I sucked at f1 and GTA time trials even when I completely nailed the corners. It was bc of my R2 button, I did this and now I’m up 5 positions in f1. Big big difference!
My controller just keep pressing R2 even though I'm not even pressing it but when i switched to another controller it worked fine. any ideas to fix it?
The solution more than likely has to do with the circuit connection that the button touches, either it’s broken or there’s moisture causing the controller to think it’s being pressed. You’d either have to check for any debris or moisture or if there’s none, replace the connection
Yes where your L2 button is and around that part is what makes your r2 works so if it's messing up chances are that you have to open you controller and put it back and place
Pro tip for anyone who’s doing this, if you have a broken or spare parts controller, the L side triggers rarely see this damage since they’re rarely used, so you might get more mileage using a recycled L side rubber piece than adding epoxy
@@Ben-we7ld I just fixed this issue with my controller. You’re going to want to take your controller apart & clean the contact points. Its a clear film behind the buttons. Get a cotton swab & dip it in isopropyl alcohol & clean the contact points. It’ll work like new once put back together. Be careful taking the controller apart, many small components. Also clean the rest of the controller with alcohol while you’re down there. Saves you future trips👍🏽
Yea still going strong, but it wears out a little bit. So I check out if the R2 and L2 still giving me 100% after pressing. But I'am still happy with the result afterall. 😃
Thanks a lot for this video. My R2 trigger was reading at 20% strength, and after opening it I saw that the original rubber had worn down a lot, so I applied silicone and left the controller over night. When I tested it the next morning, the pressure went up to 255, but the last 5% of the pressure gauge filled in slowly, and I couldn't get an instant 255 reading by pressing the trigger all the way, which is what I saw with the L2 trigger. I figured I just slightly underestimated how much silicone I needed, so instead of waiting another half a day, I reopened the controller and put a tiny dab of super glue instead. After it dried, I finally got an instant 255 reading when holding the trigger all the way.
nice ❤️, you can indeed add epoxy to the plastic part of the trigger to get that larger ... and in the mean time probably order some new membranes off of aliexpress - just watch out - there are like 40 variants of the DS4 controller out there

Super cheap alternative is to cut a thick elastic into a little square and glue it inside the housing of the r2 button. It works trust me. You don’t even have to glue it in either. I just set it inside and put the controller back together and it works just fine for me now. It’s been like this now for the last three months and o saved myself $70 or however much ps4 controllers are going for now.
I just cut a little piece of toothpick with some wire cutters to fit the space inside the rubber thingy and it worked very well, no need for silicone or epoxy, I'll be trying it and seeing how it holds. I chose a toothpick because it's soft enough that it shouldn't deform anything inside there. I'll report soon with an edit.

I watched the whole video. Okay, I'm having the opposite issue. So, instead of having ~80% of my R2 when I press it, I have 100% of my R2 WithOUT touching it. Do you think I need to replace the white rubber piece (as shown at 5:25)? Or do you think it's the membrane/film??
An update for anyone else interested. The membrane/film was fine. It was the white, silicone piece that was simply worn out. Apparently, that piece can differ in shape. Most of the ones you find online are NOT like the ones you'll find in the controller. I tried modifying the one I ordered to fit like the old one, but it didn't work - R2 would only register up to 80%. Ultimately, I took the silicone piece off of a spare controller and that fixed it.
