Thank you so much for posting this. You explain things in a way that is very easy to understand, you speak slowly enough that I can follow along and only have to pause every once in a while --since I was working with more cast ons. This is a really beautiful pattern, and it will be the first lace pattern that I'm actually able to start and finish without wanting to rip my hair out. hahaha Thanks again for posting this tutorial. Much appreciate.
Took me a few times to rewatch, had to pause the video a few times to knit along, but now I'm just going. Making a nice scarf with this stitch, 16 reps each row
beautiful pattern...i have two requests: can you do a video demo on how one would attach a lacy overlay to hat (an open-stitch such as the one demonstrated in this video over a solid knit/contrast color hat) and an attached i-cord...thank you,
I would like to make a triangle scarf but I am confused about keeping the pattern while increasing the sides to make it into a triangle. Thanks for posting this video. You make it look very easy.
Please don't think I'm rude but where did you learn how to knit? It is different to how I and others I know. You hold your yarn like you are crocheting. The funny thing is I could knit before I could crochet and when I taught myself to crochet, I held the yarn like I was knitting (I knew no different). I am just curious! Love this pattern and your video is excellent. Oh yeah, another thing, I learned from you, putting my yarn around the needle for my YO. My way was awkward and opposite to you, but it still came out the same. Maybe different countries do it different. I was born and raised in England and my mother taught me to knit. I would love to hear from you.
I knit continental style (also known as German knitting, European knitting, or left-hand knitting), which I learned from a book. Many people knit this way, you can learn more about it here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_knitting
Couldn't you start with a couple more stitches so you could do your double YOs on the edges (instead of a single YO) and get the same size holes on the sides as you have in the body?
There really isn't a noticeable difference in size between the single and double yo. If you want the single yo in row 3 to be a smidge bigger you don't need to add any extra stitches, just make it a double. On the next row you would only purl into it instead of purl into the first one and knit into the second one like the other double yo, otherwise you are adding an extra stitch you would need to add a decrease for to keep the correct stitch count.
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me understand a pattern by MMario called Wyrm in Ravelry. It's a filet knitting pattern with dragons and a fountain in the center. So cool.
I am not familiar with this pattern. I have ever only tried filet knitting once, with less than desirable results :-) Maybe you can send a message to MMario on Ravelry with your questions.

There are a number of ways you can make a triangle shawl - top down, bottom up, side ways. Either method you choose, you will work the stitch pattern until you have enough increases to work one (or more) repeats of the stitch pattern. Check the free shawl cheat sheet on laylock.org. It gives instructions for garter stitch shawls, but you can easily substitute any stitch pattern for the garter stitch.

I'm finally taking the leap to learn more stitch patterns. Thank you for the concise videos!

how many stitches did you use?
+jackapoo lover Hi there, that info is given right at the beginning of the video - both the required stitch count and how many used for the sample.
How would I do this as a triangle shawl?

So how many sts. Should I start with if I want todo this as a triangle shawl starting from the bottom up?
Helen Krane That's up to you. Often 1-3 sts are used to start. www.sapphiresnpurls.com/2012/09/knit-triangle-shawl-bottom-up.html
