Enjoying your videos. I'm a 62 yr old budding luthier in the Grand Canyon State and would be pumped to be able to up the accuracy of my binding work. Keep the videos coming. Very helpful for likes of luthier wannabes like me. Cheers. Scott
I don’t want to take away from somebody who is a luthier. I am just a dude that likes watching UA-cam. I want to thank both of you for this great content. Thanks gentlemen hope look forward to the next video.
Wow - I’d LOVE that fret mitre box and saw! I’m disabled and cannot work, so obtaining ANY quality tool a financial struggle. I’m building up a good collection… but very gradually as I find I can no longer live without them as alternative methods are just physically too much for me. Thanks for the videos - your finishing series recently was the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen - a really good job!
My 13 year old daughter just started playing violin last year and one day I want to surprise her with a handmade violin. Getting that thickness caliper would certainly help!
I built a fret miter box for my first build. While my box works I have spent all I can on other things. That is dreamy. Everything at stew mac is dreamy. I can't believe that they are giving you these to give away.
The binding jig would be awesome to have. You are so right, the binding is and can be difficult. Yes ,yes , I would be so pleased to have this! Hoping my luck is good! Enjoy all your episodes. I check daily for your exceptional teachings.
Thank you Chris and Matt for your generosity, not only in education but also with these giveaways. That fret slotting miter jig would add a level of accuracy that I haven't been able to achieve freehand. Sign me up please!
I'm not a guitar builder but i'm watching your videos and learn a lot from them. I am a tambura maker ( tambura is the traditional instrument of Croatia and Serbia). I am glad that i can apply your knowledge of guitars to tambura, because the construction of guitars and tamburas is almost the same, there are some diffrences. I would love to have a stewmac thickness caliper. Greetings from Croatia
I am beginning on the guitar building hobby, Have made my first guitar completely by hand and I found the fret slot did and the saw is something I really need.
Guys I would LOVE to have these tools ,I'm a working man like everybody else here and will be a happy builder. Thanks guys for all your videos you have out too.
Good morning guys...I recently discovered your you tube channel and must say very very impressed..thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and thoughts. I am retired and was introduced to guitar building when I was a teen age kid by a friend of mine who learned to build guitars by a luthier here in Maine. He came back from school and showed myself and one other friend to build..well life happened and I dropped it..but the fire to build never died..fast forward to today and after my almost stage 4 colon cancer almost took my life..I stated building again.:) anyway I would be interested in the binding set up...it's the one thing besides set up that gives me trouble. All the tools are awesome and just want to say thanks guys...keep up the good work..you are helping so many❤
I'm a acoustic guitar builder, The fret slotting miter box is in my wish list. Maybe I can use it to make my first new fan fretboard, I have learn so much skills from your channel, Thanks!!!
I’ve built 2 electrics and about to cut the fingerboard slots for the 3rd acoustic very soon. Up to now I’ve clamped a bit of wood to guide the saw for each cut. The fret cutting jig would be a god send. Looking forward to more arm bevel and inlay videos ! Keep em coming guys
Wow, super nice of Stew Mac and you to show and share these. For me the best help would be a miter for frets. The tools I use are sometimes perfect but usually someway to make things work. The frets need to work. This would be a huge help. Great channel guys.
You guys really do a great job explaining the details needed to get it right. Long time player and just starting out and need it all. Thanks for the master level guidance.
Just bought the routing jig a month or so ago, and I'm loving it. Chris is right about the learning curve, but once you have it down it works great. Congrats to whomever wins this one! Be sure to throw a coat of finish & a coat of paste wax onto the bottom of the jig and the top of your work surface so it glides well.
Hi Gents - I'm just about halfway through my 1st acoustic build, and I'm hooked. I hear you on the binding woes, and I have a little 'character' on my 1st build that I'm learning to live with 🙂 Given that, the binding jig would be a godsend, and I even already have the Colt router! Great channel guys, and I'm loving every video...you are making some great content.
Great explanation about the StewMac Thickness Caliper - certainly a very precise “step up” from other ways to measure in these situations - I’d certainly be OVERJOYED to have it! Keep up the great vids!
I am just starting out in business, as a guitar tech, and planning to build as a sideline. That slotting jig would be an awesome addition to my workshop.
Retired Air Force mechanic with a bad back looking for a hobby I can manage, have a guitar and much machine shop experience, going to wood in guitars would be the perfect hobby and I would be honored in selection for any to put to use
Miter Box (that's what she said) kit. Most of my tools are Diy. Always by pre slotted fret boards. Deffinately want to start making my own... Love what you guys are doing thanks for sharing!
The binding jig works especially great for archtop instruments, which is nearly impossible using the other methods available. This is a good thing that you and stewmac are doing 👍
I'm so happy I found your channel. I think it's great that you are passing on great techniques and details for building guitars. I would love to have the fret saw and miter box
Of the 3 different tools, I find the fret slotting jig the most useful to me. I have been terrified of cutting slots free hand and it has been a stopping point for me for a long time. You guys provide such a great service to those of us who are either learning or brushing up on our skills. Thank you
Thanks gents for this series. I bought the Stewmac thickness gauge a little while ago when ir was on sale. A great unit. I am working with hand planes and scrapers. The gauge is really helping. I can wait on the binding unit. I am building acoustic bass guitars similar to the old Ernie Ball Earthwoods. No radius on front or back. I am thinking I will eventually try to radius one or both. After I get better at building. But for now, the binding jig is not vital. But I could really use the fret miter box. I bought one used from a retiring luthier. But it is a really old one. None of the fancy depth or saw giides. The updated unit is so much better. Thanks and keep the videos coming. Really cool to see you working with StewMac.
Just getting into building / repairing guitars... Currently attempting to build a "T' style guitar now... So could and would gladly use and take care of all of them... Thanks for all that y'all do!
I'm just getting started in lutherie, and find myself butting up against the prohibitive costs of starting the trade. Any of these would be a huge help. Thanks again for the great content!
I literally put the fret slotting miter in my StewMac wishlist last week. I've ordered necks for my previous builds but I'd like to do a full scratch build next and the miter would be HUGE for that.
Super cool of StewMac to do this with you guys. The various folks that sell pre-slotted pre-radiused fretboards might not like it, but I'd love to win the fret slotting miter box.
I really enjoy your videos. Instead of watching I should be building. I'd love the router bit set or the thickness caliper. Thanks for your work, its very much appreciated.
I would thoroughly enjoy owning that fret slotting jig. I'm currently borrowing a friend of mine's and I need to give it back, but I also NEED to start building more guitars!!
I am interested in the thickness guage. I am building my first guitar, and do not have a Planer or thickness sander or anything, so I will be thicknessing my top, back and sides with hand planes and sanding blocks. This thickness guage would go a long way towards helping me achieve even thickness along the entire breadth of the wood! I love your channel! Y'all are awesome!
On my first guitar, I made my own fret slotting jig out of wood and the cheapest fret saw I could find because of cost. I also made my own binding jig, which I still use, out a drawer slide, also because of cost. I would LOOOOOOVE to have those tools to take me to the next level. Pretty please pick me for you freebie give away. I am now incorporating many of your techniques into my guitar (s) which are superior to my basic knowledge I started with. I appreciate you sharing your hard earned knowledge base with us luthier wannna bees.
I could use any of these tools! They would definitely step up my game on all my builds! So true, what you said about the costs of getting into building instruments!
I cut all my binding channels by hand, with no power tools currently because the tools are so expensive. The binding channel jig is my dream tool for guitar building!
I would love the binding jig setup. I have struggled with doing binding and this would make my life so much easier. Thanks to you guys and stewmac for doing these giveaways!
I’m just getting started building acoustic guitars. Every one of these tools is on my wish list! I’m up for receiving any/all the StewMac tools you are willing to part with. Thanks in advance!
Fantastic video. Love your content. I'm on to guitar build #3. I already have the first item. Works fantastic. The other two would up my game significantly. So... this comment will put my name in for the thickness caliper.
Wow Binding kit!!! I did my own fox style binding router jig, but this is even better. Please count me in for Bindig router jig, too!!! Guys YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
I would absolutely love the fret slotting miter box. I built my first guitar “from scratch” this past summer, however it was a pre-slotted board. I’ve got my plans for my next one this spring and this time I’d like to make the whole thing truest from scratch. Thanks so much for your channel!
Tool 1 the fret slotting miter box. I bought the thin kerf table saw blade but quickly realized my cheap table saw was wobbly and the kerf came out too thick and ruined a few fretboards before figuring that out. I can’t afford a good table saw as of yet and this tool would really help out with my fretting. As well as eliminate the need to change the table saw blade when I want to slot a fretboard.
I've built two tele's so far, a stewmac kit and another from replaced spares, and hope to one day make my own acoustic as well! I have two huge live edge slabs of black walnut and want to incorporate them into a build. I would appreciate any one of these tools, not gonna be picky! Thanks fellas and thanks @stewmac 😊
Would love the thickness caliper! I am starting to build archtop guitars and this caliper would be invaluable in thicknessing the plates. Thanks for your videos. They are very informative and I've incorporated several of your best practices in build efforts. Thank you!
This is very cool of both you and StewMac! The StewMac Thickness Caliper is definitely a tool that will help me to get a guitar top the right thickness!
Thickness Caliper!~ I've only, to this point, been able to measure an inch into my tops with micrometers. Such a good tool for consistency. Something that has always been out of reach due to price. Would love this one!
I'm looking to start making acoustic instruments, especially carved top celtic mandocellos and mandolas, the StewMac binding routing jig would really help out with them and satisfying my perfectionism. Tool #1. I’m in the middle of building my first neck and was about to order that miter box! I’d really appreciate it! (The neck is for a Framus 5/112 arch top, in case anyone was curious!)
Hi guys! I’ve got a small woodworking shop building nice chicken coops))) But I’m dreaming of starting building a classical guitar some day… You’re right the specific tools needed for this are very expensive. I’ve got some tools already but still miss all the three tools presented today. If I only got the Thickness Caliper… I’d bee the happiest man in Belarus))) 🇧🇾 Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Binding Jig~! What an amazing tool for Acoustic binding. I've been hesitant to do acoustics for lack of the 'right' tools. This jig seems fantastic. hopefully no more tear-out and uneven thicknesses. Guys thank you for thinking about small builders like us. Keep the videos coming. Your transparency and integrity are refreshing.
Hey Guys, Thanks for the video and really liked the guitar finishing videos you two did in Ohio at StewMac. Just completed my third acoustic (at least ready to go to finishing) and yes, binding is a beast. I'm saving my pennies to buy one of those binding jigs. Happy to toss my name in for the chance of winning the binding jig. Thank you for the chance. Craig
Hey guys… have been a subscriber for a while. Enjoy. In the middle of my first kit build and hopefully getting all my screw ups out of the way and learning a lot. Nearly cut off the back cutting the binding! Determined to salvage it but it is painstaking. WHEN I build my next guitar from scratch, I could use a thickness caliper. Keep me on the list- please. Greg
Thanks for doing what you do. Have been enjoying the content. This Binding jig is on my wish list. You will make someone, or me, very happy with these tools.
Pucker fest for sure! I always have to cut my binding slots smaller than necessary and then clean them up by hand afterwards because I can't trust the results of the router by itself. I would love to be considered for the binding jig. Thank you for your informative and entertaining videos. And a huge thank you from aspiring luthiers for your generosity .. no matter who is awarded these fine tools!
It's so awesome that you guys (and StewMac) are doing this for your viewers! I've had my eye on that fret slotting jig for quite some time now, but I just haven't had the money. It would be so great to win this so I can throw out my attempt at a homemade version of it! Thanks for the great content and for the giveaway. Good luck everyone!
Love your channel. I've learned a lot of building techniques from you guys. Been building for about two years and my fret slots leave a lot to be desired. The fret slotting miter box kit would help improve my builds. Thanks for your consideration.
This is very cool of both you and StewMac! I have a router, but I'm still new to using it. The StewMac Binding Router Bit Set will open lots of opportunities for me to up my game!
The StewMac fret slotting jig has been on my 'Gotta Get List' for years. I've built my own miter jig but it is in no way comparative. Please throw my name in the hat for the StewMac miter jig. Also, thanks for all the hours I've enjoyed your videos.
Fret slotting miter box would go well as I become an intermediate guitar repair/Ukulele building newbie luthier. Great job on the videos, really enjoy watching them!
Very Nice of Stew Mac and you guys. I would love the Fret Slotting miter Box kit. I am currently working to perfect the fretwork. I know I'm a sick puppy but I am really enjoying the process. I love working in detail so the fretwork is drawing me but its time to get more serious about it.
that fret slotting mitre box looks like a work of art just by itself
Enjoying your videos. I'm a 62 yr old budding luthier in the Grand Canyon State and would be pumped to be able to up the accuracy of my binding work. Keep the videos coming. Very helpful for likes of luthier wannabes like me. Cheers. Scott

what does this even mean?
Wow - I’d LOVE that fret mitre box and saw! I’m disabled and cannot work, so obtaining ANY quality tool a financial struggle. I’m building up a good collection… but very gradually as I find I can no longer live without them as alternative methods are just physically too much for me.

Yeah, I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a binding jig this year. I've had the old dremel attachment from Stew Mac for like 25 years!
Thickness calipers would be the next best tool for my guitar building progress. Keep up the good work guys.
The fret slotting jig and saw would be an incredible treat.
Thickness Caliper would be a perfect tool to add to what I have now. Thanks for these wonderful videos blokes. We are all learning a lot. Cheers!
I just about purchased a thickness caliper the other day, but I decided to wait. Winning one would definitely help a lot. Thanks for all content.

On #6 so feel like an intermediate. Fret slotting jig would really help. Thanks for all the content. You guys are great.
Man, that Binding Jig would really help me finish my latest guitar. That would be perfect!

This is very cool of both you and StewMac! The StewMac True Channel binding jig is something that will be a game changer for installing binding!

I am interested in the thickness guage. I also made my own binding jig, which I still use, out a drawer slide, also because of cost. I would LOOOOOOVE to have those tools to take me to the next level. Been following for a while. I am in the process of building my 2nd and 3rd guitars. Electric for now.
I would love the binding jig setup. I have struggled with doing binding and this would make my life so much easier. Thanks to you guys and stewmac for doing these giveaways!
I'd love the fretting setup. Thanks for the opportunity.
I’m just getting started building acoustic guitars. Every one of these tools is on my wish list! I’m up for receiving any/all the StewMac tools you are willing to part with. Thanks in advance!
The fret slot jig is ace. Could really help me out with my builds. Great work guy’s 👍
Great to see your generosity to help others!
Fantastic video. Love your content. I'm on to guitar build #3. I already have the first item. Works fantastic. The other two would up my game significantly. So... this comment will put my name in for the thickness caliper.
That fret slotting mitre box would be great to have. I’m looking forward to building both an electric and acoustic guitar in the next year. Cheers!
Any of these "kits" would be a blessing to have! So nice of you guys giving this stuff away.
That Fret slotting miter would be great! Definitely want that one!
Boy oh boy, that Fret slotting jig sure would look great on my bench and my fret slots would ALWAYS be straight!!
That saw kit is incredible and would help out building up my tools arsenal.
Oh my I really could use that caliper, I've been on the fence and this would be great.
Being Canadian it would help out so much because our dollar's exchange rate puts us at a severe disadvantage putting many of these tools out of reach for me. Thank you for sharing your very informative videos and to StewMac for making quality tools.
Love you guys. I have dabbled in woodwork, but I am able to learn from you and enjoy your videos, so I am stoked to have found your channel and step up my game. I would love to have that thickness gage to better voice my tops. It is great that there is still a niche for hand-built guitars, and voicing seems to be it. A thickness gage seems like the way to go to step up my voicing game!!!.
Tool #1. I’m in the middle of building my first neck and was about to order that miter box! I’d really appreciate it! (The neck is for a Framus 5/112 arch top, in case anyone was curious!)
That miter jig and saw would save so much time and would come in handy
The binding jig would be such a big help to have. I love the channel and the content very admirable work and inspirational
I'm slotting many fretboards these days and the mitter saw box would help me do that faster and with more accuracy. Thanks for for making these videos
I have wanted one of those feet saw kits for years….YEARS! One day I will have one.
That binding jig looks awesome, That would be a great asset , thx for what you guys do !!
Agree100% on your comments about bindings. It's what I struggle with the most. Could really use that's up.
Keep up the good work!
Binding Jig~! What an amazing tool for Acoustic binding. I've been hesitant to do acoustics for lack of the 'right' tools. This jig seems fantastic. hopefully no more tear-out and uneven thicknesses. The fret saw and mitre box wold be fantastic for my guitar building.
I like the fret slotting tool. Especially the saw. I have been looking for a fret-slotting saw and this setup would be a great addition to my tolls.
Thanks for doing what you do. Have been enjoying the content. This Binding jig is on my wish list. You will make someone, or me, very happy with these tools.
That binding jig looks awesome too
And that binding jig too! it is always a daunting task for me!
The miter box & fret pull saw would be a fantastic addition for my hand guitar workshop … I’ll buy that fret template, myself.
I’ve been eye balling that binding routing jig kit lately! Would be a great addition!
I could really use the binding jig. Awesome you guys could do this to help out starting builders.
That miter box set is pretty sweet. I'd put that to good use. Thanks for doing these!
The miter box would have a nice home in my shop! Thanks for all the information.
