- Spring Inshore Saltwater fishing in Murrells Inlet, SC
Waking up before sunrise and loading the Hoodoo Kayak and heading toward Murrells Inlet for a morning of fishing. I was hoping for a good topwater bite, so I started throwing a Heddon Super Spool Jr. After about 30 mins with no bites, I switched to a Zman Pearl white Diezel MinnowZ. Again, no bites.
I pulled out the Big Bites Chartreuse grub. That’s when I picked up a Bluefish. I had several Grubs bitten in half and decided to Switch again to a Bass Assassin. I was working a small creek mouth and hooked into a surprise. My first Sting ray of the year. It was the size of a dinner plate. I released it and called it a day. Hope you enjoy the video. Tight lines!

Them spot tail bass out there that’s for sure!
Absolutely. I spooked up a few. Just couldn’t get them to chew that day. Oh well that’s fishing. 👊🏻👊🏻
Good to see you back out Chris I was out 2 Sundays ago wound up with 3 flounder. I see you added some goodies to the element as I did as well brother
Thanks. I needed to add a few things if I was going to start tournament fishing. Congrats on the flounder 👊🏻👊🏻
Yea I added some stuff to mine and upgraded my crate. What rod and cup holder did you go with brother? Also if you don't mind how do you have your stake out pole mounted
I went with the YakAttack cup holder and omega rod holder. I mounted an anchor Tilley also YakAttack. Easy to mount took me about 15 mins. Totally worth it.
I enjoy your videos... Quick question I am heading towards knee surgery in may... I will be down a few months which screws up my trip to Murrells in June every year.... Is an April trip worth it fishing wise?.... I don't believe I will run into any Red fish.... And I am wondering if the trout or flounder are in the creeks in april?
April is a great time to be here. Reds trout and flounder will all be around the Inlet. Get out and go.🤙
It is a death trap trying to get in and out of there, they really need to open that road up a bit especially the entrance.
The road does need some work but I like the access to the south end of the Inlet. 👍
Where's that access? Looks like a good spot. I did find that park Moose Park, lost at sea memorial.
I launched from the Oyster recycling Center. It's popular with kayakers and small boats
@@DeadCalmOutdoors Found that Oyster spot, thank you. What a great place. Exactly what I was looking for. Caught a small croker.
Nice👊🏻
What kind of rod and reel do you use. Thanks
Hey Joel. I use two setups most of the time. One this a Penn Battle 3 2500 spooded 10lb. beyond Briad. the rod is a 6'6" bass Pro Shops Inshore Extreme Rod in Medium Fast action.
The other combo is a Lew's Capt Blair Wiggins Seafoam Combo. 2500 Lews reel on a 7'6" med fast action rod spooded with 10lb Power Pro.
hope this helps.
Thanks I guess I’ll take that into consideration since I’m still using Walmart rod and reel and I saw your cast and it was smooth.
Keep this in mind. If your going to spend money spend it in the rod. The rod does everything. Get a good rod with the action you want. The rod cast the line, sets the hook, and you feel the bite. 👍
