Am I the only one that sits outside at night looking at the stars, listening to ODESZA, wondering where we came from, looking around realizing how amazing this universe and everything in it truly is?
Brandon Kendall No, Same here:) I feel like I'm floating weightlessly through the universe when I play this song. You know a song is awesome when it sounds good and makes you ponder on higher things.
It's difficult to describe Odesza's sound because it is so unlike any other. There's a diaphanous quality to their music, a spell-binding idiosyncracy that transports you into another world the moment the eclectic drum patterns come in. One moment you have flawlessly syncopated claps and short vocal samples, and the next, jaw-dropping vocal arrangements of varying pitch, topped off with a highly-addictive all-round organic texture that feels just so good. Simultaneously introspective and psychedelic, humble and exotic, Odesza not only manages to capture our hearts but also the very essence of our souls. It is ethereal and it is sublime, yet unequivocal all the same. Every track is a masterpiece in its own right, delievered like a dream.
I was driving in India with my Indian boyfriend and his friends and I played this song in the car. They all recognized the sample of the woman singing from an old Bollywood song they used to hear when growing up. I love those moments of magical connection and synchronicity
The shape that's spinning is called an isohedron. It's a spherical shape made out of 20 equilateral triangles. Five triangles to make the cap, 5 to make the bottom (which are both essentially extruded pentagons), and 10 around the sides.

I discovered this song when I was like 11 yo… I’m 20 years old now. This song got me out of a deep depression as a child and gave me a form of escape from reality. I tried showing my parents the song as a kid and they laughed at me because it wasn’t with lyrics like standard music has… I then cried and listened to this artists’ music. Even if it was a brief 3 minutes or so, … every time I played it it felt like an eternity and made me yearn for more feelings of nostalgic euphoria that I could never understand. When I listened to this song, I was reminded of the pictures I've seen of the Himalayas and Hindu Kush mountains and the peoples that live there. My dream is to travel there one day, learn and immerse myself in their cultures, and culminate my experience through a montage of footage with this song as the music:))
