Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in the world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Remember when there was a theory going around that Kim would turn out to be Wendy later on? 😂
This is why I'm glad fans don't write this series
That would be a mind blowing twist 😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯
@@mpguy24 no just a dumb one.
Call me weird if you want but that is the first thing I thought after seeing Howard sent Kim into the filing room as the punishment. I guess I basically thought she can't handle all the stress and became Wendy.
@@finley8113 not even weird at this point it's straight up parody 💀
Wendy is one of the most trustworthy people in BCS and BB. Not too many people can take on Hank in an interrogation room and not crack.
Did someone just say crack?
@@lordluc422 😂
@@lordluc422 That's just methed up man.
@@lordluc422 Your comment is very potty funny.
Crack is bad mkay
Poor Wendy, they did a good job of portraying how people who are perceived to be inferior get used and treated as being disposable.
I felt really bad for Wendy, she lives a rough life and gets taken for granted :(
Don't do drugs kids
Id say she gets taken for a few Bucks.
She is the example of millions of people who might be genuinely good people but drugs destroyed them.
@@rogerrocha6962biden
@JohnDoe69986 drugs are bad mkay
The first clip is such a great example of the duality of Kim's character. Offering to help Wendy with legal help, no charge. Seemingly out of the goodness of her own heart, out of sympathy, whatever. And the whole while making the offer while plotting to destroy Howard's life for quite literally no reason.
Kim is such a fascinating, nuanced, multi-faceted character.
Do you think she tried calling her and got no reply?
Your point still stands, but her reason was because he's the target of her husband's aggression and she loves a good ol' con game with her darker half in Saul
women are inherently evil but not very logical, news at 11
Kim is a great character for sure. Very few good people in these shows.
Howard gave her plenty of reasons.
- He busted her down to mail room because he couldn't punish Jimmy for quitting his lawyer gig
- When she got Mesa Verde on board, he stole the lead and ran with it.
Howard was shifty, slimy, and dishonest and he upset the wrong people.
Now: that being said, what they did to Howard was a completely and utter over-reaction I'll admit, but it wasn't for "no reason".
It's sad how Wendy might have needed Kim's legal help but she stopped being a lawyer
She could have tried to call Kim when she got busted and because Kim didn't answer she was in there with Hank and no lawyer.
@@ch33zer damn i never even thought about that
Well she better call Saul then
I thought Kim stopped being a lawyer for profit and ended up volunteering in free legal aid. She did not stop being a lawyer.
@@MrRobot600 In S6E9 Fun and Games, she tells the court she can't continue with a case because she's no longer an attorney. This is shortly before her and Saul break up, then she moves to Florida. She volunteers in free legal aid years after the fact, since that takes place after the events of Breaking Bad.
Hank was HORRIBLE to Wendy

I really felt like he should have face some career ending consequences for that. Or at the very least blow his investigation of Walt way down the road. Lol
Wendy is actually pretty smart and knows how to survive and get by. I always feel bad for her.
Just can't get out of her own way
Poor Wendy, great actress and make-up folks. I like how they made her look a bit healthier and fleshed out in BCS vs. BB. Accounting for the years of drug use/hard living between the two shows.
probably the only actor that looked younger in bcs, instead of looking the same or older
I love how he is a fat drunk talking about how cool drinking is and he lecturing about substance abuse 😂😂😂
Wendy completely turned the tables in the interview by recognizing Hank. Even causes some doubt in Hank's partner
😂😂 that “what??” at 09:58 is perfect, I wish we could hear Hanks explanation after this scene
That really was the best
Thanks for this, I think about Wendy whenever I go by the motel.

Jesse was a genius in seeing qualities in people who were written off by the rest of the world: he was 100% sure she wouldn't rat while under police custody.
The entire show Wendy never actually does anything, she only gets used, no courtesy and only ever as a means, with the odd thank you once or twice a year. Brutally sad :(
So?
So? Addicts do anything for some bucks, don't use drugs
Jesse went to the Waffle House with her one time. That was kinda nice.
She gets used alright
@@sailor5853Just don't do drugs 🤓
She still never got her rootbeer
I love rootbeer
She never got all the bumps she wanted, either
Left it on the roof of Hank's car!
"You ever need any legal help? free of charge"
*few years down the line she's being arrested*
A shame Kim had already moved on from the law by that time heh
Credit to the actress playing her. It can't be easy to play someone like that!
How I hated Hank for constantly bullying Wendy!
Me too
Yeah he didn’t need to do all that. Especially in situations were he wanted her to cooperate or while interrogating her.
He bullied everyone
Not exactly the movie hero eh
'Hey, wassamattah, huh? Got no sensea humor?' Yeah, bon mots of cop humor from the 'cock of the walk'.
Hank: "Got something you wanna ask Wendy?" Walt Jr: "Can you fix me breakfast with real bacon?"
Wendy was a real G! Never asked questions, just did whatever and whoever she was told

Ok I definitely shouldn’t be watching the first clip when I haven’t finished BCS but I am TERRIFIED to find out why JIMMY IS COSPLAYING HOWARD???? 😭

Breaking Bad *was* the best TV show I have ever seen. Then along came Better Call Saul, which somehow topped it. I will watch anything Vince Gilligan and/or Peter Gould have a hand in from this time forward. I put them up there with Rod Serling and Norman Lear as all-time TV writing legends.
I loved BB but having a hard time getting into better call Saul. Did you like BCS from the very beginning? Or does it take a few episodes to get into it you think?
@@scotter7663 in my opinion u need to watch a few episodes before really getting into it
@@scotter7663 Being honest, I didn’t fully get into Breaking Bad until Season 4. For your interest, I watched Better Call Saul first. It’s all about giving the show time to immerse you in it
@@scotter7663 Better Call Saul is a slow burn with a massive payoff. Last 3 seasons are as good as or better than anything on Breaking Bad.
I suggest if your a fan of the show go to Albuquerque New Mexico I just came back and my friend took me to all the spots like the hotel pollos hermanos restaurant and where they meet the guy with the that disappears them from town there’s even a breaking bad tour also try the hot dog place with the dog it’s real good
I bet the actress of Wendy is stunning in real life
She’s a soccer mom who does triathlons. She’s got the makings of a varsity athlete

Wendy never snitched on anyone. Wendy was a real one all though she was slept on most of the time.
Literally
"Who's bendin' down to give me a rainbow? Everyone knows it's wendyyyyy!!!!" 🎶
And Wendy’s got stormy eyes
*BLAKE’S LOTABURGER!* They actually used a bag from a real ABQ burger chain instead of mocking one up for the show!
cheaper too Artists are expensive!
If I go to ABQ, I’m definitely trying that out.
Imagine the publicity a real alcohol would’ve gotten if they used one instead of the Zafiro Añejo that they came up with.
@@videogames344 Defintely try it with hatch green chile.
It was really enjoyable to see these various snippets from both shows, and different episodes.
An accurate portrayal of real life characters. The writers are the real heroes in the production.
At the end, Wendy walked to Huell's motel, and they lived there, together, for ever more.
How happy did she make him?
Reasonably
She never snitched. She was used & thrown away & she still stayed loyal
Honestly, there was a time when I thought, she was going to be getting a bag full of money from Jesse to quit prostitution but on a second though, she would smoke crack until she was dead, but honestly what a great character.
Fun fact: Vince Gilligan brought all the actors into a room before every season and had them professionally hypnotized to believe they were their respective characters, then let them free in a Truman-Show-type set to do whatever their characters would do. Not only did he save budget from having to hire writers, but also ensured realism. This was the moment Bravo truly Vinced.
Shut up.
Fun fact : he even had Donald Trump give them feedback and advice about their performance in the Truman-Show-type set. Bravo truly Vinced.
Fun fact: Vince actually sold the souls of his children to the 4 chaos gods for greater writing prowess. Now that's commitment.
I was hypnotized once at a weight loss seminar. It's a big load of steaming donkey dung, totally bogus and it doesn't do squat. These hypnotists are slick snake oil salesman and could sell ice cubes to Eskimos.
this actor nailed exactly how narc cops act and talk.
Not really its a hollywood exageration
Wendy left her soda on Hanks car
I have no sympathy for Hank after talking to a woman like that.
5:01 this may be the worst thing Hank does to anyone, and he does it to two people. Hank was no saint.
This is the moment "Wendy" became "Heisenberg."
The Wendy character shows the bad side of drugs. Walt’s greed means ruining other peoples lives. She did give Jesse an excuse for not being arrested by Hank, so she was kind of useful.
Jesus, every scene in better call saul looks so beutiful
The cinematography in BCS is so much better than BB.
Someone stole her fast food restaurant idea and it went all downhill from there. Very sad.
Howard man he really got screwed over. Nasty status
Pffffft.
He got what his lifetime of behavior deserved, just not in relevant setting.
Oh, Wendy. That’s one concrete rose that could never be tamed but could always be trusted.
Why TF people are disappointed that this is not Kim's future? Kim is too clever to fall that low.

That actress is more successful and did more with her life then we”ll ever do 😢😢
From the thumbnail, I think Wendy started The Walking Dead

She's actually a good-looking woman.

How much you charge for a windy, Wendy?

Lmfao the part with Hank is so funny 🤣🤣🤣.
She looks like she could be Willem Dafoe's sister.
I initialy thought that Wendy having Kim's business card will be a final piece of the puzzle to expose both Jimmy & Kim. Boy, was I wrong, and in a good way. Well, maybe not for Howard
i like that they made her character more sympathetic in bcs. She's almost childlike which i imagine is not uncommon for women like her irl
Kept frightened
No, not childlike.
While they are likable and admirable, some are more cunning and manipulative than you can ever imagine. Survival does that. Then addiction takes that edge and polishes it razor sharp.

In a way, Wendy was like Jesse's Jesse. Someone totally dependent and easily manipulated, with street smarts and really not much to lose.
Jesse's interactions with Wendy, and her baffling devotion to him, eerily parallel his relationship with Walt.

Starting off with BCS to describe Windy Wendy is perfect!
In thumnail, she looks like zombie😂

Without seeing the title the thumbnail really had me thinking this was a Walking Dead video
i thought its a zombie from twd for a sec 🤣
Wendy has had a tragic past but let’s be real, she’s legit, has a business (even if it’s prostitution), isn’t a rat, and loyal to her customer base. There’s not a lot of people or companies out there that are as legit as her.
We need more BCS content!
Wendy was a great character. Brilliantly played!
I thought that thumbnail pic was from The Walking Dead at first 😂

Can we agree now that Wendy was the main character the whole time
Saul really damaged Howard that led to his death, he realized that so did Kim.
How much for a windy on a windy day Wendy?
Mouth of Sauron was first thing popped in my mind when I saw this thumbnail.
Jokes on us, her teeth are bad because of all the soda; she’s actually an avid health nut, besides the soda.

I never noticed Kim's vernacular change.
The whole "shine you on" thing is 100% related to the company she's kept throughout the show.
That doesn't even remotely sound like something she'd have said during the first season.
