Great video Vas! I think I watched the same ISE video when I did mine! I think it actually helped to grip the bolt snaps (above water) with dry gloves when diving in freezing conditions (-8°c air, 4°c water).
I have seen this done before but have not tried it yet. You never had an issue with line moving and causing complications opening the bolt snap? I have actually used heat shrink tubing in stead. Cut it to size open the bolt snap and slip it around and over gate. Then shrink it down.
Heat shrink sounds great! You see in the video I show not to cover the slots the gate slides in and to also make sure the knots are on the opposite side of the gate - so far never had an issue and using that flat line I have the turns are very low profile.
I’ve had good success and have found it MUCH easier to do when placing one end of the double-ender in a vise mounted on a bench.
