I have now the iPhone 14 pro max too and made my first two test videos (handheld and without an app) and I am very satisfied with the final results 😅 best cinematic greetings from a small german UA-cam filmmaker 😂
It looks nice at first sight and the colour is good, but the compression artefacts and the insane amount of oversharpening quickly becomes apparent. Using slow motion makes things looks nice but this is barely better than regular phone footage. It's a shame phone manufacturers don't let you remove sharpening as it's completely unnecessary to have it
Still seeing all the effects of oversharpening sadly. If Apple would allow to turn off any sharpening like Google does (Camera API 2), the image would be many times better. Until then I keep using Android with motioncam (cDNG RAW video) without any processing and fantastic dynamic range.

Unpopular opinion but I liked most of the shots better without the grading. Had more of a classic natural feel opposed to hyper and enhanced. Guess im just too old shcool 😂

I always lower de shadows on iPhone to get a more natural look, would be a nice addition to your settings
Filmic-like look most of the time doesn’t have crashed or too dark shadows 😉

I think there is a miss undestanding... the Bloom effect doesnt affect sharpness... its all in the filmgrain resolution
Yes, it doesn't, but it makes the image and the edges look visually softer

Some shots are in cinematic mode 4K, some are 24p 4K regular mode, some shots are in 4K 60p regular mode. Final project is in 24p

All shot hand-held with post stabilization in one particular shot 😃
