Thank you for this! I love these types of videos and I believe less is more too! I hope you can continue to share where and what your beautiful kids play with from time to time because I really enjoy that type of content especially with having kids of my own!
Such great gifts!!! My kids gets gifts from grandparents and a cousin so we only buy one big gift for each and 1 stocking stuffer. With 4 kids it can get pretty overwhelming!! Much love to you 💖
I have a Christmas related question: do you do advent calendars for your kids? I’m not sure if that’s such a thing in the US but in Germany it sure is. As a minimalist myself, I’m always trying to make sure not to clutter up our space, so little intentional gift ideas to stick into a selfmade advent calendar would be an awesome inspiration for me 🥰 And a new video about this years’ Christmas gifts + declutter would be great, too. I really love your videos btw 🤍
We do an advent calendar! Most of the gifts we do are experiences or consumables. Like bake Christmas cookies today, or pick a tree, go see Christmas lights with hot chocolate, etc.
Thanks for sharing! My boys are 1 and 3 and I feel like I'm constantly contemplating our toy situation so it's nice to see what other parents of young children are doing. Because of this I have some questions, if you get the time! Do you let Mallory help declutter toys? Do you ever do any type of toy or book rotation? Have you ever given gifts that the kids just aren't that into? If so, how and when do you decide to pass them along? And do you have a toy budget? Thanks again, I look forward to your videos each week!
My mom did not have much growing up so she got oranges for Christmas and she now loves the idea of putting them in stockings. I think it's a great idea :)
A man who was at work used to give everyone a tangerine instead of a Christmas card. He left them on desks. Someone else decided to do apples instead of cards. Then someone did small bunches of grapes. Bananas. It ended up everyone got to take home a lovely little fruit basket. I thought that was excellent! So much more appealing than a card. Less waste and treats for people who were short of money.😊
I love all the intention you put behind each gift! This is my the first Christmas my daughter is able to tell us what she wants and has a lot of interest in particular toys. I finished my shopping a few weeks ago and we ended up making her a dollhouse. I’m so excited to see how she reacts to it all on Christmas morning 😊
I love the Katie books! I used them to teach art history when I taught in a private art studio and in our homeschool co-op. The kids always loved them! Such great gifts. We tried to be intentional this year. My older daughter would circle all these things in the annual toy catalogs and then never play with them. This year we did more music, books and outdoor stuff.
I love watching your videos! Can you make a house tour video? I’d love to see how you are living in a (I’m assuming) bigger space. Also maybe talk about how and why you decided to move to Maui. I’d also love to see an updated capsule wardrobe for your kids!
I love your UA-cam channel, I sit and wait each week for your video to go live! You are very inspiring to me so thank you for taking the time to create your content!
Great gifts - admittedly, I wasn't nearly as minimal when my children were younger, but they are at an age now where their lists are pretty minimal anyway (just more expensive) - one of their biggest gifts (which they don't ask for but we've started doing the last few years) is a summer family trip - this next year will be to Yellowstone - my son will get a fishing day and my daughter will get a horseback riding trip (both we will do all together). I look back on my childhood Christmases and remember only a few gifts that I received but the family memories carry so much love so I hope my children remember theirs the same way! My daughter is very into decluttering and being minimal so we've done our pre-Christmas declutter (and her birthday is 4 days before Christmas) - she is very aware of how clutter makes her feel overwhelmed and stressed.
Love all that thoughtful intention. What wonderful quality time that will be together for your family- one of my favorite childhood memories is roadtripping with my family to Yellowstone! SOOOOO good!
Hi Madi! I only started watching your channel yesterday! Yes, subscribed now :) Really enjoying it! Edpecially the videos where you smile more 🥰 You said Tennessee loves soft fabrics… there is something you might already know, that will help you be the best parent… he might be a kinesthetic learner. Look it up but go deep! Janine Driver talks about it and when you know what your kids are (and others around you), it makes life so much easier! Also… did you read „the family you always wanted”? God bless you and watch over your beautiful soul.
I love this! I try to be minimal but by no means a true minimalist. I do try to keep good quality toys and learning materials and I do a toy rotation so there isn’t much out at once. Kids really do play better with simplistic toys snd with less toys!! My rule is that wood or plastic, (although I prefer wood) it has to be a toy that doesn’t do the entertaining for the child but allows the child to use their imagination with it. I love that bag, my daughter is really good at hitting a ball, I may need to add that bat. My parents have that Everyone Poos book, it’s hilarious and great for potty training.
I love your videos so much! I don't have kids yet but things like this make me so excited! What kind of UA-camrs and videos do you recommend or like to watch yourself? I love your content and was just wondering if there's anyone similar I could also be watching?
Another very lovely & inspiring video, thank you for sharing! ✨ i was just thinking about doing a toy declutter this weekend because I feel it got a little bit out of hand and it will definitely be too much with everything i know my son is getting from relatives this year. So this was another good reminder to really tackle this! And i‘ve already got everything for him for this Christmas as i am pregnant with baby Nr. 2 who is due any day now, so unfortunately i couldn’t use any of the gift ideas now, but these still are amazing ideas for future gifts! I also loved the beginning of the Video where you talked about your philosophy behind the toys! 🧡✨ would love to hear more about it, like do you do toy rotation at all and how do your little ones react to that? My son (2,5) seems to slowly know what he owns and it‘s getting harder for me to store things away for a while. 🤔
Thank you Scarlett! Thank you for the feedback- I think the toy conversation is important too so I will definitely revisit it. Good luck with the declutter! It's always a bit of a job but so worth it. Enjoy Christmas with your fam too! Alllll the good birth vibes to ya love!
I just found your channel this weekend! I can’t get over how calming & welcoming your videos are - you’re doing an amazing job! Love these toy ideas! Also I need to do a toy declutter asap.
Wow this was the most beautiful lift of Christmas gifts for your kids ❤️🥰 it was so though out for them and I love it what you believe in about less is more ! I do this with my son but last year got caught up in so much from other family members when all came together we nowhere out the stuff and I was like in meltdown mode to myself 🥲😅😅😅😅 This year , my son just asked for a bigger bike or scooter and surprise and love that he asked for a surprises ! So this makes me think of meaningful gifts for a 7 year old and I have gone more creative like make own bath bombs / crystals or painting rocks as he loves loves loves crystals braclets ! This makes me feel less over whelmed and know that he get things he can use up in the water 💧 make things together and be creative ! Love love your current Xmas video and bad check your older one out and love this one too 😍 I follow Janet Lansbury too I love it 🥰
As many videos as I’ve watched of yours, idk why I’ve never heard your son’s name “Tennessee”. Could I ask how you decided on that name (I live in Tennessee) ❤️
We were just asking ourselves this question the other day! Can’t wait to see the Christmas Day Vlog. Mafdi’s Minimalist birthday party coming first, though 👀
Anyone else do a good pre-Christmas toy declutter? 🍃🎁 Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Absolutely! Can I ask where the little doll set is from? I have been looking for something along those lines.
@@ericarogerslee7169 it’s from Moulin Roty. She has a link for it in her description
Tennessee is such a unique name. I was actually confused at first. But then I figured it out. Love it!😊

All your gifts are just well thought out & well chosen. Just a few quality things I think they will love. I admire your lifestyle.
Part of a research paper I wrote in grad school talked about the benefits of children having a smaller amount of toys to choose from. Way to go mama 💕
This made my heart so happy!! Miss you all, hope you are doing so well 🤍🤍
AWWW thank you Julia!! Same to you love! Miss you!
