- Scottish Conservatives leader Douglas Ross slammed proposals by the SNP-run Glasgow City Council to axe 800 teaching posts.
Under the plans, primary schools would also close early on Fridays to help slash £51m from the education budget on Scotland's largest local authority. Ross told the First Minister she should be ''embarrassed' by the considerations.

Why doesn't the UKgov have any probelm with the 41 other countries on its approved list UKgov recognises people from overseas with a overseas GRC who come to the UK with a GRC from the approved countries?
How come the UK is telling UK citizens in 1 part of the UK its GRC is not to be treated with equality but overseas citizens coming to the UK with an overseas GRC are to be treated with equality?

@@ScottishRoss27 because they went through due process. They got there certificate through recognised channels which are designed to weed out persons of bad faith. Also they are not 16 years old. GOOD law passes legislative process as the 350 preceding acts prove. I really shouldn't need to point this out to you!!!
@@ScottishRoss27 the rights of trans persons will not impede upon the rights of woman and children in this country whilst there are people like me out there inisiting on appropriate safeguarding measures. Maybe SNP should have spent longer addressing woman's concerns instead of bullying and intimidatung them into silence as they attempted to do with my mum and Auntie campaigning to be involved in the decision making process. When Bruce Jenner s winning woman of the year and swimming records are being broken unfairly by a man in the woman's section things need to be done as equality and inclusion has gone too far.

Every question is answered by diverting to what is going on in England. It’s a sign that she has no answer to issues raised about her failings in Scotland.
She seems to think mentioning the Tories at every oppertunity, is going to put people against them. But all she is doing, is highlighting the fact she has no answers to her own failings, and is a lost cause. It's 1 god damn pence per £ ffs nae 50p per £. And I am more than happy to pay that for free prescription, free university, Child payment, no bedroom tax, help for people with mental health disorders without insisting they stop self medicating before they get help, baby boxes etc etc etc and majority of that would not benefit me personally but I want all Scots to live not just barely survive

The teachers have a choice stay and be taxed out of Scotland or move south as there are plenty of jobs on offer in England and Wales without the threat of being made redundant, the same goes for GP's who are having pay cuts and being forced to work weekends plenty of jobs south of the border if you want to work with job security.

Stopping spreading utter BS, not only are they striking in England, the ones they have are leaving in droves, parents are threatened constantly with legal action even when their kids are ill, kids also have more support in Scotland because a process is in place to help and support kids struggling with school rather than straight to court to fine parents trying their best.

Attainment gap ( measurement of literacy at level 3 ) has now widened from 12% in 2019 to 14% last year and 16 % now. If you take 12% to 16% in 3 years that is a 33% increase in the numbers of less wealthy kids over more wealthy kids failing to achieve the BASIC level of literacy. Whether this is 'poverty' drive, parent driven , teacher driven or Curriculum for Excellence driven, it does not matter. IT IS A FACT THAT THE NUMBER OF KIDS FAILING TO REACH BASIC LEVEL 3 IS ON THE INCREASE EVERY YEAR UNDER AN SNP GOVERNMENT. A DISGRACE AND FAILURE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CURRENT EDUCATION MINISTER SAYS THAT REMOVING THE 'ATTAINMENT GAP' IS UNACHIEVABLE. Simply put an SNP ' FAIL' . .. @@ScottishRoss27 Yes, Close down the wasteful and incompetent Scottish Parliament and the associated wasteful Civil Service. Take the same levels of funding from taxation including the B formula and split it by head of population across the regions councils. The regional councils will have complete fiscal powers for budgeting and borrowing/pay back within their 4 year term. These councils will there after be responsible at local level to deliver for the local people on education, health, social etc. If they succeed they will be voted in again , if they fail they will be replaced . As in every business, deliver or be fired ( Running a country is a business not a talking shop or a televised shouting match reality program ). Something new has to be tried as Tony Blairs' devolution has failed under every measure of cost of setting up/running, effectiveness and social cohesion across the UK. And being realistic I believe that currently being Independent from the UK does not make sense as Scotland currently has the smallest % of people paying into the system to pay for 'running an Independent nation'. This is because we have 5 out of the UKs top 10 Regions with the highest level of households with not one single person working, ( North Ayrshire, Glasgow, Fife to name 3 ) we have 150,,000 people who have NEVER HAD A JOB - EVER ( half of these for over a year ). Only 75% of the population works. I would dearly love to be part of a proud stand on our own feet nation but sadly 25% are not economically active topping up the pot. That's 1 taking out for every 3 putting in. Maybe if more contributed that may change. Maybe we can become a nation again but not with these numbers.

Everyone would have the right to vote as we currently do for their individual regional council leaders who would manage that region within the country. Catch up, Scotland has received record funding recently. Scots get over £2000 per head more funding than those in England.
Swinney cut £1.2 billion from NHS, Social Care and other various services budgets, AFTER getting £1.5 billion from the UK gov to avoid making those cuts. Where’s the money ? Where has it gone ?
Last year the SNP cut over £40 million from the Social Care budget, the very service that is at the root of the problems in the NHS caused by bedblocking.
Any failures are caused by the SNP themselves, nobody else.
