"Jet Airliner" is my favorite Steve Miller tune, but they've got a library of good ones.
"Jet Airliner" is one of my favorite Steve Miller songs...found out that the original is by a guy named Paul Pena. Check out the Paul Pena version sometime. It's a banger too.
Don't forget "Threshold" must be played as its intended intro.
I'm partial to Abracadabra
Great song written by Paul Pena
@@Gekokujo76 Listen to everything by Paul Pena.
Steve Miller Band
Wild Mountain Honey
Jungle Love
APRIL WINE "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen".
3-guitarist band from 1970s Canada. This one gets requested every 70s chat but never got voted in.
This song was played thru out the original space jam movie.
SMB has a dozen radio hits, and I'm glad you guys are discovering all this great music from previous generations. Many SMB songs have electronic intros & outros, like Space Intro/Fly Like an Eagle, Threshold/Jet Airliner, Abracadabra, Wild Mountain Honey, and lots of their catchy rockers--Jungle Love, Livin' in the USA, The Joker, Space Cowboy, Take the Money and Run, Swingtown, Rock'n Me, Wide River, I Want to Make the World Turn Around, hit big on the radio, too. Original audio was longer though, giving the electronic sounds time and texture to breathe through the songs. Some edited videos on YT seem to abruptly gouge here and hiccup :45 seconds there etc., destroying the vibe, so that music which otherwise flows, sounds cheesy in lots of places where the original audio and most live concerts would still be vibin' !
space jam man!!!!
"Rockn' Me" and "Take The Money and Run" are two more to check out.
They're great!
This is another great song. They played this a lot in the 70s and 80s on the radio. SEAL did a great version of this in the 90s. ✌️
They cut off the extended outro...totally unlistenable.
Amazing remake 😁
"The Joker" from the Steve Miller Band is a must! :) Great song with a great groove.
1976! I was still a kid but I remember always hearing this on the radio along with "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann, "Cold as Ice" by Foreigner, and "Hotel California" by The Eagles. Looking up the dates of those songs, that means "Fly Like an Eagle" was still in heavy rotation on the radio well into 1977!
You maybe heard the song from the original Space Jam with MJ.
This song has a more psychedelic version, you haven't lived until you've seen the video "Midnight Special Steve Miller Band Fly Like An Eagle". It's literally hypnotizing
Agreed and imo that's my fav version , it's super hypnotising and as you said , has a psychedelic feel to it.
Midnight special had some amazing performances
@@zilla66 I remember staying up late and watching it and Don Kirshner"s Rock Concert.
I much prefer this one to the Midnight Special version... it's rare that I would feel that about a song done on that show!
That one is incredible. That bass player in that is so good 👍
Jungle Love and Jet Airliner are two of his best , iMHO .
Luv your channel !
...jungle love in the surf in the pouring rain, everything's better when wet..
If you want to hear synthesizer in a classic rock song I suggest listening to Frankenstein by Edgar Winter, and watch the version when he performed it on The Midnight Special
THE absolute best version of that song!
The only worthwhile version of "Frankenstein" is the studio version. The live ones are just a mess.
The 70s were my teen years and there really was a lot of great music and even if you weren't necessarily a fan of the particular group it was music everyone could enjoy.
This was a particularly excellent and very popular group with probably their best known song.
My daughters think I'm bullshitting them when I tell them how good music then. That's fortunate as not much else was.
You guys are putting a Herculean effort into creating all these videos of great 70s songs.
Well done!!!
My parents were teens in the 70's. I've been listening to music from the 70's my whole life. I've always liked it, but grew to appreciate it as I've gotten older.
Thank You..Very well put!! 70s!!
Totally agree, graduated in 72 and this music was weekly and never stopped for years, started in the 60's!
@@dicklindell948 yes, and I don't think people today realize that, that every week there were new songs.
70's had a lot of great music . I'm happy I grow up in that time and I introduced my kids to this music and I'm so happy that they all love it 💕
This WHOLE Album (Fly Like An Eagle) Is Great From The First Song To The Very Last...If You Were Fortunate Enough (Like Myself) To See/Hear/Experience The Concert Tour For This One It Was Absolutely Excellent.
So good! Take the Money and Run is another great one
Steve Miller is a rabbit hole you should definitely dive into! Y'all are so much fun to watch!
A MUST HEAR ROCK ANTHEM,, BILLY THORPE "CHILDREN OF THE SUN"..AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC..R.I.P. BILLY 🙏
Yes yes yes...
Who's he?
Steve was the Godson and learned to play guitar from the legendary Les Paul.
Watch....people will always debate "who invented Rock N Roll". Was it Elvis? Little Richard? Chuck Berry? Sister Rosetta Tharpe? etc etc. 95% of the time, you will see the common link to what defines "rock n roll" is an electric guitar. That means Les Paul invented Rock N Roll.
damn i didnt know that. i know he was called Stevie Guitar Miller. did not know he learned from Les
@@Gekokujo76 But Les played Jazz until he died. Don't limit that guitar to just one genre. Everyone uses or mimics the design.
Steve Miller is a great musician, composer and guitar player . His "range" was from very proggresive to very popie. From "Fly like an Eagle" to "Abracadabra" , lots and lots of great songs . "Serenade", "The Joker", "Winter time", "Keep on Rockin' me" , "Jet Airliner", "Jungle love" and many others good songs that were also hits at the time . Great choise.
You should listen to "Abracadabra" such a classic hit by them.
Steve Miller wrote so many great songs. great reaction keep that 70s music coming.
THE SPACE JAM FOR ALL YOU 90s KIDS OUT HERE
Yep, Seal's cover :)
Yessir
I actually was more familiar with the original version than the Space Jam version
Brad & Lex, their Jet Airliner, Swingtown, Rock n Me, Take The Money And Run and Junglelove are next for you. Great intro on Jet Airliner.
Wild mountain honey
If you liked this, check out Steve Miller Band: "Take the Money and Run."
Steve Miller and Boz Skaggs were in a band called the Marksmen back in 1955. Started playing in Jr. High. That just slays me.
the US postal service used this song as a commercial for years when you would have been a kid, you might have heard it then.
SMB have an amazing back catalogue. IMO this is one of their best. Loved the later song Abracadabra too.
they got a few I like. abracadabra, take the money and run, and rock'n me.
THE STEVE MILLER BAND "SPACE COWBOY",, "LIVING IN THE USA",, "THE JOKER",, "THE WINDOW" & "WINTER TIME" & MANY MORE.
Your saving grace, going to Mexico, motherless children, going to the country, low low calqulator
Don't forget to listen to some boz skaggs original member of Steve Miller band
Steve Miller Band is cool. They've got a lot of legendary songs.
"A lot of Songs from the 70s always makes me want to move my neck" might be one of the funniest things Lex has ever said! 🤣. You two are Amazing 😄❤️
It makes me want mushrooms
Steve Miller "wild mountain honey"
Great reaction guys. Try "Jet Airliner" by Steve Miller Band next.
Rock ‘n Me is another great tune by this band
You guys are hitting all the smooth 70's classic rock songs lately and I have to say.........I DIG IT!
Might I suggest in the same vein as smooth classic rock songs, the following
James Gang - "Funk 49"
Not enough folks are playing Joe’s music! One of the finest musicians in the land! Since Lex loves the eighties so much, maybe “The Confessor” would work…. I think I requested that the other day!
Checkout Swingtown by The Steve Miller Band. Actually there's tons of great songs to checkout. The Joker is another classic.
Fail! this is a HORRIBLY edited version of the song... Shame on the bastard who mutilated this amazing song. For your own enjoyment, listen to the real studio version instead of this abomination....
Steve Miller Band are freakin legends! You may recognize this one because Seal did a version for the Space Jam movie, the only one that should’ve been made not the abomination with Lebron in it! Check out The Joker, Abracadabra, Wild Mountain Honey, Swingtown, Keep on Rockin Me Baby.
I stopped this in the middle of y’all saying you may have heard it. You might of heard the remake by SEAL 💕
Brad doesn't like the traveling through space sounds... and the space laser battles of the late 70's and the 80's. lol

I a!ways liked this song. This sounds like an edited version of the original.
Brad your a synthesizer!!!!!!!!!!! HAAAAAAAA hahahahahahahahh
THE ICICLE WORKS "BIRDS FLY" (WHISPER TO A SCREAM)
Love the honesty Brad. I get tired of most reactors just love everything! There’s no way. I grew up with this music and I did not love EVERYTHING! Thank you peace ✌️
TIMBUK 3 "LIFE IS HARD" (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO IS A MUST SEE)
You probably heard the remake on Space Jam as a kid.
Space Jam, you heard that song in that movie
Saw him, Tom Petty, and Peter Frampton at Mountain Jam, 2017, Hunter Mountain, N.Y. Awesome weekend jam.
That was not the full song. It was seriously cut.
Stevie "guitar" Miller....in my top 6 all time greats.
I doped with this album in 1976 when i bougt it
Jetliner and Joker are my favorite Steve Miller songs. All of their songs were good.
Swingtown by Steve Miller please
I'm old.....Time has been slippin 😁
DONNY IRIS "AH!! LEAH!!" & "LOVE IS LIKE A ROCK"
Steve Miller: Space Cowboy, Grand Funk Railroad: RocknRoll Soul
Nice to see Brad having more fun here!
Yep Jetairliner another great song
A cruiser 😂 nice!! Add that one to the list.🤘
There is a opening to this song that you missed.
While Steve Miller is a great guitarist and most of his songs are dominated by that instrument, here, the keys take the lead, but you cut off the ending high note, and the beeps at the very end. Nicht gute.
Was this a shortened version of the song?
Lex, the album and radio of the day played the 1:15 “SPACE INTRO” before this song, so you missed out on the connection when the synthesizer riffs were reincorporated later in the song.
great interpretation of an eagle flying through the revolution...love it.
I really dig this tune
The best Steve Miller song is "Kow Kow."
That song was chopped
Y'all should check out Jungle Love, Jet Airliner, The Joker, to name a few. Stevie Guitar Miller has many great songs.
Next SMB you need to do is The Joker.
THE ROMANTICS "WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU",, "TALKING IN YOUR SLEEP",, "ONE IN A MILLION" & "WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES"
REAL LIFE "SEND ME AN ANGEL"
Another really underrated band. I was also a teen in the 70's...still have this 45...yup, 45...
Doo doo do do doo doo do
Hey...finally 😀
I want to fry up an eagle, just to see....fry up an eagle, use the Colonel's recipe...I want to fry up an eagle..............LOL
Steve is so cool
Next Steve Miller song you should do is Wild Mountain Honey. It's soooooooo smooth! And after that, check out Jungle Love.
Great reaction.... I waited and watched about 40 of y'all's videos and I am now convinced LEX is reincarnated....
1976 ... the bicentennial ... John Lennon was still alive, "Star Wars" was a year away from the theaters.
Space music really belongs to the 1970s, IMO.
Please react to Unite at the Stake,... Take the Money and Run,.... The Joker!!! You WON'T regret it!!!!!
Will see him next week at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver, Colorado. September 11, 2023. He still sounds great, which is why he sells-out the place.
Wh, Wh, what?!?! Say u don't like the 80's sound?? First time that I've heard that from a reactor person. Had to Un-Subscribe ya there, Bradly, sorry, there Lexie.
Another favourite, thanks. Followed him from '67 onwards. A survivor, still playing.
I finally subbed lol,,,been watching you're channel for a minute....love the history of the channel,,,grew up dirt poor,,,only thing I had was music...I'm in my mid 50s ,,,,I lived through all that shit,,,and frgn loved it!
Steve Miller’s Godfather is Les Paul so there was no way he was going to fail!
Unfortunate this song is still referring to the same reality. No solution yet. I've always loved this song. Wanted to be that Eagle..❤
catfish. To drive high at 19 and this song came on. Couldn't focus on driving with those trippy keyboards.
LEX IS WAY COOLER THAN BRAD !!! But this time I have to agree with Brad I didn't like the 80's overdone synthesizer music either..
Please check out “The Joker” by Steve Miller band!!! Lyrics “I really love your peaches , wanna shake your tree” 😂✌🏼🔥 so great!! ❤️
Y’all should checkout Chilliwack next! They are just north above the border from Steve Miller Band (Seattle), from Chilliwack, BC , Canada “My Girl, Gone Gone Gone” & “Watcha Gonna Do” is a BOP
Love your reactions. Have to listen to Steve Miller “Take The Money and Run”
Roxy Music “More Then This”
SuperTramp “It’s Rain Again”
So cool! I loved that song when I was a child. Greetings from Germany! ✌😊
Aloha, Steve used to come to Maui every couple years...we loved him for that...High School memories...
One of my all time favourites. Gorgeous tune with great radical lyrics.
Speaking of dance move songs:
"Do the Hustle"
"Shake your booty"
