    My nephew once filled up his hydroflask with water and put it in the fridge so the water would be cold the next day for a hike or something. Well, the water was not cold. He goes duh, and it dawned on him. Of course it didn't get cold, because the flask was insulated. 🤣

    Great video. I own the 24oz widemouth trail series and was looking into possibly buying the 40oz version. Hard sell considering the 24oz can fit in almost any cupholder even with the rubber boot.

      Very good point! 24oz is plenty as long as you're close to fountains, and your friends bring their own 😅

    I would suspect that preparing the Trail Hydroflask - adding ice cubes first and closing. Then sitting for maybe an hour to 2 to cool the interior. Then adding water will allow it to remain cold longer.

    What are the brand of backpacks you used in the video?

      Black one is the old version of the North Face Recon and the grey one is an Eddie Bauer stowaway backpack.

    I absolutely love the trail series but the 40oz is ridiculously tall 😂 I tend to stick with my regular 40oz if I need that much.

    3:54 "Sticker".
    I don't follow, what does that have to do with anything?

      @@TotalOutdoorsBC Oh for goodness' sake, I get it now. You little freak 🤣
      I'm only recently getting serious about hiking and am beginning to notice other people's unrestrained artistic sticker expressions via their Nalgene bottles.
      I appreciate you using the Socratic method to get me thinkin.

    What accessories work with this bottle ??

    • @TotalOutdoorsBC
      @TotalOutdoorsBC  Рік тому

      I believe that all lids work with it, but the straw might not reach to the bottom if it's the sipper lid. Unfortunately the rubber protectors don't fit it!

    Why are you comparing this to a non-insulated Nalgene bottle

    • @TotalOutdoorsBC
      @TotalOutdoorsBC  Рік тому +7

      I only compared the Nalgene's weight and I wasn't expecting it to be in the range of either Hydro Flask. I compared it because they are so popular and it's probably the most common bottle to take hiking/outdoors, etc.

      Not to mention it is called "trail" series. So im assuming they are advertising toward hiking crowd.

  • @Blezonu
    @Blezonu 6 місяців тому

    The Nalgene is plastic, so won't keep water cold and will be lighter, not sure of the point of the comparison.

    • @TotalOutdoorsBC
      @TotalOutdoorsBC  6 місяців тому

      The point is to see how the weight compares to a non insulated water bottle and if it’s worth it
