Man the difference in animation is a culture shock for me. I actually was alive during the entire original run but man. Digital vs hand drawn is such a contrast here. Glad Angelica got her punishment and makes me realize that while she was a brat she got karma a lot more than I realized. Good on the writers there.
@@LilyBannel Even though I prefer Curse of the Werewolf over Candy Bar Creepshow, even I have to admit the digital animation doesn’t have the finesse of the hand drawn animation. Here’s a suggestion: the Courage the Cowardly Dog episode “Ball of Revenge” talk about wasted potential! It has a solid premise, but Eustace’s motives are so petty and stupid. Not to mention, his choice of villainous recruits. I mean, Katz and Le Quack are obvious (and perfect), but instead of choosing other, more interesting villains, like Schwick, the King of Flan, Mad Dog, and the Chicken from Outer Space, he chooses villains that don’t make any sense: the clutching foot (which, to quote Yzma, IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!!), the Cajun fox (whom nobody cared about or asked to return), the Queen of the Black Puddle (who tried to kill Eustace), and the weremole.
It honestly serves Angelica right to get punished on Halloween. They keep telling her not to eat any of the candy in the bowl or no trick-or-treating. But does she listen? No! She’s too blinded by pride, greed and gluttony to even care and just keeps doing it anyway even when it was gonna get her in trouble. She even lied to the babies by telling them that when they wear their costumes, they become actual monsters themselves, and even tried to take the babies’ candy even when Chuckie got them out of that haunted house attraction. I can see why Angelica is dressed as a princess. She’s not a nice princess, she’s a mean, spoiled, and bratty kind who should be banned from Halloween for life! Or at least till she’s 20.

Hey Matt, could you review these Rugrats episodes; Pickles vs. Pickles, Runaway Angelica, and Princess Angelica someday for your next videos of Angelica Can Eat It?
@@mattneff In Pickles vs. Pickles, Angelica tried to sue her parents for making her eat broccoli. 🥦 In Runaway Angelica, Angelica destroyed her father's office and Drew punished her, causing her bratty daughter to wreck her room and have a major tantrum, as she decides to run away.
Regarding Dee-Dee's jack-o-lantern: my siblings and I did classic faces when carving pumpkins. I carved a smile for three consecutive Halloweens, but with one less tooth than the last. I'm guilty of swiping Halloween candy, too. I was sick to my stomach on the day before Halloween in grade 3, but still recovered well enough to go trick-or-treating. I'm picky about even candy, though. Sour Patch gummies were always a big no.
It is astounding how many episodes of Rugrats I never saw, these two included. Though at 1:17, I do sometimes wonder if "Curse of the Werewuff" was inspired by a plot element in "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge" (2001), given that this episode was released ten monthes later in late August 2002 (Though it didn't air on Nickelodeon until October 28 of that year).
Lol, I remember the Reptar Bar Episode! Being a little kid myself, I thought the Haunted House was actually pretty scary, although I also thought the ending with Stu and Drew arguing over who should go in to investigate while Angelica screamed for her Reptar Bar was hilarious. XD
Drew dressed as a depressed businessman who works at a deadend job and Charlotte is dressed as a successful businesswoman who’s on her second affair lol
I bet this episode of Rugrats inspired the Jimmy Neutron Halloween episode "Nightmare In Retroville," where Jimmy's latest invention actually turned his friends into monsters.
You should do Angelica's Worst Nightmare and The Mega Diaper Babies for a future episode of Angelica Can Eat It! 4:48 Also, why do I feel like it should be Betty dressed as the football player and Howard dressed as the cheerleader?
My Thoughts: 1. Angelica can eat some candy corn, Sun Maid raisins, and Almond Joy. (Why? Because they're all commonly disliked Halloween treats.) 2. In "Chuckie's Complaint" (which is the sister episode to "Ghost Story", the episode featuring the monsters from Aaahh! Real Monsters), there was a candy bar called Chocolate Cheese. It had a jingle that was most likely not approved by the FDA; "🎶If you like chocolate with gum underneath, if you like caramel sticking to your teeth, if you like the dentist drilling cavities, then you'll love Choco, Chocolate Cheese!🎶"🍫🧀 3. I hope someday you review "Rebel Without a Teddy Bear"; in that episode, Didi takes Henry, Tommy's favorite stuffed lion, away to wash him. When Angelica hears of Tommy's plight, she convinces him to be bad like her, especially considering that Drew, her father and Tommy's uncle, regularly gives into her demands. Together, Tommy and Angelica trash Tommy's house, and Angelica tells Tommy to finish the deed by throwing Didi's favorite necklace in the garbage. Tommy refuses after some coercing from Chuckie.
Angelica ONLY deserves Smartees. And yes, the American ones. The chalky, disgusting flavorless disks, not those European M&M type things. And not even the courtesy of the Tropical ones. I take that back. She deserves only the licorice flavored Necco Wafers.
I always saw her behavior as Charlotte seems pretty restrictive and Drew is pretty permissive. When they show the family eating in one episode it's a pretty balanced diet and Angelica being 3, of course thinks Candy is the way to everything. @@Misto_deVito6009 I still prefer Curse of the Werewolf for going much further into the Halloween theme, the babies actually participating in the holiday with wearing costumes and walking around a haunted carnival and of course, Angelica getting her just desserts. Candy Bar Creep Show isn’t bad, but it is debatably the weakest special of the series.
@hunterolaughlin Yeah, that one has them actually move around, but i think i feel a lot of nostalgia for this one. Especially since I ate some rugrats themed stuff before

Poor chucky thinking he willl stay a werewolf Angelica should not have told him that i feel bad for chucky but the ending of the rugrats Halloween was very good 👌
Ok I’m glad you also did the og season 1 Reptar bar Halloween episode because that’s the one I’m much more familiar with as a Rugrats fan!
Plus the og first few seasons are more peak!
I wish Phil and Lil got dressed up as the Grady Twins from the Overlook
Has anyone else compared the orginal 5 Rugrats with the Dino kids of Land Before ?
Tommy to Littlefoot
Chuckle to Petre
Phil and Lil to Ducky and Spike
And Angelica to Cera .
Rugrats REALLY had a thing for shots from inside the mouth for some reason.
👀
What's with Didi's costume? I hope those aren't bandages because they are going to be painful to pull out of her hair.
I miss Halloween specials like these
I don't why, but I used to like the "I want my Reptar Bar" line when I was younger.
ANGELICA is about to get these hands 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I actually have this episode on DVD. And I think it still works.
"We're not babies, we're monsters!"
What's the difference?
When i went to anime NYC in 2017 FYE had a boot there with real reptar bars. They had a green cream in them that turned your tongue green. Unfortunately it only lasted for about 5 minutes.
Happy Halloween
Rugrats arthur calliou whats next barney!?
I’ve never understood why the parents never put her in the playpen with the other toddlers I guess she’s big enough to climb out but still
The candy bar episode is my favorite! I loved it back then and still do now
@@Misto_deVito6009 I still prefer Curse of the Werewolf for going much further into the Halloween theme, the babies actually participating in the holiday with wearing costumes and walking around a haunted carnival and of course, Angelica getting her just desserts. Candy Bar Creep Show isn’t bad, but it is debatably the weakest special of the series.
@hunterolaughlin Yeah, that one has them actually move around, but i think i feel a lot of nostalgia for this one. Especially since I ate some rugrats themed stuff before
NGL, I prefer the 2021 version of this special (The Werewolf Hunter) because it was less childlike and more engaging and fun and rightfully scary.
It’s nice to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t mind the 2021 reboot. Honestly, with the news of the upcoming live-action/CGI hybrid film, I’m sure there’ll be more appreciation for the reboot.
Really? I haven't watched any of the newer episodes
@@hunterolaughlinI was defending it the whole time. It isn't without it's flaws, and it could have done more changes to make it a seperate entity. But I'm glad I was able to enjoy it despite those caveats and not blindly cave into the masses. I would have missed out on the good stuff it did, if I did.

How upscale is the Pickles' neighborhood that they can give out those large, Easter quality Reptar candies? Full bars, nothing, that's chocolate bunny sized and you can't tell me different. Something like that would cost 3 bucks a pop at least, even back then. I'm sure the lousier, real life Reptar Bars that only sell at FYE are like 5 bucks and not even shaped like him.
Please do FU Muffy and Francine for The Fright Stuff
Chucky’s step mother Kira is Japanese though
Yo wake up babe, Matt Neff just dropped a new FU Angelica vid. 🗣️🔥
Also grandpa lou swears in the episode, wtf what was that
