    Dear Patti,
I'm a little late with this, but I have NEVER heard anyone sing "Stardust" better than you did at the Remembrance Event for Gregory - and that includes Ella, Frank, and MelTormé. I never knew that a Heart could sing until I heard you do it.
St. Gregory Corso, pray for us.

It's hard to believe, but Patti Smith may be one of the last persons alive to have known Allen and Bill and Gregory.

    Gregory Corso was a pervert.
When my family lived Provincetown, and had Beverly Mailer as a neighbor, I was a nine year old kid. I got paid to take care of the yellow Labrador dog they had. Well, Corso found the house key and let himself in, and waited for me in there.
He trapped me in that house and if it wasn’t for my big brother coming to see why I was taking so long, I shudder to think what would have happened. I had terrible things occur as it was. Things that make me nauseated to recall.
Days later I spotted Corso with some woman near the Portuguese bakery on Commercial street, hopped off my bike, and tore into him, verbally. He laughed it off but whoever he was with didn’t like it. She left.
Corso deserves to rot for being a perpetrative creep!

Oh yes, that's warm consolation to a person he molested.
I'd love to have that bastard standing in front of me now. I'd beat his head in.

I'd find it interesting to hear what Patti Smith would say about these stories. I love the works of Ginsberg, Corso and Burroughs as well but she always speaks of them with such reverence. Never heard her acknowledge that each of them were real creeps in their own way.
