I, myself also make my on BOS; but, I don't call it my BOS. I call it "My Spiritual Journey Book." I keep it put up at all times. It has all the same things as a BOS. I hand sew all my books like this; because, it is something I like to do. Plus, it puts a lot of my energy into it. More of a personal touch. Just thought I would share this. Beautiful books you have. I just finished making the last two books I will ever make. In my tradition , I am required to own two books. One is for rituals and workings and the other is, well , for the rest of it.
I believe everything in a Witches book should be hand written. And only others of like mind should be allowed to see it and your book should never leave your sight.

Really a blessing to come across you, I have a 3 ring grimoire because i feel its less known compared to the book of shadows im not a religious person im very ecectic indeed, I recommend to anyone who does feel that it should be private to put a cloaking spell page as the first page it really does work i can have it sitting any where an no one notices it touches it or opens it...I love the history of the book of shadows .......When wicca wasn't widely accepted as well as witchcraft they use to meet in the shadows and share their knowledge hence their books became known as the book of shadows! I have a Grimoire, a Book of Shadows and a spell book. My Grimoire holds informational material, my spell book has spells, potions and incense making instructions. My book of Shadows is my journal of each time I do spellwork, divination and the results. I record the date, time, moon phase and planet alignment at the time. It's an easy way for me to keep everything seperated.

thank you for sharing your BOS! I also use a binder. the only thing I don't have is the the journal I keep that a separate spiral notebook I drilled holes into so it would fit in the binder to be put in the back and I can take it out to write I change it every new year or when it's full. You just gave me an idea on how to make an old style Grimoire. Although I like the personal touch to my BoS, ive always wanted an old style Grimoire. The magick in those pages always seemed to be a bit more darker, yet realistic.

When the Dianic coven to which I belonged dissolved, the BoS was destroyed. As members, we also had our own copies of the rituals we each performed, as well as a general copy for the coven BoS. Another coven I was in chose to branch off and "kick out" many of us, including the woman (and close friend of mine) who started the coven. They chose to only return the BoS after they had taken what they wanted from it. The book was given to me by her, part of which I burned and gave her part to burn.
I've heard many individuals discuss destroying the BoS when the coven dissolves and I completely understand the motivation behind it but it brings me sadness.
You mentioned prayers. When you pray who or what are you praying to? Thanks so much!
When I use prayer it is talking or active communication to deity. I use meditation as listening to deity while spell work is actively participating action to bring about manifestation of desire.

LunarWisdom Hi there, I am a wiccan for almost 2 years now but the thing is, I'm redoing my whole book of shadows because its based mainly from the internet, my book of shadows is a binder, and I'm happy with it but I can't seem to handwrite things I simply cant, and I can't make my own "pages" without being creative do you have any tips? And I think I will just make my own BOS pages digitally but make the text grey so when I print it I can ink it with a pen or sharpie, I heard you are only allowed to handwrite your BOS so I was wondering is this method okay?

I believe that the Magickal journal, grimoire, Book of Shadows should contain all she said (Magick and Dreams) but i my journal I keep time, date, any circumstances like head or mind or spiritual set before and after as well as atmospheric conditions and the weather and at sun hours (sun conditions) and at night moon conditions ( i.e. waning crecent , ↓89%. 26 days old etc..)
I think the journal experience is essential but also very dissuading at the first to even practice. So make it as ye will and make it fun!

I've got a brought spell book it says its copyright except for critic all reviews ect so presumable I can't copy from it but then It has templates ect for copying can you copy or not please help I'm unsure about this
I would suggest that you can not use the information in the book to resell as your own, but you could copy from it for your own personal use.
LunarWisdom thanks it was confusing the way it was worded how do you put corrospoindances colour meanings in your book of shadows if books is copyright or do you go to printable pages on Google images and copy from that
Hi, I am not a wiccan-though I am very interested in one day becoming one- but I was wondering have you come up with a ritual or some kind of contingency about what would happen to the information copied from the coven's book of shadows, if the coven should one day be dissolved or if a member should leave? What the oath still hold or would it be allowed to break? And if the information taken from the coven's Book of Shadows and copied to a personal Book of Shadows a grimoire or whatever they call it, would that person be obligated to return that information by deleting it?
I believe each coven would be different. For ours, if the coven should be dissolved the coven's BOS would go with the High Priestess or Priest. The information shared at that point would still be considered Oathbound. If the individuals left within the coven when it dissolved would be uncomfortable with specific information to be left with the HPs or HP then Coven Council would make the final decision. The individuals would not be obligated to return information they gained from the Coven's BOS but with the understanding that the information is still Oathbound.

My shop doesn't exist any longer as I have relocated from the East Coast to the West Coast and had to release many things in order to make the move and reestablish myself in our new location. At this time I am not planning on reopening a shop.

I'm sorry I seemed like a troll in your video about angels. Did not mean to negate your views about angels, but until you have actually experienced them I don't think you should dismiss (kinda not the right words) them. As a see-er, I just think you have a message from one of them to study. Like the watcher Baphomat makes us study the four elements or (pay attention to the elements around you), don't negate your personal angel they have something to teach you also. Plus when you work with the elemental watchers (Baphomat being one of them), they usually give you insights about planetary happenings with the elements and they often want you to work on repair or use of those elements.

This doesn't NOT mean that I do not believe they (that energetic vibration) does not exist, nor does it mean that I have not experienced them (that energetic vibration) nor does it mean I have dismissed them (the entities that exist on that energetic vibration).
I think perhaps you watched my video assuming this and this lead you to believe things about me, my beliefs and my experienced that are inaccurate. Maybe rewatching my video after reading this comment might aid you with understanding what I understand about the entities that YOU call angels.

Isn't it more beneficial, in terms of working magic, to write your Grimoire by hand rather than printing out typed pages? Not saying you're wrong, I'm just asking.

I've heard that, when you write the book by hand, you're focusing on what is being written. And therefore imbuing the book with more energy.
CAP90 Wouldn't that also be true of any words that are typed into the keyboard? When I type out words I am focusing on what I am typing there fore imbuing my intention and Will into the words.

+Katelyn Wagner You can begin teaching them the basics of Wicca with discussion and activities surrounding the elements and their natural environment. My children are older 18 and 14 so I allow them to decide how involved they are with the practice of Wicca.

As a fairly new witch, I think I can help. I became a witch by researching what magic is and deciding if the path is right for me. After that, I researched some spells and practices and other info on things involved in the witchy path. RESEARCH IS VERY IMPORTANT, especially as newbies like us :D. I just did my first spell a couple of days ago. How you go about it should be what suits you and you never have to do something the exact way someone else does unless you want to.
Remember The Witches' Pyramid.

Everything changed for me when i was six and now im 11 i wanted to to sunny and a couple of seconds later it started to clear up and since then my friend that i met at school she was a witch and she realised i had the power to control the weather only in the area im in and every emotion did differnt types of changes of weather

I know for a fact that there are some things that could be called magic, things science can't quite explain, mostly about the powers of the mind.. But potions and enchantments? Do they really work for you? Id like to know.
+jpcancela Potions and enchantments allow the individual to focus that power of the mind that you mentioned. They allow the vibrational frequency of the mind or the thoughts or intentions of the mind to be focused on the manifestation of that thought or intention; bringing the non-physical into the physical. So, yes, these things do work for me.

The future is ever changing. There are many probabilities that an individual can take. I truly believe that if we catch glimpses of what might occur it is Spirit allowing us to make the required changes if we don't like what we see.

LunarWisdom Maybe someone might want to keep their practice a secret. The grimoire is basicly an undeniable document. If someone got a hold of it who wanted to show it to everyone, the owner might not approve.
