other level for me lol

King Kyng this my jam yes yes yes thank you mary
Timeless Classic, Queen of Hiphop & R&B
Smif n Wessun had that in and out flow before Jada and Styles P. Of course, respect to both. SnW bring me back to that ole skool gully Brooklyn.
Steven Rice Most definitely...and I would say that Mobb Deep touches a track gloriously; shout out to Queens. Great collabs...sorely missed from the state of Hip Hop today. The positive, all-inclusive vibes are gone, unfortunately. 😔
Mef & Red held it down for a minute...
Straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WTH you from Forest Hills mah dude...
Back and forth steeze on point
God damn speakers can't play this loud enough. 2019
1 of the best R&B/RAP remixes of all time!!!

Oh no, I've offended a youtube dork who's ass is on fire from all of the butt hurt. Lol look at how mad you are lmao
+Bobby Pirrone Yes, your right people do that, and sometimes people thumbs down the persons version, or mixes of the song. It's don't mean they don't the song, cause if so, they would watch, or listen to the song.🤔
+Pretty Love Some people like there mixes on their channels only, or how they uploaded their versions of music.
