AWESOME, thank you. That #7 Gulf livery is the best I've seen in a l-o-n-g time. Note all the cars that derivatives of #17 [THE 'rock' man!!!]. The best Touring V8 sound has to be the Dick/Bowe #17 EB Falcon @ the Mount'n. We were on Mount'n Str when it first rolled out of the pits. It went past slowly & we marshals looked at each other & knew only a curse from Lady Luck would stop it. Best outright V8 sound is a genuine 60's Ford GT40 with that bunch of cross-over snakes!!! Interesting those 'Must prangs' were fastback's. Here in Oz, the Group 'C' regs only allowed 'notchbacks'. Best Tourer meeting went to was '67 Lakeside ATCC, with most V8s assembled in that era. Stangs/Camaros/Nova etc incl Kiwis Rod Coppins & Paul Fahey.
That is true, I have pointed it out before only to be told to go away and mind my own business. So yeah, I do lots of research and follow the right people on fb and social media to know what events are coming up next
@racecars.universe that's sad to hear. I'm definitely gonna have to keep my eye on it from now on. Haven't seen anything like this since the final V8supercars at Pukekohe. Thanks for taking the time to film and upload.
@@colinl9018 he spun out at turn 1 and DNF'd, if you look at 10:40 mark you can see some smoke, perhaps a late braking which can be a real problem heading into that turn since it's a long dipper
Some badass cars there, that white shelby is so nice and clean.
I have waited pretty much 2 years to feature this car, so happy it finally happened!
that Gulf Camaro pretty much redefines the concept of beauty pageant racecar
Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that gearbox cops a flogging.

@@ancient1946 man you've got some cool stories to tell I'm sure. What's the best career highlight as a race marshal?
I wanna go see this. Its hard to know what's on. When and where. Motorsport in New Zealand needs way more promotion.

Great video, thanks heaps
Most welcome!
Sounds great. Is that normal for these cars to be downshifting so late mid corner?
I don't think so. One possible reason is that Mustang driver can't heel and toe.
@@logandevoy8119 and sometimes they don't even downshift at all. Like "oh, nevermind, I have a lot of torque anyway, let's throw in the same gear" 😅
What happened to the Falcon?

My question too. Thanks!
So how big are these engines? Anyone know?
This one in particular is a 357ci packing 618hp/466Nm at 7100 rpm
@@racecars.universe Ok. Cool. Bloody quick thing eh. Cheers mate. 👍🥃🇦🇺
Was that a jump start by any chance...?
what you mean, which part of the video?
@@racecars.universe At the very start, was that a jump start, looked very close...? Obviously not, otherwise you'd have heard about it... :):)
@ I meant first over the line at the rolling start, was it you or the Falcon... It looked very close.
@@racecars.universe @5:00
@4:59
was it a race or just a tour around Hampton Downs I thought rather boring
To say this was boring, what do you race normally, rocket ships?
