Wasn't an alcoholic just a binge drinking on a Friday Saturday or Sunday on holiday or on occasions course he won't lose control he was functioning as well doing his job uploading content editing just had a bit of a self inflicted accident to bring him to his senses
I'm far from a connoisseur (even had to look up how to spell that) but I, for one, cannot tell the 0% from the real thing other than the fact I don't fall over after 4 pints! Happy New Year to you and yours. 👍🤪
5 months 6 days today Christmas was tough one thing that puts me off drinking is dealing with a hangover and feeling terrible the next day so much better to wake up sober and with full faculties.
@Ryan-so3un Ryan bro we fall only to rise again.... pick yourself up dust yourself off and come again.....its the best we can do sometimes.... its never over till its over bro 💙💙💙
A elderly lady in the shop told me that stuff was given as a gift by relatives to people in the hospital, what do you mean exactly? Did they give the entire tin of Mack stout to the baby lol
Good for you gareth. It took me till i was 50 to be able to control it. I still drink quite a lot but i have leant my cut off point now. I find drinking water on an evening stops me wanting one . Good luck to you mate.
Hi, i had a non alcoholic lager quite a few years ago and it was awful!! Put me off non alcohol for good. However after watching this, i decided to try the 0% Guinness as i do like the regular pint. I would now like to thank you as the zero can is a beautiful smooth drink and now i am seriously thinking about switching and cutting down my alcohol content. Thanks to you🙂👍
Happy New Year to you and your family .All the best for 2025 ,Waking up with no hangover is a great feeling. My nan back in the 70s used to like a bottle of Black velvet stout . Was very smooth . Keep well mate
I have got a 4-pack of this chilling in my fridge now. I am sort of trying a dry January regime, with the intention of going beyond January, I am still using up stock from last year but stopping, cold turkey, isn't recommend. Not bought drinks containing above the 0.05% this year, I know it's early days but we all have to start somewhere. Btw, I turned down all social invites for New Year's Eve, I was in bed by 8:30pm, it made me smile when you mentioned about waking up sober this New Year's Day, absolutely great.
I am sooooo proud of you Gareth, especially this time of the year which you have sailed through it, well done you!!! I always knew you had the will power just like your mum!!!! Absolutely fantastic review again, keep up the good work sonshine 🙏❤️😘 xx
I have had to cut out virtually all alcohol intake. Basically because of stomach problems. But now this is all I drink. You look good. Healthier. Best of Health.
The way things are going with the availability of terrific European Imperial,Stouts with crazy ABVs , 8-12% , original Guinness already tastes alcohol free , but it’s still nice ,
I saw Mackeson at Tesco in Blackpool last June. I remember it being very sweet. I don’t drink anymore either. I stopped drinking 37 years ago when i moved to Norway.
It is really good. It looks and tastes like the original one. I drink it , but you need to put the glass over the top of the glass then turn the can upside down to have a better pour.
superb mate, doing better than i can, even trying to stop smoking but still trying, hard work giving up things, i think do what you want in moderation,,,, any way happy new year to you all.
Hello Gareth, happy 2025 to you and your family. Well, being half Irish (mums side) Married a lovely Dublin girl. Proud of of our son. I'm the only non Guinness drinker in the combined families 😱☘️🍀🇬🇧. Only use the black stuff in cooking. Makes the best beef and stout pie or stew. Brilliant. And as been said : " have one on me mate 🍺" Allan&Family
I still don't get it when you go to a supermarket to buy any 0% alcohol drink, that you have to get it authorised by a shop assistant, I don't get it🤷🤷🤷
so proud of you , im not quite at the point for non alcohol quite yet , but im sure in the future I will, at least its a better taste than kaliber now that was nasty
Happy New Year, Gareth . I now drink mostly alcohol free beers and ciders. I must admit I do prefer the taste of the none alcohol Guinness to the 'real' stuff . My wife and I really enjoy both your channels. You even persuaded us to purchase the Sage oven and love it . Hope to see much more of your brilliant content on both channels in 2025. Ignore the doomsayers, you are doing really well and may we both say how much better and happier you are looking since you stopped drinking . All the best to you and your family.
Yes the Guinness 0.0 is very good I also like Kopparburg Pear 0.0 its a nice and refreshing summer drink. My late gran used to drink a bottle Mackison daily never more just the one lived well into her late 90s.🤣
We say this in the uk on tap, was hesitant but thought let's give it a go, it was 99% the same as normal one, it lacked one thing I could not put my finger on but very happy as I hate drinking alcohol during the day but love going to pubs (well aussie pubs are hopeless compared to the UK ones)
@@julieg-b8910 0.5% is effectively alcohol free (and considered as such in the EU) - orange juice, ripe bananas and some bread (brioche) has similar ABV. You can’t get drunk on it as the body gets rid of the alcohol quicker than you can drink it. I gave up drinking 12 years ago and have only recently started drinking AF beers due to the remarkable quality now available. Guinness Zero, Erdinger, Ghost Ship, Lucky Saint are all wonderful…
I've tried it myself and in the words of the great BFG.. it was 'Spot On'..😂 A great review to start the new year Gaz... Looking forward to more... 👍👍🏴
Happy New Year Gareth, I don't drink Guinness but I believe there's a shortage of Guinness 00 in Ireland at the moment. A new extension to the Guinness Brewery has been announced to make Guinness 00 and several hundred jobs will be created. Its been reported that the number of people drinking Alcohol in is starting to fall, I find this hard to believe although the new Irish immigrants don't drink as part of their Religion, so maybe that is the reason.
You look great after your first alcohol free New Year! Tom Holland famously gave up alcohol and has collaborated to create a new brand called Bero. It’s now available in the UK, so I’m going to purchase some to try. Second New Year alcohol free for me 😊
Back in the 50s, hospitals gave Mackesons to new mothers every single day! It was reckoned to be a tonic to help feeding babies, but according to my old Mum, it didn’t go down badly with the Mums, too. At that time you stayed in for 14 days, so the orders must have been huge. Tek care, lad and a great 2025
Stay in the 0% zone mate…it’s so worth it. I know first hand how hard it can be but I’m alcohol free for 3 years now and a similar age to you. The Guinness is really nice and tastes a bit like Boddingtons to me. Gordon’s Gin 0% is really nice too if you like tonic with it 👍
Interesting review Gaz. Never been a lover of Guinness and always preferred a Mackeson. Don't often see it these days sadly. If i see the zero Guinness I might give it a go. Thanks ❤
Ive put a comment up but it seems to have disappeared. Basically well done getting over a milestone, first big celebration dry. Don't listen to all the negative nellys, you take iit one day at a time, Happy New Year.❤
Yep they still do Mackeson, I usually buy a 4 pack every xmas in honour of my late father, as he would always have some for xmas, admittedly I haven't this year by chance, but I do have plenty of Guinness in the fridge
Nice one Gareth. Question: Can you consume this in Alcohol Free Zones??? I miss my Guinness since going gluten free. I wish this was made gluten free. Cheers mate.
Evening Gareth on alcohol Free Guinness. Happy New Year to you. So pleased you enjoy it. I myself do not go mad on Guinness prefer a Perroni every time. Have you tried the 0% Perroni? I do love my favourite Frexinet sparkling wine and the 0% one is as good as the original I would say. Maybe try it? Enjoyed the vlog as usual Thank you Gareth. sue
Certainly one of the best no alcohol options, but for me it just felt thin. No real body like a full-on Guinness. But fair play to them, it’s a tremendous effort.
Guiness zero lacks the bitterness of the hops compared to real Guiness. It’s going to have sugar in it which isn’t good for diabetics. But good if you want to wean yourself of alcohol and go dry for January.
The 0% Guinness is pretty spot on compared to the real thing. We did the Guinness factory tour in Dublin. Came back to the UK to find that Guinness is so much cheaper many miles away in England than it was buying a pint in the shadow of the Dublin factory. I did prefer Murphys though when in Temple Bar....
I have a can of this in the fridge that I'm going to review, just not got round to trying it. I've had the real thing in Ireland too, it was like you had had a meal drinking it
Great to see you looking so well and congrats on the sober Christmas! I've seen so many people talking about their sober journey, and literally everyone has said it was the best thing they ever did. It's the thing, it's a super power and I think sober is going to explode this year 😀 I remember the feeling I had when I got free from it last time, and there's just nothing like it, so I'm doing dry January and hoping that will get me there again 🙏
I tried some once, as I always enjoyed a Guinness. I just couldn't drink it. One mouthful was enough. I might give it another try. You never know, perhaps they have improved the taste, or I was having an off day. 😀
Happy New Year lad.
Well done👍
The Guinness 00 is lovely.
Happy new year!
Guinness 0.0 is a great invention 👍😁 Happy New Year 🍻🍺🎈

Where a place above you in the league

Christmas was tough

so much better to wake up sober and with full faculties.
You have to always remember that. Well done!
Seriously well done sir. I love Guinness zero. I enjoy a couple of pints of the stuff at the weekend and no hangover. Sorted!
Ive ruined my life mate. Completely broken but still finding it hard to give up. All the same, I appreciate this type of video from you. I'm a fan.
How old are you
@Ryan-so3un Ryan bro we fall only to rise again.... pick yourself up dust yourself off and come again.....its the best we can do sometimes.... its never over till its over bro 💙💙💙
When I was a kid 1950s, they used to put a bottle Teat on a bottle of Mack Stout, to give a baby Iron, and a sleep.
A elderly lady in the shop told me that stuff was given as a gift by relatives to people in the hospital, what do you mean exactly? Did they give the entire tin of Mack stout to the baby lol
Hi Gareth love your content and goodluck in remaining sober and congratulations on what you’ve achieved already
Good for you gareth. It took me till i was 50 to be able to control it. I still drink quite a lot but i have leant my cut off point now. I find drinking water on an evening stops me wanting one . Good luck to you mate.
Keep it up
Bernard Miles advert for Mackesons "Looks good, tastes good, and by golly it does you good."

You done so well Gareth 👏 ❤
Myself I don't drink alcohol at all never been interested in it but fairplay to you Gareth 😊
Dare I say, I like the Guinness 00 more than the regular.

I really enjoy this one. Colder the better & tastes great.

Haven't had a drink in about 10 years. Never thought of having non alcohol beers, they were kind of rare at the time.
Nearly all our local pubs stock Guinness zero ,great if your driving, to tell you the truth, it's as good as proper Guinness and it's a lot cheaper.
I still don't get it when you go to a supermarket to buy any 0% alcohol drink, that you have to get it authorised by a shop assistant, I don't get it🤷🤷🤷
Happy New Year, so happy that you are doing well keep it up👍🥳😋
Happy new year!!
For some years, Mackeson has been a 'ghost brand' in the UK; still produced and sold but without advertising or promotion.
Cheers pal 👍
Sounds worth a try Gareth. All the best to you and yours for 2025 - and keep the 0% reviews coming ! 😁
Good stuff 👍 Happy and Healthy New Year Gareth
Happy New year
Happy new year to you and your lovely family keep up the good work 🙏
Happy new year
First! Loving the alcohol free reviews Gaz

Best Zero on the market
Totally agree 👍
Very true.
I agree 👍
so proud of you , im not quite at the point for non alcohol quite yet , but im sure in the future I will, at least its a better taste than kaliber now that was nasty

Review the thatchers zero percent cider please
Do like it …but you didn’t ask me 😂 …hopefully Gareth will do a review . `It’s my go to zero percentage drink of choice . !!
I'll stick with my cup of tea then. Thanks for another entertaining video 💜💜
Cheers Barbie
I love this, Cider was my drink, I wasn't a Guinness drinker. But this is fantastic 🎉
The problem for me was I liked both cider and Guinness but in the same glass, the poor man’s black velvet. He he😂
@rkeirle1 hardcore!!!! 😂😂😂
Yes the Guinness 0.0 is very good I also like Kopparburg Pear 0.0 its a nice and refreshing summer drink. My late gran used to drink a bottle Mackison daily never more just the one lived well into her late 90s.🤣

Oh my god gaz, can't believe you went all out partied hard on new year and had one can of the devils brew. Lol only messing mate happy new year buddy
It's been my weapon of choice for a while . Nicely done mate.
Great to see you doing so well.
Thank you!

Drinking the real stuff watching this, I feel like we are twins, love ya Gaz, happy new year everyone
Happy New year
You could try Ghost Ship Pale Ale Low alcohol 0.5%. Might even go nice with your Guinness black and tan.
Is it a good idea to have any alcohol if he admits to having an issue with it? Kind of like tempting the devil if you ask me.

If you like Guinness then I'd highly recommend getting the Nitrosurge device and do the pin trick on the can. Super creamy 👍
Thanks for the tip!
watching this, making me want a few pints, lol . heard good things about Guinness 00s. must pick up a few and give them ago .

ie Can't get it in Thailand
Yep they still do Mackeson, I usually buy a 4 pack every xmas in honour of my late father, as he would always have some for xmas, admittedly I haven't this year by chance, but I do have plenty of Guinness in the fridge
These no alcohol drinks definitely serve a purpose. You look healthier since you stopped.
Thanks
Nice one Gareth.

I don't know John, I don't drink outside. Only in Garden in Summer.
Irish hope you enjoyed the drink was your enjoyment of it dublin?!
Maynooth think it's spelt correctly 🤔
Best wishes from Ireland . Great reviews always enjoy . Cheers 🎉😅😊
Same to you!
About bleeding time gaz! Told you about this a year ago, it's just as good as the real stuff and worth 5 bucks, enjoy! 😋
Happy new year ! I think you need a few paintings on your wall.

Well done Gareth. Happy new year 2025 ❤
Happy new year!
Well done Gaz, your first dry Christmas and new year. Glad you had a great festive break.
Why is it for over 18 .?
Tried it ,, can’t tell from the alcohol one apart from you don’t get a wobble on 👌
I love them, I actually drinking one now. Great
I will have to get some to try. I do enjoy a Guiness!

Talking of Mackeson Stout, I use to love cans of Cream Label 👍😁
Really nice drink ...keep up the good work
Nice if your a designated driver and you feel included🇨🇮🍻gaz
Well done you lots of love to you and your family❤❤❤❤
All the best Gareth, Cheers have another enjoy
I have drank Guinness for many years and Guinness 00 to me tastes the same.
I have a can of this in the fridge that I'm going to review, just not got round to trying it. I've had the real thing in Ireland too, it was like you had had a meal drinking it
I was driving on Christmas Day and had a couple of these 😊
They do still do Mackinsons. I see them in Sainsbury’s
Happy New Year to you and your family, we have faith in you to continue your sober journey ❤
Happy new year!!
I'd be interested in the calorie differences between the real stuff and the zero stuff
Good point
Thinks it 70 calories for 330ml and 91 for a pint. My drink of choice, Strongbow was a mighty 210 calories a pint 😮😮
Great to see you looking so well and congrats on the sober Christmas! I've seen so many people talking about their sober journey, and literally everyone has said it was the best thing they ever did. Basically if you feel the itch go for a 0 alcohol drink..Happy days
Put it though the surge gadget makes it so much better
I tried some once, as I always enjoyed a Guinness. I just couldn't drink it. One mouthful was enough. I might give it another try. You never know, perhaps they have improved the taste, or I was having an off day. 😀
So pleased you’ve be a good boy! Keep it up, keep focused. 🇬🇧
Too sweet for me, They would be better if they didn’t add sugar to it.
You're the first person to ever read the ingredients on a Guinness 😂 Looks good. Happy NY
Happy new year!
Bet that's nice I like a Guinness not bothered over alcohol
It is good 👍 well done 👏
Ah I was wondering when you would try some alcohol free beers, there are some good one's out there though I've only sampled the odd one or two.
this was the first 0.0% that i really liked.
