In reply to Soothsayer's enquiry. I swapped out my hoses on my Atomic T2x regs for braided (miflex) versions. It was a few years ago but Apeks made them for me to custom lengths and with the built in swivel at the second stage end as per the original Atomic rubber versions.
yo mark, xdeep's nx project bcd has the option for single cylinder with straps and shit and doubles, real dou les with manifold and stuff the issue is that the wing is too big to single and it tens to taco around the cylinder.
Yes AP Tekwing. I change from single to twinsett regularly. Just change the routing of the straps, 2 minute job.For 2 single use the plastic separators available from AP.
Hello! I second your nomination of the VX1. I seriously love that mask! I find it doesn’t fog, doesn’t leak, doesn’t scratch. I have it in two colors, and I frequently advise my buddies to borrow it and try it, bc it rocks.
When would be an appropriate time to go for the divemaster certification? I've done my rescue diver past July, have 82 dives, but am not sure if that's enough experience. Thank you in advance. #askmark
As far as the question, 'when should I go for advanced' - I agree with you to get buoyancy (and trim) down pat ASAP- but that can be done in a pool. I found that the more you learn, the safer a diver you become because you are more aware of the ways you can die scuba diving. So the boy scount motto 'be prepared' applies- the more you learn the safer diver you can become.
Hi #askmark! Got a question on what best to do with a drysuit after a boat dive! On the way back from dives from a boat, I see a lot of divers drying their drysuit on the deck of the boat in the sun. I myself rather pack my drysuit in it's bag while it's still wet so that it stays wet/damp till I get home and can rinse the suit, and the bag it was stored in, with fresh water. What are your thoughts?
Is there a company that has a wider backplate and harness more geared for lager men? I bought an xdeep Zen backplate for a single cylinder, but had to return it because of discomfort. The harness would be so up my arm pits when wearing a dry suit which made the d rings hard to reach, ( even if i moved them up or down). Any info would be appreciated. I currently like the seahawk for rec diving but I'm looking for a backplate bcd for starting doubles training this summer.
hi Mark, great video thanks. maybe a subject for a future session (if not already answered) on silicone neck or wrist seals on a drysuit, do you do specific regular maintenance ? what if the suit is not to be used for 4-6 months period? thanks! #askmark
#askmark what do you think to the Hollis dx300x drysuit I've looked at one today and am impressed by the quality for price point £1500 would you recommend something different that built the same or better for around same price
Personally I think you want 25-30 dives under your belt before going for your advanced certification. And make sure your comfortable in the water, understand your equipment and have your problem solving skills down pat.
#askmark Hey Mark, I'm looking at thermal vests for use under my dry suit... the idea being to generate a little (or a lot) warmth during long dives and deco stops. However they are flippin' expensive and it's only something I want to buy once! The 'Yellow Grade 2' looks pretty sweet and offers up the ability to use it during winter sports and walking the dog as it's pretty compact. However, at £900 it needs to be reliable, well supported, safe and AWESEOME. What are my options oh wise one! Adam.
#askmark Great video, as ever! A question about long hose (primary donate) configuration. I am considering switching from my traditional bright yellow octopus setup to a long hose/primary donate setup (I switched from jacket BCD to backplate/wing recently). Switching out the hoses is obvious. But should I get a second 'primary' 2nd stage regulator as my back-up, or can I continue using the yellow one that I have (Aqualung Legend). Would the fact that it's yellow confuse my buddy in an out-of-air situation? Would he grab the yellow one instead of the one in my mouth? I imagine that even though he knows my configuration, grabbing the 'yellow thing' seems like a reflex. Thoughts? Also, would 150 cm be long enough? I don't use a canister light (so nothing to hold the hose down at the hip, really) and I will not be doing cave or penetration wreck dives any time soon - no single file air sharing necessary I would say.
If you attach a dive knife to your waistband you can tuck it under the knife (well the sheath for it), I think Mark shows it in his video where he shows him in all his gear
AP Diving Tekwing can be configured for singles or twins.

Hey that's awesome, thank you for the response

does the UV really doesnt scratch? I'm contemplating between the clear and the UV
@@zazaX8 It doesn’t do anything for you underwater, so if you are in a sunny environment when you’re on the surface, I would recommend it.
With some extra parts the Dive Rite Transpac can be adapted from a single cylinder to double cylinders. You'll also need to use a separate wing.
Yep, Transpac w/Rec wing. Love it
Apeks black ice bcd can do both single & doubles I often use twin 7 on mine

XDeep double enders are no good for a spool because the squared off edge doesn’t fit through the spool hole so sticks out when stowed in a pocket.
