I wish Williams would be competitive again
If McLaren can, they can. But they will need a lot of help
Instead of Honda being a joke. Williams went from winning to biggest joke of F1
@@cyanwise3024 yoke*
Williams can never hope to win again. Not without a partnership or a massive change in F1's direction.
@@joe718gt4 McLaren can't either. McLaren will need many years. This is Mercedes and Ferrari's field now.
Everyone else is just trailing.
I just realized that Nico Rosberg went through a LOT during his F1 run. He had to work with the industry's big veterans and the fans looked down on him for being the ~golden boy~, so much pressure from both sides. They also talk about how Schumacher did "mind games" with him, but let's be honest, that was lowkey bullying. Then later on, his friendship with Hamilton deteriorated due to their rivalry.
Like seriously, no wonder he retired early, he gave up so much for the sport right from the start
Welcome to F1!
@@GloomGaiGar if you want to say that's normal no it's definetely not, the only 2 guys I can think about getting more shit in modern F1 than rosberg are Lance Stroll and Ralf Schumacher. Stroll because he is portrayed as a talentless paydriver and that he is only there because of his dad. And Ralf because well, his biggest and hardest opponent was always his brother, quite hard to meet expectations when your brother is the most successful F1 driver ever.
guess he couldn't handle it
He calculated a method ,a way to beat Hamilton. It was clever ...probably tough to replicate but with superb driving and intelligence Nico pulled it off .Problem is I think the defeat probably made Lewis a better driver .
Cheese Steak Jimmy's Couldn’t handle it? He got the wdc against Lewis. Silly you
Nico has balls to do an interview like this...content i subbed for.
I've seen them. They're huge
It's not balls, it's called respect.
Why balls? Moron.
What a kind, gentle, intelligent person Claire Williams is. To demonstrate those first two qualities in the stressful world of F1 is rare indeed. I really wish she was still leading the team. (And to behave with such class in the face of the most dire straits competitive situation is something a lot of us could learn from.)
I also want to say that I find it sad that they couldn't find employees
with an emotional connection to the cars (and F1 in general.) I think a
lot of us would love to work for Williams, as we have a deep love for
the sport and the organization.
Nico, I love that you haven't just used your name to make a UA-cam channel and throw out any old rubbish for the sake of it. You really put the effort into creating top quality content. Loving it, keep it up!
Yeah, this was a lot better than his first one
For the "Sake of it" being money lol
Totally
Agreed
💯
Claire is in a class of her own and I feel it's a crying shame that F1 lost her. Super interview Nico!!
all good things must come to an end i guess
She is a classy lady, lovely person. But come on? She was a dreadful team principal. She let the boat sink under her management
Hope williams car return the Williams of the golden era... They deserve it, such a special team.
Naaaah, this will not happen with the current F1, its way too money intensive

It's a shame that Clair doesn't use social media, because despite all of the criticism that people seem to throw at her, there is a whole world of people (myself included) who think that she is just wonderful. And i wish she knew how inspiring she is to us.
I clicked on this video by mistake and thought "ehh. It's just Williams".
An hour later.. "Is it over?? I need more of Claire". What an awesome powerful interview!! I am gonna start cheering for Williams.
thank you
same with me
Yes, omg
Williams is a great team sure their current performance has been lacking but I think Claire atleast is a die hard F1 fan and has a lot of passion for the sport. Williams definitely is a special team and put in a lot of work on their own and build a car on their own with limited resources.
I really thought the same
Honestly, Nico is my favourite human being!
My god, I have been waiting on an in depth podcast with Claire. Lovely and thanks alot Nico. Keep these coming, all the insights of these inspirational people are priceless!

Because of Claire's honesty , this was your best interview, but I do think your technique is improving
I would really recommend the Williams documentary (2017) on Netflix. Then it will be clear where Claire gets her honest, strong attitude from (... her mother)
Really interesting to actually hear from Clair and get some insight with the struggles. makes me want Williams to succeed even more now.

WOW, big respect for Williams and Claire Williams, Nico blessing us with high quality content 10/10 keep going Champion !
thank you for watching!!
What a lovely lady, hope we see more of her and that she and the legacy doesn,t fade away.
I've always had a place in my heart for Williams. They were my reason for watching F1 in the Alan Jones days.
Claire is an example of the perfect boss. Great understanding of how to run a team to be super succesful....
Nico's interviews are actually interesting and don't rehash the same questions every time and I love that he get's people to take all this time for him. Formula 1 needed a channel like this, this is were we actually learn about the people.
I really respect her a lot, just to imagine the pressure she goes under and still have such a likable personality. She deserves a lot of success, I’m sure she’s gonna make it!!!!

This is the best podcast for two particular reasons.
1-he as a champion has experience and he is “sharing” it with the guests, giving advices, tips, clues, and it is much better than someone who just ask and has nothing to add into the guests life.
2-it can a driver or a leader in the sport, he is gonna give this advices anyway, he can do it and still respect and be respected.
The best podcast.
An historic team like Williams must return to the glories of the past. Greetings from Italy.

This interview really gave me a new perspective on Claire Williams.
Don’t really care how she does or if she’s in the right place - I just really like her.
Nico is such a great interviewer, even without notes. Claire is an amazing person! Her kids are so lucky to have her as a mother
Dare I say interviews such as this with Claire are more interesting than some of the races ? Really hope she can lead the team back to the pinnacle of F1.
I grew up in the 90's in SA and my dad and my brother would have this Sunday ritual ending off with watching the F1 race. During those years we all supported Williams and were celebrate big time when they win.
I got back into F1 this year after totally losing touch for the last 20 years and to my shock found out that Williams are in dire straights. I cant help but still to support them and hope that things can approve. I sincerely hope they earn a point this year and see some kind of light in the tunnel. I believe in Claire and know things will pick up.
Dear Nico,
Thank you so much for this amazing channel. I enjoy watching your videos, they're fun and insightful at the same time.
You are one of my favorite F1 drivers of all time. Your story inspires me so much. You went through a lot trying to achieve your dream, and you finally did it, after years of trying. I want to be a pro tennis player when i grow up, and i started playing tournaments recently, 8 months ago. and i havent won a single match in them since. Lots of times i've felt like giving up. I lost lots due to putting pressure on myself. But i remembered your career, and how you had to wait 111 Grand Prix before you could be on that top step, and it made me realize that i should never give up. You made me realize that all you need to do is keep at it, and work as hard as you can, and the results will come
Even if i dont become a pro player. Your story and the lessons i learned from it, will always be invaluable to me in my future.
Thank you nico. Thank you so much for everything you've given to Formula 1 and to sport itself. Thank you for inspiring this 13 year old and so many others to always continue to work hard, and to never give up on their dream.
Sincerely,
Scuderia Aichi.
Can I drop my address here ? So when you succeed in your sport and win , Aus, french, open or other tournament's do send me a your pic with your autograph on it.😃

The 1-2 last row Jokes are to much
What a joy to see you both in conversation! Claire is a legend, and the two of you having a conversation with so much history between you is great to watch!
I’m a founder and a leader in a business and I often think I’m too “nice” to my team. Good to see that I’m in good company in that regard, and that being “nice” is a leadership style that actually resonates well with talented experts who might be a bit more sensitive/sensible than others.
I´d like to see Kubica next. One of the oldest drivers nowadays and added to that brave at being back in a machine that almost killed him, in a struggling team and handling the wheel at 80% his full physical capacity.
Sorry for the late reply to your comment, but I agree, I'd love to hear from Kubica. He's an inspiration to me as someone who due to family and financial circumstances was only able to start dipping my feet in motorsports in my mid 20s, seeing someone who has almost 10 years of age on me perform at that level in between a lot of younger people, gives me the courage to make something of my race efforts, though most likely never on a professional level.
@@kennytheamazing bro I hope you make it far in motorsport and remember to have fun always
@@matthew_luo Thanks a lot, banana man.
I had the pleasure of meeting Claire at the Canadian GP this year, and got to tell her how inspirational she is to me and women everywhere. I truly hope Williams is able to turn their success around and get back to where they once were. Whether that happens or not, Claire has done an amazing job and has proved that women belong in motorsport.
Splendid interview between a brilliant team boss and a genuine and kind F1 world champion. Beautifully done, Nico. And Claire, an individual under enormous strain at the moment, is gifted with an emotional maturity and vision that demonstrates to me that Williams F1 is in the right hands.
Nico, my favorite interview of yours previously was with my hero, Mika H., but this interview now stands on top. It inspired a deep emotional response and left me with the warmest of sentiments. Two genuine people speaking candidly with each other about things that matter. Truly lovely.
Soooo good to hear her express herself and get the deeper view on Claire and Williams.
Thanks Nico great interview and to Claire you are a powerhouse of a woman, don't let anyone tell you otherwise... PERIOD.
Williams has an uphill battle to get further up the grid but you have the tenacity, strength, and passion to succeed that oozes from you just as your father did and still does.
I know this was done over a year ago, and things haven't gone well for this iconic team. But Claire your a fighter as is your family and the team as a whole.
KEEP UP THE FIGHT
Thank you so very much for this video! Claire is really great to listen to. So inspirational and definitely a big role model for every boy but especially girl watching the sport. Awesome to see how she puts her heart into her work even though her team is not at the level it once was. I really hope Williams will be able to return to their bygone era of glory. They are a team which is more personal than others which I really love about them. And lastly they at least look like they don't give as much importance to bringing in millions as to trying to race great races!
No
If a girl needs another girl doing a thing to inspire them to do the same then she doesn't really have the desire she needs to achieve success.
If you don't push for the simple fact that you are doing what you love and want to achieve success in that field cause it's what you want to do then we wouldn't have the 1st astronaut, the 1st musician, the 1st hockey player, cause they would all be waiting for inspiration from other people, which is stupid.
@@racebug6134 exactly
@Ding Dong i also understand what you mean, the thing is that people/companies are only worried about inspiring girls so they can claim "look at me and how virtuous I am/how diverse my company is!". That's why there are so many funds and scholarships for girls to get into certain fields. And when girls are not massively adhering to those programs, (mostly cause those fields, in the majority of the cases, don't align with what the majority of girls are interested in) it's cause "the evil man is gatekeeping".
Nico Rosberg is one of the F1 drivers/ex-drivers I respect the most.
Williams is my favourite F1 team, and I really love Claire.
So this video is gold to me. I didn't even know Nico had a UA-cam channel, what a lovely surprise, specially with all the great content he uploads. I spent the last few hours watching his videos.
Claire is such an exceptional team manager, she actually believes in what she is trying to nurture, it is such a shame she in not still around in F1. Emotive connectivity is a core element in any business and yet the majority of managers go through the process talk about it and are not really committed. Even Claire struggled to answer beyond one good example what she does pragmatically… and it is very hard to drive connectivity as most people do most things for a pay check, it has been bread out of them. I would have loved to have helped her, she talks and you know she is an emotive individual. I assume Nico was referencing Mercedes as 80% and as referenced that was based currently on success. Getting teams to bond holistically emotively is one of the hardest things and yet so rewarding once achieved.
It`s so easy to criticize Claire for William`s performance. Thanks, Nico for showing us her version in a non-codescending way. It helps that you drove for Williams. I sincerely wish them the best.
Top lady . She is very clever. Beutifull. Talented. Very down to earth. All the best for the future clair . Hope you and your team reach the top again....
I have seen the documentary about her father and the williams team. I sure hope Claire will be able to come back on a grand scale and get back on top. Claire has really a wonderfull personality, I like her a lot. She has a good heart ..so from Holland ..lots of greetings and have a flying start after all this covid-19 mess is over and done.

fantastic job by nico to give her lots of time and space to answer each question.
She is pure class
In my heart of hearts, if there is one team that I want to see back at the top, it is Williams.
Thank you Nico for talking to these people that most will never have opportunity to speak with, and for truly engaging them in thoughtful conversation. The question about George Russel here was fantastic, and had such an interesting answer!
The very fact that I watched this 50min long interview, proves that deep down in my heart I have immense respect for Williams Team. While I cheered for Ferrari and Schumacher all these years, I still look at Williams lap times ever so eagerly. I wish and pray they become competitive soon. Thank you Nico for doing this interview (and yes I cheered for you when you became the WC) ... Cheers!!!

Great job Nico! That's the content we'd like to see more of. Also, people from deeper inside the teams, mechanics, engineers, strategists, trainers, factory workers, test drivers, etc.

For me I would love to have seen Ocon behind the wheel, especially with his speed and push Russell
Love how Claire asks Nico questions too purely because she’s interested. Great interview should be over coffee.
Claire is so charming, so dedicated. I really hope she can oversee Williams return to greatness. I really do think that would be marvelous.
Usually, I never comment on anything on UA-cam, Instagram and other social media.
But really, I'd like you two to know, that this video has been extremely inspring and motivating for me to work even harder on reaching my goals and not making excuses.
I really like how Claire put it "hard work pays off". That's really powerful.

Another excellent job Nico. You might be more skilled, studied, and talented as an interviewer than you are/were as a driver. I was a fan of your driving and I mean it!
I could certainly make a case that at the time of your retirement you were easily among the Top 10 Drivers in the world. For what it's worth. I'm in entertainment & media, and watch many interviews everyday both personally & professionally. You are already among my Top 5 Interviewers.
Keeping your chin up and being resilient in the hardest of times. This conversation was truly inspiring and transcended the sport aspect of F1. Great podcast!
Omg this is so fabulous. I’ve followed F1 for over 30 years and have seen the rise and fall of a legendary team and it’s so easy to just say Williams is now just a backmarker. Claire said so much in this interview that every CEO should hear. Life isn’t easy. Culture is the heart of success. This interview has the opportunity to change lives and I’m so happy to have seen it. I’ve always been a Ferrari fan and that’s justifiable in my mind but I’ll be pulling for Williams from now on because Claire has her shit really together and it was inspiring to see the behind the scenes differential as opposed to what is said on the tv or on social media. Claire YOU ROCK.
This is a class interview. Williams are my favourite F1 and it would be a dream come true to see them return to glory one day.
Thank you for this podcast. williams are true icons of motorsport not just f1. what they have achieved over the years is nothing short of remarkable, and personally, for me, its teams like williams that really make f1 what it is. yeah they've been on a bit of a downward slope recently but it wont last forever and i for one will be on the edge of my seat when they rise back to the top- the cream always does!
Its wonderful to see the true personalties of people I’ve only seen on TV. Claire seems like such a down to earth and caring person, I can understand why you pushed for a Instagram page Nico, she would be a role model to young girls (or old or men), even if she has moved out of top spot from Williams F1 now.
50 minutes is not enough for Clarie Williams and Team.
Like father like daughter, She is a fighter and She will be carry team to glorious days.
An excellent interview, she's so right to stay away from the toxicity of social media. Let's hope the cars will do the talking on the track soon and then all of a sudden she'll be the flavour of the month. Criticising is easy.
I used to be an F1 fan for several years then, after Ferrari's winning strake, my interest in it dropped a lot down to nil in the last few years. Now my passion restarted, and what a surprise was finding Williams as the weakest team of the lot!!! Thus, i elected Ferrari (of course) and Williams as my today favourite teams, exactly the way at the turn of millennium they were Ferrari (of course) and Minardi. With one big difference: as an elderly fan i can remember the greatness of the british team. No "oh, it's only Williams" on my part. I confide Lady Williams will take her team back to it's proper position. What a strong, charming and nice personality!!! Thank you Nico for this truly outstanding interview!
Who's here after Williams was sold

Claire Williams you are an inspiration to not only other females but to males as well. I love the way you have compassion but do what it takes to run a team of 600 people. Well done.

Fantastic conversation! Thank you for this Nico, and big thank you to Claire for the open and honest talk. I'm finding so much leadership information (and general life advice) to take into my career field.
This team will be back on top, it's just a matter of time. They are veterans and champions - Claire is awesome. She's doing good things. They will get there again. I have no doubt.
Williams is a great team, they will get around, and get on top again. When F1 comes to my mind there are 3 names in my mind, Ferrari, Williams and Renault (special the last 2, Williams Renault). With all the respect for Ford, Honda, Sauber, Arrows, Cosworth and all other, because the Sport is made by all the very best and who need to get better!
Thanks to Claire, keep it strong.
Rui Tavares McLaren?!
I am blown away with Nico's podcast content! As a young girl (and F1 female fan) fighting for her spot in the corporate world, this was soooooo inspiring! I literally want to get to know so much more about Claire now. It's definitely the best thing I have listened to during my quarantine period (March 2020). Thank you SO much for this, Nico!
Claire @43:45 is so true about the positives and how 1 person with nothing accomplished can get into your head to easily. As weird as it is, it's oddly true but something that can be overcome.
That's something that always made me suffer while growing up. No matter how hard I tried my mother always made sure to put me down. It still haunts me.
You Nico and Claire are the definition of true mentors and high performance leaders. Not only is this interview a lesson for people in the F1 business, but it could as wel serve as a textbook lesson in business and (people) management. Frank Williams did an amazing job raising Claire, you can tell.
Thank you, Nico and Claire, for the great interview.
Claire is incredibly humble and brilliant and I wish her and Williams well for the future.
Now I understand William's team better. She has the heart in the right place
Love Claire, she's so cool! I had a privilege to have a quick chat with her and I can confirm - she's lovely! :)
Nico, great interview, Claire was very humble and down to earth in explaining the challenges of owning and managing a company at the upper end of the spectrum. The costs, the lives, the responsibilities are beyond comprehension by most of her employees and the rest of the world. If she has the capability of managing people and sizing them up, then building a TEAM from those people etc, then good for her..it is extremely hard to be good at all of that. I can not imagine how she balances all of that and has a family, too. I will say that one of the things I think she needs to share with her CEO though is that she expects him to introduce her and make sure the dad in this case realizes that she is “the real boss” and to convey the importance of including her in that conversation. It is only fair for her to expect it and it is respectful for him to introduce her and convey it. Thanks for your hard work, this spotlight on the people behind the scenes shows your viewers what it takes to perform at a job at the highest of levels.
