I put a 4.5 RE on my 96 XJ. Wish i would have put 5 inch springs in the front too compensate for the weight of a winch and bumper extra battery and onboard air. Only got a .5 inch spring loss over 2 years. Now i know better for the next build.
Good video! Curious about the extra space you showed between the upper shackle mount and the Ruff Stuff bracket. Almost looked like it needed a different bushing maybe???
looks like you need some bumpstops for rear i did a three day over land trip on black bear and bent one of my spring pack cuz i didnt have enough bumpstop
I have thought about doing those no lift relocation brackets but i have too much going on back there. I would need something that welds in and doesn't bolt to the unibody frame rail.
@backcountrybeagles i have about 5" of lift and i don't really want to go any higher but i would like a better shackle angle. This is basically my only option.
Awsome video and channel I stumbled on. I am WAY past this all but i love refreshing my knowledge. I recommend just skipping past leafs with tons and go tins with rear triangulated 4 link and coilovers... not worth redoing and investing twice. Idk my 2 cents.
The XJ's spacious interior and cargo space make it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
They do have a lot of room, but fill up quite quick
Love the shop content! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you, got more coming soon!

thats funny, some pb blaster and my milwaukee impact and even here in the north they zipped right off the u bolts.
Ron, is there anything you can't do???? Great job!

It’s on the list, they’re deff needed!
Hey thanks for the video! I will be doing this soon. Btw what spacers did you install on your 8.8?
They are quadratec 1.25” adapters to fit the JL wheels!
If you guys ever come out to Sand Hollow Utah, hit me up and I’ll take you guys on some trails.
We’re trying to get back down to Sand Hollow eventually, such a fun place!

There are other ones on the market that are weld only options, these could be welded to but I opted to just bolt in.

Thank you! We have two Cherokees. The other one actually has coils in the rear. This one we want to keep leafs…for now 😅
Great video!
Thank you!
I have the same kit. What did you torque everything to?
Fine work - did you consider a coil spring conversion?
I did. Possibly down the road.
@@backcountrybeagles Great! We shouldn't keep the front doing all the work keeping the wheels on the trail
Cool video! What size lift/brand on the front and what size tires have you been running? Love the jeep!!!
Thank you! Roughly 5” of lift up front, it’s a custom long arm kit we build from scratch about 2 years ago. 35” pro comps!
@@backcountrybeagles thanks for the info 👍. I’m a subscriber for sure!
What axles are you running in this video?
High pinion D30 & Ford 8.8 in this video
