The focus is how happy they are in the team and will change depending on if you develop them or not. The starting focus is what it would be when you first sign them. If a driver has a low focus stat they are slower and won't go for moves or defend very hard. And a high focus driver would be more successful in overtakes and would defend better. Also high focus drivers will bring in more resource points whereas low focus will bring in a lot less sometimes even 0

@@Jazmento yes. Activities. And personnel upgrades. That's how the player boosts it but the ai can to. If your teammate has a good race then that will have higher focus if they dnf or have a poor race they will lose focus

I am playing F2 career mode and Mazepin is always last or around there but he wasn't hopeless in F2 last year. While Mick and Tsunoda are fighting for poles and wins while Mazepin is last, it doesn't make any sense. So I think there needs to be some change with these ratings because Mazepin was fighting last year in F2 for podiums and race wins.
yeah I think all the F2 driver stats and performance are a bit strange like the don't seem to make much sense to what they are like IRL.

I and a bunch of other people put this problem In on the codemasters forums where the devs look at everyone’s responses and act on them as I was thinking the exact same as this.
Mazepin took 6 podiums and 2 (technically 3) wins last season to finish 5th in the championship yet he’s consistently at the back at the field in the game.
Ilott, Shwartzman, Schumacher and Tsunoda all need to have the same rating overall if I’m honest which should be about 70 and their 4 cards to be the strongest in the field overall. I’d say in total Ilott needs to have the strongest card in the field

@@4zap7 I meant for F2 not for F1. His F1 performances in the game are absolutely sport on and in the real season I think there’s only 1 or 2 rounds where he’s actually qualified within 5 tenths of mick. My issue is that because Mick, Yuki and Nikita are in F1 after the 2020 season, the driver cards are done the same regardless of category so Mick and Yuki just walk across the whole grid in F2 at the start of career mode with the same ratings as they have in F1. Like the original comment says, Mazepin was actually a title contender at one point in the F2 season so I wish they’d have 2 separate driver card systems for F1 and F2 depending on if the driver is in both categories
I had Schwartzman as my first teammate in MyTeam and he was actually very good. Towards the end of the first season he was comfortably outqualifying the likes of Williams, Haas and Alfa Romeo

I switched to Schwartzman halfway through the first season, he's somehow beaten me and gotten just shy of the podium in his first two races so I'm definitely keeping him for season 2 :P

this is probably a bit late but the best choice of any driver is definitely either alonso kimi or vettel. They all have such high experience rating that the amount of r&d they bring in makes development so much easier, which is crucial at the start of my team

My assumption is that Focus affects all the other stats. The lower the focus the lower the other stats actually are, although it doesn't show it. And with a higher focus, the states are actually higher, which again isn't shown.

The focus stat is basically their motivation the higher the focus stat the more likely they are to perform above their stats, the lower the worse they might be, its basically their Form if you equate it to fifa

As somebody who used lundgaard I have to say he deserves that 2nd he is really good at diving down and overtaking and he is so consistent which is why I’ve had him for 5 seasons now with his rating now being 92
Edit: after completing all 10 seasons lundgaard won 4 championships
The others were 4 of mine and 1 for verstappen 1 for leclerc
Lungaard got to the max rating and performed really well every season
In my last season he managed to win 21 out of 23 races the other two going to me, that’s how good he became
He is by fair one of the best long term teammates you could get

I had Shwartzman at the first half and he was very good he scored 2 points and beating really often the Williams, the Haas and sometimes a Alpha Tauri or a Alfa Romeo or my Self. 👍 And he did not Crash or damage his car.

If anyone doesn't know focus is essentially how well your driver can be consistent with their stats
So say if lewis Hamilton has a really bad focus stat, he might have a pace around a mid field driver (this effects all of the other stats as well so keep focus up when you can)
Focus also depends on how well your driver does compared to your car and department events. (I might be wrong for the first way but that's the best I can remember) happy racing

This is very in depth but from how Lungaard is shown in this compared to how he drove for me is quite big meaning that I think focus really affects the effort the drivers want to pit in therefore making them worst
Yeah the focus stat seems to be quite powerful!!
Focus means the drivers morale so if they dnf a race their focus will go down if they win the race it’ll go up.
I started with a random rookie half way into season 1 I bought out Alonso from alpine and he catapulted my team on r n d then I switched him out for roseberg, cause he wasn't constant in the top 5, end of season 2 im right with redbulk and mercs

For my first season in my team I have Jack Aitken
I am definitely considering Ilot if he doesn’t replace Kimi at Alfa Romeo, so should I let him go to Alfa possibly or get him to replace Aitken
If Kimi retires in your my team there is no guarantee that it will be Ilott that replaces him, it could be anyone really!! So if you want Ilott you should just go for him!! 👍👍
@@itsmeJUMBO I think the only way to make sure Ilott would go to Alfa Romeo would be that if you already had him signed for the start of my team and if Kimi then retires at the end of the season, getting rid of Ilott from your team would make Alfa sign Callum. Well at least that’s how it worked in 2020 so I assume the same logic would apply to 2021

Could you look at the driver retirements/transfers? They seem quite unrealistic from what I've seen so far and as they can't be turned off was hoping to find the best way to minimise craziness
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to stop the transfers, but if you can limit the amount that you change your teammate (ideally pick one and keep them for all the seasons) that can help as it doesn't start the driver transfer merry-go-round!! Other than that there isn't much you can do!!

That's That's shame I originally signed ticktum, when his contract ran out I tried to get schwatzman but he said no, then I got Calum illot, not I figured out that I should get ticktum back.
Yeah Ticktum is good on this game, but to be honest there isn't that much between the rookies and they are all so much worse than f1 drivers which is a shame 🤷♂️🤷♂️

I mean this video is more of a guide and is what I found from doing some testing. And for the testing I had the worst car possible and didn't improve anything at all or do any activities between races. So if you did any of those things the results would be different and that's before doing the race in which anything can happen too. 👍👍

You can improve your teammates stats by improving the Personnel Facilities and you can also get temporary boosts for your teammate by doing certain activities during the breaks between races. They will also gradually improve their over time 👍👍

So for My Team they used the F2 2020 drivers as rookies, but he an the other F2 2021 season driver have been added to the game recently but they still can't be used in my team unfortunately 😥😥
